Robe (26/1/2013-28/1/2013) – Part 2

Posted on February 23, 2013February 25, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Robe (26/1/2013-28/1/2013) – Part 2

We, the girls decided to have a relaxing afternoon having tea at the backyard while the other 4 playing mahjong. I got no clue at all on how to play LOL. I just watched.

We went to dinner at the Malaysia restaurant in Robe, Don’s Kitchen. The highlight was the lobster with ee mee.

Left: Tom yum soup.
Right: Mixed vegetanles.

Left: Don’t remember what’s this.
Right: Curry or is it rendang.

Left: Salt and pepper squid.
Right: Pork rib.

In fact I don’t quite remember the actual name of the food anymore but the lobster with ee mee is great! The total came to AUD300+ if I’m not mistaken.

The next day, the guys made breakfast, french toast and sausages. They’re such great cook!

Then we started discovering Robe.

The information centre itself acted as a library, mini museum, souvenir shops, and bicycle rental.

Happened that there’s a market going on. Lots to see and taste. My friends bought a lot of cherries.

More posts to come, stay tuned…

Robe (26/1/2013-28/1/2013) – Part 1

Posted on February 22, 2013February 22, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Robe (26/1/2013-28/1/2013) – Part 1

Back in 26/1/2013, I went to Robe with my friends. There were all together 10 of us.

It was about 4 hour plus drive if not mistaken.

The second stop we made, the giant lobster!

Finally, after a long drive, we reached Robe. We went to get fish and chips for our late lunch.

Huge portion! Love the chips. Don’t remember how much they cost but I only know that ours (share by the 3 of us) wasn’t a set instead of we ordered the items a la carte, portion was huge compare to the set and almost similar price.

After that, we hunt for our accommodation. It’s a cottage. Very cozy cottage at Elizabeth Street.

Fully furnished and can fit more than 10 people.

The beds were shaky though hahaha…

It’s quite a nice place.

Cost us about AUD800+ for 2 nights.

There’s only one toilet and bathroom and both of them were located outside -.-” I don’t like this bit. It’s so cold in Robe at night even though it’s summer. Can’t imagine autumn and winter staying here. Need to go out to the cold at night to take a shower or to the toilet hahaha…

We immediately filled the space with our food! These are just part of our food.

To be continued…

Chinese New Year in Adelaide

Posted on February 21, 2013February 21, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Chinese New Year in Adelaide

I know… I’ve gone missing for more than a week! It’s been soooo looong… I’m still alive! Every time when I wanted to update the blog, the server would be down. That made it’s even harder to update. Furthermore, was busy with my fammily trip. Finally done with my family trip. Now it’s back to updating this blog and enjoy the final week of my life here in Adelaide.

Lots to update. Let’s start my first post for year of the snake.

This is my first time welcoming CNY in Adelaide. We went to a friend’s house for it.

We had hotpot on CNY’s eve.

The next day, I went to church and they had lion dance performance. Here’s the video.

In the evening, we went the the same friend’s house for pot luck.

Just simple celebration with friends. This is gonna be my last time celebrating CNY here. Celebrating it back in Malaysia is always the best!

Christchurch and Queenstown Trip (25/12/12-2/1/13) – Part 11

Posted on February 5, 2013February 9, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Christchurch and Queenstown Trip (25/12/12-2/1/13) – Part 11

Final post of my NZ trip.

On the last day, first thing we did after checking out was hunt for lunch. I ended up having sushi again ;p

Left: Bought from two places and then I rearrange them into two different boxes. Those with salmon would be for lunch while the others would be reserve for dinner at the airport.
Right: After that, we went to Christchurch Botanic Garden. It’s just across the road and we only went there on the last day.

Just some random shoots, not much.

There’s a museum there. So we went in to have a look. Didn’t explore the whole museum though.

We went to the airport as early as we could even though our flight was in the evening. Wanted to take the bus but it rained. We ended up taking the shuttle, more expensive but better than having to dragged our heavy luggage all the way to the bus stop under the rain.

Spent a night in Melbourne airport and was back to Adelaide the next day early in the morning. It was tiring but it was a fun trip. Will I go back to NZ again? I doubt it will happen in near future. Will be based in Malaysia by then and flying from Malaysia to NZ certainly be more costly and gonna spend MYR instead of AUD by then.

Last but not least, these are the videos that summarized our road trip.

This is the video of us in the bus going to Queenstown from Christchurch (27/12/12).

Next, this is Milford Sound tour (29/12/12).

Lastly, from Queenstown to Christchurch (30/12/12).

Christchurch and Queenstown Trip (25/12/12-2/1/13) – Part 10

Posted on February 3, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Christchurch and Queenstown Trip (25/12/12-2/1/13) – Part 10

On the first day of 2013, we decided to explore the rest of the shopping malls in Christchurch and other random places. One of them is University of Canterbury *LOL* It was in the Orbiter route. We just went down, had a look and hopped back on the bus in minutes ;p

Then we went to Northlands, one of the shopping malls.

Bought our lunch here and guess what?!?! Sushi again! We bought the lunch deal, they have different lunch deal everyday. Lucky us, it was the day of the salmon *SLURP*

Next, it’s another shopping mall, The Palms. It seemed big but nothing much to see. It was a bit of a let down to us. I guess we’ve been to Westfield Riccarton already, so the rest of the major shopping malls were nothing much to us anymore. Guess what?!?! I wanted to buy a small bottle of wine at a supermarket here to bring back as souvenir but I wasn’t allowed to buy it because I failed to produce my passport and they didn’t recognize any other ID.

Lots sushi shops here. Bought a teriyakki rice ball (I think it’s NZD4.90) here for my dinner.

Our lunch, McD. Chicken burger and apple pie. Total for both was less than NZD4. Wanted to go over to KFC across the road for the lunch deal but we were 15 minutes late.

We decided to go to Lyttelton, port town on the north shore of Lyttelton Harbour.

It’s badly damaged by the earthquake too.

I stayed there for about half hour only then headed back to the city. In fact we didn’t plan to alight the bus but the bus driver said he’s taking a rest before continuing as this is where his rest stop was so we had to stay for a bit there ;p he told us that he will pick us up at a specific time.

That’s the end of our 1/1/2013. Gonna prepare to pack our bag to go back to Australia the next day.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
