Riverside Majestic Astana Wing Kuching

Posted on May 7, 2018May 7, 2018 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Riverside Majestic Astana Wing Kuching

Just want to share the latest hotel in Kuching with you. Riverside Majestic Astana Wing Kuching, the premier wing of the existing Riverside Majestic, is located in the middle of the city of Kuching.

The lobby is not on the ground floor, you have to go up the escalator to the lobby. This is the lobby where you can find the reception counter.

My first impression of the place is the colourful sofas that can be found at almost every corner of the hotel giving pop of colours to the otherwise the-usual-lobby of most hotels.

They have various function and meeting rooms with awesome views for your events.

There’s executive lounge with full view of the Sarawak River and again with colourful seating.

Even the rooms are colourful hahaha… They have 272 luxurious rooms and Astana suites with a choice of King bed or two queen beds all uniquely designed with luxurious interiors and powerful WIFI.

You’ll either get the city view or the river view. Any room you stay, you will be able to see the beautiful view of Kuching. This is the city view from one of the rooms.

Sky Lounge on the 17th floor is amazing! The view is great! Enjoy your happy hour or the night with a range of wine, spirits, draught beer or non-alcoholic beverages accompanied with snacks while looking out to the night view of the Sarawak River.

These are the views you can get from the lounge and also the rooms. Kuching is so beautiful and full of characters. Welcome to Kuching!

Check out the hotel’s official website for more details.

Wonderfood Museum, Penang

Posted on April 28, 2018May 4, 2018 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Wonderfood Museum, Penang

Food! Who doesn’t love food? I personally really like things related to food. When I found out there’s a food museum in Penang, I decided to pay a visit to it.

Located at 49, Lebuh Pantai, George Town, 10200 George Town, Pulau Pinang. Entrance ticket is RM15/adult. You can get the ticket by clicking on this link.

Did you know that the food replicas found in The Borneo House Museum is also handcrafted by the same person who is from this museum?

The miniatures are so real! Very meticulously created! The actual size is smaller than what you see in the photo. I used macro mode for this.

The food replicas are amazing! Looked so real that many thought that the photo on the right, showcasing the Chinese New Year reunion dinner food are real when I posted it on my Instagram. People thought that I’m having these for my reunion dinner hahaha!! It’s such a grand affair but too bad it’s not my dinner.

If our food is colourful VS if our food is black & white. Mind you, the latter is not edited or using any camera filter, it is really black & white.

Spoilt food VS flying food.

This is where you can see giant replica of local food. Man… I just couldn’t take my eyes of all the food on display in this museum. While writing this, my stomach is grumbling…

These are just some of the giant replicas on display, you have to come here to see for yourself…

Aside from that, there are so much more to see. Can you see what is the photo on the left trying to portray? It’s using various food and cutlery to replicate the famous Mona Lisa drawing. Giant durian, mangosteen, and roti canai can also be found there.

There are many photo opportunities in the museum. Just have fun! It’s very educational as well because you can learn about various nutritional values and some facts about the food we eat.

Not only that, they also try to create awareness and educate the visitors of issues surrounding our lives related to food.

What you see here is just a tip of the iceberg. I highly recommend this place if you are to visit Penang. I could easily spend two hours in this museum admiring the replicas. Have a yummilicious visit!

AEON MALL Kuching Central, First Store in East Malaysia

Posted on April 17, 2018 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on AEON MALL Kuching Central, First Store in East Malaysia

AEON is going to open its door to shoppers on 20th April 2018. Was lucky to get a sneak peek of the place before it opened to the members at 1pm today. This is AEON Co. (M) Bhd. first mall in East Malaysia. Located along Jalan Keretapi, it’s so huge that you will not miss it *LOL* Housing more than 130 retail lots spread across three floors with 1800 car park bays that spread over five level of its multi-level parking.

As you know, you will find AEON very own supermarket and department store offering fresh groceries for your daily needs, trendy apparels for young and old, household furnishing and appliances for your home and office, and mouthwatering food and beverage to fill your tummy.

Do look out for TOPVALU – AEON’s global flagship private brand, known as the provider of affordable yet reliable Japanese products since 1994 has been AEON’s standard in delivering the best quality, safety and value to consumers across Asia with TOPVALU groceries, TOPVALU COLLECTION for versatile garments, TOPVALU HOME for the best selections of household furnishing and appliances for home.

There’s a lot of food counters such as ‘Ready to Cook’, ‘Salmon Counter’, ‘Marinated Counter’, ‘Premium Fruit Gift Pack’, ‘Cut Fruits & Juice Counter’, ‘Cheese Counter’, ‘Korean Kimchi Counter’, and ‘We Cook You Eat’ cooking station. The cooking station is what attracted me the most, it is something you cannot find anywhere else but in AEON, pretty interesting, will try it out when I’m there again.

The F&B selections with ready-to-eat light bites, easy preparation meals, and authentic Japanese cuisine such as sushis, assorted tempuras, pizzas, cooked meats, hot snacks, assorted sandwiches, salads, and more. Not to forget variety of buns and pastries at ‘La Boheme’ Bakery.

Here’s some views of the department store, lots to see. You will have to go there to see for yourself. The prices are not too high. There’s a section selling skincare products, looks very interesting but didn’t have time to take a look at it.

With the launch of AEON MALL Kuching Central, AEON CO. (M) BHD. now has a total of 27 AEON MALLs and 35 AEON Stores nationwide.

Go sign up up for the membership card tomorrow(18th April, 10am-8pm) and the day after tomorrow(19th April, 10am-6pm) so that you can have a look at the place first. I foresee on the grand opening, the crowd would be massive *LOL* Check out their FB page https://www.facebook.com/aeonretail.my/ for more details.

Guerisson 9-Complex Cream

Posted on April 10, 2018December 12, 2018 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Guerisson 9-Complex Cream

I discovered Guerisson 9-Complex in Althea and Hermo. Was quite shocked to see how much good reviews this product is having. It took me quite awhile to decide to buy it to try. You can get it now from Watsons and Sasa in Malaysia too. I bought this from Althea. You can check out its official site for more information, https://www.guerisson.my/guerisson-9-complex-cream

I’ve seen so many types of horse oil, felt kind of icky. Finally got the courage to try this and I’m glad I did not try the others and also beware of fakes out there. Too many fakes out there. Make sure you get it from the websites and the two shops I mentioned above. The photos I posted here is to show you the features of genuine product. You can google “genuine guerisson 9 complex” and find many bloggers sharing how to spot the real and fake cream.

I will share on my experience using this cream instead. This cream claimed to be able to do the following:
72-hour Moisturization
Firming Power
Smooth Skin
Whitening
Wrinkle-care
Best in scar reducing

The scent was very pleasant and the texture is just like butter. Use it sparingly, just a little will work wonder. If you have normal, oily or combination skin, use very little, don’t be too greedy. When it is applied on the skin, it has emollient effect. If you are staying in places where the air is dry, this is God-sent! I tried it myself when traveling to those dry places or sleeping in air-conditioned room, no itchiness and flaky skin developed on the face and other body parts. It can be used anywhere you feel it’s dry. My friend even applied it on her lips when she was in Japan, she suffered very bad cracked lips and it helped a lot.

Rich in Vitamin E & botanical extracts; namely peppermint leaf, apple mint leaf extracts, rosemary & sage extracts the said formula is safe enough to apply on babies. Guerisson 9 complex penetrates deep into skin where the steroids & preservatives free formula improves damaged skin by providing the most required nutrients. With almost zero side effects, it remains to be one of the best Korean scar removal creams that has been tried & tested for the claims made.

As I don’t want to contaminate the cream in the jar, I foresee that it will last me quite awhile because only very little amount is needed and I do not use it everyday, I transferred some to small container and store the rest in the original jar.

I noticed improvement to my skin. I have few pigmentation spots on my cheek area and it is lighter now. My pores are smaller too. I did not develop any sensitiveness to the cream. Hence, it is all good. I highly recommend buying it.

Peripera Blur Pang Peach Milk Blur

Posted on April 4, 2018April 5, 2018 By sweet surrender No Comments on Peripera Blur Pang Peach Milk Blur

Peripera Blur Pang Peach Milk Blur is from korea. This primer is claimed to be able to achieve an airbrushed finishing, as if all your flaws are blurred away.

The one I’m sharing here is Peach. The packaging is so cute, just like a mini milk cartoon. I got this from Watsons, priced at about RM40+ for 50ML.

There are 3 different types. Each has different function:
Peach Milk Blur: SPF30PA++ protection, tone-up with CC cream effect.
Banana Milk Blur: Natural coverage tone-up effect.
Pure Milk Blur: Tone-up effects for face and body parts that look dull and sallow.

Peripera Blur Pang range consists of these ingredients:
NEW ZEALAND COLOSTRUM: Contains colostrum that was milked within 72 hours in the pristine New Zealand. The freshness of first milk provides brightening and skin barrier strengthening benefits to deliver clear and soft skin textures, just like a baby.
JEJU GOAT MILK: Nourishes skin and an ingredient that is most similar to breast milk; contains 28% more of inorganic salt selenium compared to normal milk, for even healthier skin.
VITA COMPLEX10: A complex of 10 vitamins including B5, B7, B9, C, E, A, B1, B2, B3 and B4 for healthy and more radiant skin.

It also claimed to have 98% peach extract (14,000 ppm).

The smell of peach is strong. That’s always the case when it comes to products with peach fragrance. However, it doesn’t bother me.

I applied to half of my face to see the effect. The one on the left has only my moisturizer while the one on the right is applied with Peach Milk Blur. The cream texture is quite hard to spread and left sticky layer on my face.

Looking at the photo, the skin condition without Peach Milk Blur looks better. However, the primer did blur out some spots on my face. It’s a bit too white for my skin tone but once it settled down which took hours, it will look more natural.

After applying it all over the face, I proceeded with my usual makeup routine. The stickiness of the primer was still there. Looking at these photos, it did blur out my spots which usually can be seen in photos. That’s the only good thing about it. Anyway, you can also use this on its own on your lazy day.

Repurchase will not be considered. There are many good reviews about it but too bad it doesn’t go well with me. I dislike the texture and the stickiness. My skin also felt suffocated using it. A bit of itch developed at the end of the day.
