PHILADELPHIA® 3-STEP® Cheesecake

Posted on September 2, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on PHILADELPHIA® 3-STEP® Cheesecake

Haven’t bake any cake for ages. The last time was before CNY. Today, my sis and I decided to bake cheesecake. Here’s the recipe…

The one showing here(the text) is the original recipe. We substituted and added extra ingredients to it(the pic).

The steps are:
MIX cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs; mix just until blended. Mix crumbs and butter; press onto bottom of 8- or 9-inch baking pan.
POUR batter over crust.
BAKE at 350°F for 40 minutes or until center is almost set. Cool. Refrigerate 3 hours or overnight. Cut into bars.

How To : Easily Remove Bars From Pan: Line pan with foil before pressing crumb mixture onto bottom of pan.

Here’s the photos of the process:-
Mix:

We added self rising flour in hope of making it a bit more fluffy like normal cake.

Making the base.

Pour:

It’s very sticky!!!

Bake:

We took some batter to make some cheese cupcakes/muffins.

End results:

-_-” Heheheh… failure 😛 We reduced the recipe to half which was fine all these while but decided to try something different today, we love to experiment with cakes or cookies baking. We added about 1/2 cup of self rising flour. The batter was so so slippery 😛 having a bit difficulty to scoop or even spread it.

We thought it would rise so we didn’t put much. Off into the oven and it came out… GOSHH.. it’s really tough!!! Tougher than biscuits. We tried to cut it with the big knife for cutting meat but to no avail hahahah… So decided to break it with our bare hands and it’s much easier to break 😛 Man… it’s really hard 😛 It can hurt people too if you throw it to them LOL… Considering it to be an edible weapon too. YES! You heard me right, it still can be eaten, no need to throw it away.

However, don’t worry about the recipe I had stated and the steps before the photos of the process. Just don’t follow what I did 😛 More recipes on cheesecakes, go to kraftfoods.com I got mine from here.

The Crocs in Actions! – Jong’s Crocodile Farm & Zoo (PART II)

Posted on September 1, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on The Crocs in Actions! – Jong’s Crocodile Farm & Zoo (PART II)

Lots of photos… PART II now… the climax is coming…

Left: What is this? Very huge bird. Very colourful head. At first I thought it’s ostrich.
Right: FEEDING TIME!!!

Left: Everyone is waiting for the show to begin!
Right: Hungry crocs. Buckets of fish were poured from the top to feed them.

The climax of the visit!

Goosh… damn big fish.. scary… couldn’t take photos of them. They didn’t come up but submerge in the water all the time. It’s black in colour. Some with florescent red scales too. It’s the same fish that you see in people’s homes or shops aquarium that they sometimes said it could give them luck or some even claimed can see 4D number on its body. You can feed them, there were breads in the baskets.

Left: Ducksss…
Right: Some huts built next to the pond for visitors to rest and enjoy the pondful of waterlilies.

Left: Asean giant softshell turtle, it’s gigantic 😛 people threw coins in there. For what? Well… for luck I guess because turtle or tortoise symbolised longevity. It can be as long as 5 feet and as heavy as 200kg.
Right: Sun bear.

Left: Guinea pig. A visit to this farm and zoo can cause cuteness overdose 😛 Heheheh…
Right: My greatest fear!!! Snakes!!! They have lots of pythons. You must pass by this enclosure to go into the zoo. I was a bit scare that time but it’s in the cage so it’s OK though I got goosepimles everywhere and I wonder my hair stands or not?

So… that’s about my short trip. I recommend you to go there when they are having feeding time, 11am and 3pm. Else… I think RM8 is not worth it. It’s open from 9am-5pm daily.

CROCS ROCKS!! LOL… not really 😛 it rhymes anyway…

The Crocs in Actions! – Jong’s Crocodile Farm & Zoo (PART I)

Posted on September 1, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on The Crocs in Actions! – Jong’s Crocodile Farm & Zoo (PART I)

Quite a boring day yesterday, so went to Jong’s Crocodile Farm & Zoo. I had never been there. This is my first time there. It’s located about 30 kilometerfrom Kuching or fondly known as 17 miles.

Left: The entrance to the farm at the roadside so that people can easily locate it.
Right: The shop where you can buy some crocs’ products and Sarawak souvenirs.

Crocs replicas greet you at the main entrance.

Here, we bought our tickets. Adult is RM8 and child is RM4(below 12).

Left: Iguana, how many can you locate?
Right: The exhibition hall.

Some animals and egg, they are real but it’s already dead.

Bujang Senang! Geee… I wonder why people put money in there? It’s huge and it had eaten human. You can see the photos on the wall on how they took the victim from its stomach after killing it.

These are real but it’s preserved. It shows you the metamorphosis of a saltwater crocodile.

Young crocs.

Left: Tailess crocodiles.
Right: Its colour is different form others. Kinda white.

A collection of crocodiles and the entrance to the zoo(left).

Left: Catfish.
Right: Rabbit.Veli cute… don’t you think so?

Left: The otters. They were so cute. Making some squeky sounds. It sounded pityful. Summore, it’s very friendly too. When you are in front of the cage, it will greet you by running to your direction. It’s SUPER ADORABLE!!! They are very fond of children. When there are children near the cage, they would run to their direction.
Right: This owl is so cool… it has the what-are-you-staring-at look.

Peacocks! Too bad, they didn’t show us their tails.

Part 2 coming soon…

Happy 49th Independence

Happy Merdeka Day!

I took some photos/videos from the live telecast few minutes before the clock striked 12 last night. Then a few minutes after 12 too.

I woke up at 10am this morning and the parade had finished 😛 so no photos from there. Before the clock striked 12. Hmm… I took a lot and it turned out that only the cultural dance part can be used. The rest couldn’t be used.

Here’s the video that will summarised everything on 30th night right on the spot. Thanks to Nien.

As for this morning, I only saw the end of it where they took the view from high up and it’s showing Carpenter Street area but they totally didn’t show our skyscrappers that were all at the other side. That whole view really gives people that don’t know much about the impression that Kuching is a small town, very very small town and backward, so dissappointed with that view. They should also show the other side of Kuching. Are you humiliating us? People, that’s the not the true picture of Kuching, it’s just a small part of Kuching where all the old shops located. You can buy all sorts of souvenirs and antiques at that area.

Slice My Own Hair!

Posted on August 25, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on Slice My Own Hair!

Well… You can’t see much here coz I only cut my front hair heheheh… I took a razor blade and sliced my front hair gradually through the strands. There… I have fringe now 😛 Ehehhe… It turn out ok, not a total disaster but not very obvious. Well… not much different really, I dare not to slice too short. I sliced at least 15cm or so but it’s still long. Oh I did it after washing my hair, that’s why it’s straight in the first photo. The second was taken after it’s dried.

Got inspired by one of the snippets in Cleo August 2006 issue 😛 Hehehe…

“Make razors work double time for you: Instead of using a pair of scissors to keep your fringe in check, try a disposable single-blade razor and make sure it’s single blade unless you want to end up with split hair. Pull your dry fringe forward and hold hair taut at the ends between fingers and slice the blade gradually through the strands till you get your desired length.”

By the way, no makeup!!! Only colourless lip balm LOL… but the second photo, I did photoshopped my eyebags and dark circles. The flash was too harsh and it emphasized too much on them.

I did cut my hair once before. It was years ago and ehehhe… It was OK because I have natural curls and I already have layered cut, even though I simply cut, it had not much effect. I didn’t know what got into me that time. I actually cut my own hair by backcombed all my hair and started snipped, snipped, snipped… Of course following the length where it’s short, it’s short; where it’s long, it’s long.

Please don’t try it at home 😛 I’m not responsible for any damage. It’s best to leave your hair to the pro.
