SRB Chung Hua Pending 60th Anniversary Celebration

Posted on November 19, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on SRB Chung Hua Pending 60th Anniversary Celebration

Went to my alma mater’s 60th anniversary celebration just now. The celebration was at Jubilee Hall. OH MY!!! I couldn’t recognised most of my former teachers -_-” only could recognise a few but I didn’t talk to them. They were too busy and I’m busy minding my own business too, that’s taking pictures πŸ˜› I didn’t see many ex-classmates or ex-schoolmates there. Hmmm… Ah well… Maybe it’s because I sat at somewhere faraway from most people as I was sitting with the students becuase there were extra seats. I was there to fill the seat. Dad was one of the organizing committees therefore my mom, my bro and I were there just to fill the odd seats πŸ˜› It was packed! Around 700+ ppl attended.

L-R: Special magazine just for the occasion; The VIP seats and the stage.

The arrangement of VIP seats and the normal seats.

The crowds and dance preformance by a local dance group.

More performances. See the sexy girl? She’s my junior πŸ˜› Karaoke queen yo!

Ribbon cutting ceremony by the those big sponsors.

Singing of birthday song, blowing the candles and cut the cake. The cake cost about RM200++

Let’s go to the food. The food is from “Yi Yuan” Teochew Restaurant.

(L)Shreaded chicken meat noodle fried with egg. (R)Combination dish

(L)Sea cucumber soup. (R)”Chess” duck *LOL* I’m not sure how to translate and don’t know how to describe too.

(L)Steam fish. (R)Yam and pork.

(L) Mix vegetables with crab meat. (M)”Tau hu hua”[beancurd pudding] (R)”O ni” [mashed yam], the specialty of the restaurant.

What a tired night…

Wedding Bells are in the Air

Posted on October 1, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on Wedding Bells are in the Air

Wow… so many weddings this year. Yesterday(30.9.2006) I went to not-so-familiar-friend marriage registration. Well… Actually I’m just being a busy body and went there to help them take photos though I know my photo taking skill sucks big time πŸ˜› Since Jimmy was required to take video of the ceremony, there’s no one to help take photos so I went LOL…

It’s at the same place as Ann’s, Teochew Association. However, the way they conducted it was different. The couples could choose the language they want. This time, it’s in English and Teochew dialect.

It was pretty interesting. There were two of them registering at the same time. Hmm… How to put it? Let’s just put it this way… Couple A is the witnesses of Couple B and vice versa.

Ely(the guy with blue stripes tie) and Cindy(the girl in blue blouse with ribbon) were the witnesses for Ngen(the guy with dark coloured tie) and Priscilla(the girl in blue blouse) and vice versa. Ngen and Priscilla had theirs in English; Cindy and Ely had theirs in Teochew dialect.

Here’s the photos of the couples after signing the certificates:

Wish them all the best in their marriage πŸ™‚

Hmm… this is the third and fourth marriage registrations that I attended this year and 5 couples got married(I didn’t attend Mei’s registration) this year. First was Ann’s, then Alysha’s, next was Ngen and Priscilla, then Ely & Cindy. Anymore coming? It’s such a good year for people to tie the knots don’t you think?

Early Birthday Celebration

Posted on August 19, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on Early Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Jimmy’s birthday at food fair. I’m not the one organizing it. I’m not the kind that will organize party or whatever. I’m just a lazy girl ahahah… It’s organized by Nien and Wei. The theme for the birthday was Cosplay and we had two cakes for it. See the four people in front of me? You know who are they?
Happy birthday! Well… one day early. It doesn’t matter. We have a video for it too… Not to forget… I’m the host again! πŸ˜› Hahahaah… I’m still as stiff as ever.

The Wedding Reception @ Hilton (Food Chapter) – 09.07.06

Posted on July 14, 2006 By sweet surrender No Comments on The Wedding Reception @ Hilton (Food Chapter) – 09.07.06

A bit free now.. Here’s the food of the night… It’s an 8-course dinner. Here’s the menu. I know… You can’t see much, don’t worry, more explainations here.

Firstly, Special Hot & Cold Combination, consists of 4 variants, small squids, prawn balls, jellyfish and meatball. Hmmm… I could be wrong coz I’m pretty blur in this thing.
Secondly, Braised Shark Fin Soup With Mushroom and Crabmeat. Such a mouthful.

Steamed White Pomfret Fish "Cantonese" Style and Hong Kong BBQ Duck With Plum Sauce.

Deep Fried Prawn With Salad Cream In Sesame Seeds and Brocoli With Pacific Clam & Black Mushroom.

Why is always fried rice the last? I hate it! Fried Rice With Prawn & Ikan Bilis(Anchovies).

Last but not least, White Fungus & Dry Longan With Lotus Seeds In Syrup. Not cold enough.

My goodness… why are all the names such a mouthful? So.. that’s the end of the wedding posts. All the best to both Ann & Jee!

The Wedding Reception @ Hilton – 09.07.06

WARNING!!! I’M SORRY FOR DIAL-UP USERS , THIS POST IS REALLY BIG!!! THE TOTAL SIZE OF IT IS ALMOST 1MB… VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK.

My oh my… I’m so busy with work and have no time to update anything about the wedding reception. By the way, the haze is coming back today… no wonder my nose is so itchy.

It’s held at Matang Terrace, Hilton, Kuching, Sarawak. It’s an outdoor recpetion. Luckily no rain but it’s so hot and humid. We reached there before 6pm, thought to find the bride and groom at their room but they were’t back from Alvin’s yet. Therefore, we went to the Matang Terrace to take photos and survey the place first. It was so windy! We were so happy summore we got such a nice spot where we can see the stage clearly and it’s just along the aisle for the bride and groom to make their grand entrance. Table 20, was our table.

Some photos we taken before the dinner started.

It’s getting hot… No more wind.. Very humid… Finally…

The grand entrance and the reception began! Oh… no food post πŸ˜› will post it separately. Ann wore an apple green bareback dress for the grand entrance, tossing, cake cutting and also the "trick" we played on them. Well… not really a trick, just asked them to slow dance to the band. We didn’t ask them to kiss but then it’s automatic LOL… Sam was just saying, "Next the bride and groom *stopped talking*", they both kissed without Sam asked them too LOL. No karaoke, no typical Chinese wedding stuffs except the food hehehe… It’s jazz the whole night tru’.

Then after a few dishes, she went to changed to a gold dress before going around the tables to greet the guest. Both of them wasn’t standing at the entrance to greet the guests, they only showed up when it’s time for the grand entrance. English was used the whole night as she didn’t get Chinese MC, well… The MC was a Chinese but a he’s a "banana" πŸ˜› Hahahaha… our college lecture, Samuel. During the dinner time, we have not much chance to have photos with Ann and Jee.

So we went to our college lecturers and seniors table for a photoshoot, haven’t seen them ages(the photo at the right bottom)… The driver, Ian was there, the bestman, Eric was there, the MC, Sam too and etc… Basically the whole table and all the friends of both Ann and Jee were from Informatics! Except hmm… As far as I know, 3 people at our table weren’t from Informatics but from dance class. Even so… Kuching is so… so… so… Small that Pinky knows Lee Ling, Audrey and Hui Yee, they were from the same high schoo LOL… See… Kuching is so small… Summore one of our lecturer is Alysha’s friend. Everyone practically knows each other.

One more thing, Nick came back out of sudden from KL and he wasn’t invited to join the wedding because no one expected him to be back, what a surprise! We didn’t know until he called Lee in the afternoon asking him to go out for a drink and was shocked to know that today is the celebration of Ann’s marriage. Then, Lee called me and asked me what should we do LOL… So I called Ann and she said just asked him to join our table. So… This guy came without an invitation πŸ˜› Or put it in a nicer way, last minute invitation hehehehe… He joined our table that was supposed to be for 10 people. Lucky the table was big enough and there was still space to fit one more person.

After the dinner ended, we waited until all the guests left and we took the opportunity to take pictures with Ann and Jee on the stage. Too bad… I don’t have any photos of them. It’s all in our seniors’ cameras. Will ask from them soon.

So… after that, we called it a night. Exhausted… They would be going for their honeymoon the next day. Enjoy your honeymoon Ann! In fact, she’s still having her honeymoon now and should be in KL already. Before that they were at Phuket. They will be back this Sunday if not mistaken.

That’s all for the wedding reception. The food will be posted when I’m free again. I still have heaps of work in hand.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
