The Opening Ceremony Of Sushi King In Sarawak – Part 1

Posted on January 30, 2008November 23, 2008 By sweet surrender 14 Comments on The Opening Ceremony Of Sushi King In Sarawak – Part 1

YO! So happy! Got invited to the Opening Ceremony of Sushi King in Sarawak at Boulevard hehehe… Woke up so early today because of this. Need to go there early, scare can’t find parking. I went to pick up Alysha and then we went to Jimmy’s house and waited for Rose, 4 of us went in one car πŸ˜› Met Greg there.

YAY! We’re here. Registered ourselves and we got a goodie bag each! Guess what!??!?! FREE Sushi King card! I had spent my RM15 applied for it the other time, so regret… Hahaha… I’m selling it off and it’s SOLD for RM10! πŸ˜› There’s a pen in there, RM10 voucher, and ang pao packets(no money of course).

Hehehe… Went early and got the front row πŸ˜› While waiting for the VIPs, we were feast with Sarawak traditional music.

Left: Waiting for the VIPs.
Right: Silas the MC.

Orang Ulu traditional dance. However, they were not all in Orang Ulu’s costumes. According to Silas, those with feathers were Kelabit (they called themselves Anak Adi Rurum Kelabit) and those with interesting head dress were the Lun Bawangs.

Left: Sushi King(Sushi Kin Sdn. Bhd.) is under Texchem Resources Sdn. Bhd. This is the the Founder/Chairman/CEO of Texchem, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Fumiko Konishi.
Middle: This is YB Haji Datuk Talip Zulpilip, chairman of SEDC(Sarawak Economic Development Corporation)
Right: Opening officiated! As far as I know, we were very good boys and girls, we tried not to interfere with those reporters. Only went up close after they were done.

Presenting a souvenir.

Left-Right: Puan Sri Datin Seri Atsuko Konishi, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Fumiko Konishi, YB Haji Datuk Talip Zulpilip and Yasuhiro Nishida(Managing Director of Sushi Kin Sdn. Bhd.)
This is the press conference session. We got to know that there will be a Sushi King outlet opening in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah this 31st March. They are planning to open in Miri, Bintulu and Sibu. There will be 5-6 more outlets opening in Sarawak within this year to achieve the 50 outlets target. Currently there are 44 outlets in Malaysia. The thing about Sushi King that stood out from the rest is the pricing for West and East Malaysia are the same! I know the kentai sushi is the same(kudos to that!), the set meals aren’t… Hmm… Not so sure, as I got the price from the website that time.

Let’s cut the ribbon! We tried our best to stay out of the way of the reporters. I stood on the chair with Rose hehehe… What to do? We are so small hahaha…

Toured the place. We didn’t dare to follow but all the reporters followed. So we waited outside, then Greg went and we followed his back. When we were there, the Asst. Business Development Manager said,”Bloggers right? Yes, yes… Bloggers can go in, Go… Go… Go…”. *LOL* We quickly scrambled to the kitchen to take some shoots of the VIPs and the kitchen.

Left: You don’t get to see this everyday πŸ˜› Hehehehe… The kitchen is clean and spotless.
Right: The buffet… Food post coming up in part 2 hehehe… OMG! Lots of sushi!!! Yum~ Yum~

2008 Spring Charity Fashion Show

Posted on January 29, 2008January 29, 2008 By sweet surrender 7 Comments on 2008 Spring Charity Fashion Show

Sorry about the looooong down time of the server yesterday. I didn’t manage to update my blog yesterday because of that and I got many complains and enquiries from bloggers about their blogs and also corporate clients about their websites being down. -.-” You can imagine how many phone calls, SMS, MSN and e-mail we got yesterday. Sigh… I know you guys were worried, we were too. We had to worry about your blogs, our own blogs and our corporate clients’ websites. Good thing it’s back now and hopefully this upgrade that took more than 6 hours will mean less down time in the future.

WOW… I’m so touch that there’s even people asking why I didn’t update my blog hehehe… Just one day no update πŸ˜› But I had updated yesterday posts today.

This has nothing to do with The Spring. Many people thought it’s related. Oh please… Something with the word “spring” doesn’t mean that it’s related to The Spring ok?!?! *shake head*

Went to 2008 Spring Charity Fashion Show at Civic Centre on the 24th January 2008. Bought the tickets way back before I went to KL.

Left: If you don’t have time to have your dinner, you can buy a set of tart and tinned drink for RM5/set. Portion of the money would be given to SCCS.
Right: The MCs, Robert Chung(organising chairperson) and YB Datuk Yong Khoon Seng.

Let’s not waste any more time. I’ll show you the fashion show. Not all the outfits are here as many of them are blurred.

These are not professional models. Some of them walked pretty funnily hahaha…

Most left: Chua Hua Beng serenate you with some songs.
Right: The male models.

Left: There’s also lucky draw but we didn’t win anything.
Right: Dance from Tyng Studio. You can view the video here.

The clothings were from Tyng Fashion, Red Pepper Fashion, Private Design, Mix Boutique, that’s all I can remember πŸ˜›

More fashion.

Most left: Kenny Sia giving speech. I’m sorry but I didn’t really pay attention to what he had said that night, all I know is that it’s so… Don’t know how to say.
Right: The evening gowns.

More evening gowns and evening wear for the males.

Most left: The last piece of male evening wear.
Middle: Dance by students of Chung Hua Primary School No.6, view video here.
Right: Ms. Fara singing some songs.

These are from France & Taipei.

More wedding gowns from France & Taipei. The picture on the right is just random picture that I took. I quite like this gown but I don’t have such big boobs for it *LOL* I wonder how much padding I would need in that!

These are from Genesis.

More gowns from Genesis. The most right photo is also another random photo that I took.

The end…

Was so hungry after the show because it’s started during dinner time and the tart won’t be enough to fill your stomach. I had a quick dinner at home that day. Many working adults had problem attending the show because it’s in a rush, there’s no time for them to have dinner before going, most also had to rush there right after work. Many left early. If there isn’t dinner served, they should start it later instead of during dinner time. This is something you have to take note of when you organising an event like this.

Anyway, it’s not an easy task to get this show running. It did go well eventually πŸ™‚

Rock Party Appreciation Night

Posted on January 28, 2008February 1, 2008 By sweet surrender No Comments on Rock Party Appreciation Night

Another backdated post. This happened on 20th January 2008. Remember the Rock party at FE.VER last year, 8th December, 2007? To celebrate the success of the party and as appreciation to the everyone that involved, they organised an appreciation night at BOP(Birds Of Paradise).

I was sick… I was coughing… I didn’t really eat that night. Had to order a cup of tea as I couldn’t drink cold drink. So ended up paying RM3 for a cup of tea. Had to foot my own bill as there’s only cold cordial drink served.

Where is BOP? It’s at… I don’t know how to tell you the place -.-” At that small area, you get 3 cafes just next and opposite each other… Kuching… It’s like that. It’s somewhere near F&N factory.

Left: Food… I ate a bit only.
Right: Group photo… Taken with Pazuzu’s new wide-angle lense!

Group photo before we left. Using Pazuzu’s wide-angle lense again… He got wide-angle lense aleady… I haven’t get a DSLR yet hahaha…

Day 4(12.01.08) – AMBP Gathering: Coffee Therapy for Bloggers

Posted on January 20, 2008January 20, 2008 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Day 4(12.01.08) – AMBP Gathering: Coffee Therapy for Bloggers

After breakfast at Holiday Inn, we waited for the shuttle to send us to Bukit Bintang. I tried to ask them to send us to Mid Valley as it’s on the way but the supervisor didn’t allow it as there were other people following the shuttle too. So we had to go to the designated area to be fair. Well… It’s free, nothing much can be done. It’s all right, we’ll just take the monorail from Imbi to Mid Valley.

When I was walking towards KL Sentral, I realised that my foot steps were getting louder and louder and finally… See the left picture *LOL* Tried to buy a pair at KL Sentral but not worth it. Luckily it’s a sandals I still have two other support at the ankle, if it’s just slippers then I will definitely have to buy one. I dragged my feet all the way to The Gardens, Mid Valley hahaha… Ivan was at the station waiting for friends, he greeted me else I won’t be seeing him also *LOL* The right picture is my RM25 slippers from Bata at Mid Valley, the most expensive slippers I’ve ever buy :p Wilson insisted me to buy before going to lunch hahaha… Nyek… Nyek… Nyek… My foot was supported by Wilson’s foot so that I could get a better photo of my slippers *LOL* Thanks hahaha… Did you know that he said that if by the time he reaches 40 and we’re not married yet, he wants to marry me? *LOL* QUICK! If you don’t want him to get me, you better act fast! Hahaha… I’m so desperate πŸ˜›

We were so late that more than 50 people already claimed their drinks. We were not entitled to free drinks anymore… Hahaha… What to do? No need to drink hehehe… I had my water bottle with me πŸ˜› I would rather drink plain water instead of sweet drinks and I’ve been a regular customer at Starbucks ever since I’m in Genting.

For those late comers like us, we got nothing hehehe… However, we were lucky enough to win some prizes from the lucky draw!

The 3 Kuchingites that won the lucky draw! Damn lucky. Even those not from Kuching but hung out with us all won the lucky draw, wow… We were such a lucky bunch hehehe… Platinumgirl, Jimmy and I. The photo shows almost all the prizes that we got πŸ˜› I gave out my movie passes that I got from FACES to Platinumgirl and Wilson I think or is it Daniel? Aiksss… I lost track hahaha…. There were so many movie passes in the bags! *LOL* I gave mine all away to Wilson. There were so many lipsticks and all of them are the same colour in one box, Platinumgirl got it. Goodness! Wonder what are they thinking by giving all the same colour -.- She gave each of us one hehehe… I don’t use lipstick, might put it on sale in Ebay *LOL* Lipstick from Loreal up for grab, anyone!?!?!.

Left: Me! Finally my name was called! Hahaha…
Right: Daniel the guy in red, went to Catscity Clique last year hehehe… He’s more or less become part of Kuching blogger *LOL* He was damn lucky! His name was called for the lucky draw and he was in the toilet hahaha… Then not long later, his name was called again for another round! WOW! See that’s how lucky our group was hehehe… The girl in pink is Sammy that loves loofah so much hehehe… She also won the lucky draw hehehe… Hmmm… The guy at the back… Hmmm… I think his name is James not so sure πŸ˜› Sorry… The one on the most right is Ivan hehehe… Long time no see πŸ˜›

Left: Platinumgirl and I with one of our lucky draw prizes πŸ˜›
Right: Yvonne and I. I didn’t manage to talk much with her.

There were many other bloggers like smashpop, Peter Tan(which I always said that he’s Paul Tan -.- aiyoo… I always got their names mixed up :P) I didn’t manage to mingle around because I don’t know how hahaha… Not unless you approach me, I won’t approach you hehehe… Basically, I didn’t manage to know many people that day and I wasn’t in the group photo because we had to get our lunch and prepared for another bloggers’ meet which at the end I didn’t involve instead sitting at the corner of Starbucks with Wilson and LeeTeeng hahaha… Louiss said that I was so busy at the AMBP Gathering that he didn’t go over to greet me *LOL* However, he did greet me before I left to go to Pavilion hehehe… In fact he did greet me earlier on but I didn’t notice :p Or I did notice but didn’t respond as who knows he’s greeting someone else hehehe… I didn’t know him that time too.

That’s all for the gathering and NO! I didn’t go there just to attend this event hahaha… I’m not like you-know-who that always have to fly to various places just to attend an event on invitation or on self-expense. Just happened that I’m there. πŸ˜›

IVOQ My Privilege Book Launch & Fashion Show

Posted on January 3, 2008January 3, 2008 By sweet surrender 17 Comments on IVOQ My Privilege Book Launch & Fashion Show

Continue from IVOQ My Privilege Book Launch & Hair Show.

The boutiques that took part in the fashion shows are(not in particular order) De Home Boutique by ISANSMYTH, Cozzi Boutique, Cocoon, Great Wall Photo, Natale, Jp Boutique, Orangety, and Absolute Dress Gallery. The photos below are not in particular order, they are all jumbled up already, I missed out many shoots and many shoots are blur, those are pretty nice dresses but too bad… πŸ™ All these shoots I had to adjust the curve and sharpen them if not too dark and kinda blur…

KL models are so different from Kuching. They are tall, good at posing, nice body, nice skin and nice hair. I’m sure many of those that attended that day agree with me. The feel was so different.

I like the 1st outift. Hehehe…

The yellow one nice but the colour not suitable for me πŸ˜› Other colour with the same design should be nice also.

Love the second outfit but I’m too short to wear it, it will weigh me down hahaha…

I want the second outfit! πŸ˜› The 4th one is also nice but yellow again…

Nothing that I like here.

Very bright colours but none I like.

Like the second and fifth outfits.

the fourth outfit very cute! πŸ˜›

First one looks sweet.

First one I like.

The last one not bad.

Battery low… Died few times. Didn’t manage to take many of the gowns πŸ™

I like this pink evening gown but not suitable for me as I’m too short and I will be a walking cupcake if I’m wearing it. It will weigh me down also, you won’t be able to see me later, all you see is the gown *LOL*. If it’s like the purple gown then it’s OK. I don’t like “big” gown, I don’t want to be a walking cupcake! πŸ˜› Sorry… I see many brides like to wear such “big” gowns and I just can’t help it but to think of them as walking cupcakes -.- Especially if they are short and petite like me hahaha…

After the event, the models signed their names on the backdrop.

That’s all. Enjoy the girls from KL and the clothes πŸ˜›
