My journey in discovering myself in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia while fulfilling my dream to study overseas.

Hungry Jack’s @ City Cross Arcade

I’ve been trying to find cheaper food and I ended up at Hungry Jacks’s aka Burger King at City Cross Arcade after surveying all the stalls ;p.

I ordered a Cheese Burger Meal with an upgrade to regular sized soft drink, shouldn’t have, I didn’t even need one but only to realize it too late. Didn’t get to save the 55 cents ;p

I won’t be dining out here, too expensive. Will only do so only when I’m really desperate or when I found some dining companions to share the cost. If not it’s really expensive.

5th Day in Adelaide

Posted on April 4, 2011April 3, 2011 By sweet surrender 5 Comments on 5th Day in Adelaide

It’s Sunday morning. Experienced my very first false fire alarm and I was doing my big business in the toilet! I didn’t know it’s fire alarm ;p Happened that right after doing the business, I was set to go out. So I didn’t bother much and I even used the lift! ;p Came out, saw many firemen at the lobby and two fire trucks outside then it dawned on me that it’s fire alarm. I decided to continue with my journey but suddenly I thought that I forgot to flush the toilet!! I went back and waited with the rest before we were allowed to go back up. When I got back up… I did flush the toilet duh~ So blur…

Left: Adelaide Convention Centre.

Right: The street…

Left: One of the hotels in the city.

Right: The view of the buildings. Happened that the other student apartment was having false fire alarm too and there’s two fire trucks there. All those false fire alarms are really wasting the resources of the fire department. What’s wrong with those people that triggered it? It requires lots of smoke to trigger it and there’s a silence button for you to press too. Anyway, it’s very common to have false fire alarms in student apartments. Still I don’t understand how those people actually triggered it.

Left: Adelaide Railway Station.

Right: Planned to go to the casino to find free food and drinks because I just threw away 4 slices of beef as it went bad, I forgot that I must marinade it if I want to leave it in the fridge, gone were the dishes for my two meals -.-” but too bad… No such thing as free lunch in the casino hahaha…

Just behind the casino, the Festival Centre.

Left: The Solar Mallee trees outside the centre.

Right: View taken from the centre.

Left: Then, it led me to the Elder Park. I didn’t know this park exist ;p I didn’t even check my map or anything. I just walked where there’s road to walk. I was thrilled to find it, I think this will be the place where I’ll go often when I need some space for clear my mind. More photos on this place coming up in future post πŸ˜‰

There’s series of events happening there.

Of course, food stalls set up too. I didn’t try any though. Instead I went back to Rundle Mall for Hungry Jack’s. Gonna post it after this.

4th Day in Adelaide

Posted on April 3, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on 4th Day in Adelaide

It’s a Saturday. My friends told me that she’s going to pick me up to buy some stuffs that I need since she’s driving. I needed a clothes airer, laundry basket, pail and some groceries. Thank goodness for her help else how to carry all those thing back to my apartment -.-“.

While waiting for her, I took some photos of my room ;p Still not very organized hehehe…

We went to IKEA first and I got a set of containers which was only $5+. That’s all. The clothes airer was too big and laundry basket and the pail were too expensive.

So we went to Bunnings Warehouse. Finally found the stuffs that I need in a much cheaper price but the laundry basket wasn’t as cheap as I had anticipated. However, it’s the cheapest we coud find.

Happened that my friend and her friend wanted to look for some flowers for their house so we spent quite a bit of time here.

Bunnings also sells plants too. Basically, it’s your one-stop centre to build a house! So many flowers there.

It’s a good thing the weather wasn’t cold. The sun stung though. Then again, the temperature was just nice.

After we left Bunnings, we went to Chinatown to do some groceries shopping.

That’s the end of day 4.

Rundle Mall AW 2011 Fashion Parades (Part 2)

Posted on April 2, 2011April 3, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Rundle Mall AW 2011 Fashion Parades (Part 2)

Here you go… The second session at 1.30pm. This time, I can’t arrange my photos the way I did in previous post as the choreography was a bit different. So I have to do it one by one like how I usually did for my fashion show posts.

I don’t specify the brands featured too because there’s really too many.

Rundle Mall AW 2011 Fashion Parades (Part 1)

Posted on April 1, 2011March 30, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Rundle Mall AW 2011 Fashion Parades (Part 1)

My very first time covering fashion show in Adelaide. It was happening on 25 and 26 of March. I was so excited to find out about it when I went to Rundle Mall for a walk.

On that day, I made sure I reached there in time.

First up, it was introduction by a TV host. I don’t remember her name and which station she’s from ;p

The three models were shwoing the winning designs of Project Rundle. It’s a collaboration between Rundle Mall and TAFE. Left to right, 3rd place, 2nd place, and 1st place.

I decided to use a different approach in sharing this fashion parade with you because there were too many!

This is the first session at 12pm.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
