My journey in discovering myself in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia while fulfilling my dream to study overseas.

Kangaroo Island – Part 3

Posted on December 12, 2012December 12, 2012 By sweet surrender No Comments on Kangaroo Island – Part 3

The missing Little Sahara photos.

Didn’t snowboard though, too hot and too lazy to go all the way up. Very sandy too! I might suffer from blindness if I did. Sand is a big no-no for contact lens wearer.

After Little Sahara we went to the wildlife park. Then we headed to KI Spirits for alcohol tasting!! Many people were looking forward to this, including me.

I bought a bottle as souvenir. I bought:

Honey and Walnut Liqueur
Made with freshly roasted Walnuts and Kangaroo Islands famous Ligurian Honey. A rich and spicy dessert liqueur great on ice cream or with coffee (affogato) – recently described as liquid hot cross buns.
33% Alc/vol

I’m not gonna drink this, it will be part of my collection back home *LOL* At first I wanted to buy Pink Lily Strawberry Liqueur but they didn’t have smaller bottle as I didn’t want a big one, too hard and too heavy to move around since I need to move from one place to another and need to get it back all the way to Malaysia.

Our last stop, for dinner, pizza dinner at Hog Bay.

Group photos 🙂 Many Malaysians on this trip.

Finally! I stepped foot on Kanagaroo Island. Will I go back again? No… Once is enough. Not that it’s not good, it was good but just not my type of destination that I will revisit unless it’s all expenses paid hehehe…

Kangaroo Island – Part 2

To the seal we go…

Blue blue sky, blue blue sea, and a baby seal looking for its mother.

First time see such creature with my own eyes! Always it was on TV. Never thought would have the chance to see the real ones.

After that, we headed to Vivione Bay for simple lunch. Not sure what’s the name of this accommodation though ;p didn’t pay attention.

Next we headed to Little Sahara for sandboarding. I forgot to edit this photos! -.-” Will make it up in the next post.

Then, we went to Parndana Wildlife Park for kangaroo feeding, koala spotting and so on. It’s not a very big place. Was expecting it to be something huge but it’s very small and intimate park.

The highlight would be feeding the kangaroo. You’re on Kangaroo Island! It’s a must to see and feed kangaroo! Else, how is the trip gonna be complete? Even though you can always do it at other places in Australia, the species here different from those on the mainland. So that’s the unique part.

Finally, said goodbye to Stanley Bites. He would give you huge reaction and cry!!

After this place, we went for spirit tasting. To be continued…

Kangaroo Island – Part 1

Posted on December 6, 2012December 5, 2012 By sweet surrender No Comments on Kangaroo Island – Part 1

Finally I went to Kangaroo Island after missing two chances last year and this year organized by the uni. I got an e-mail that one of the travel agents here is offering it for AUD170 for a day trip, I didn’t think twice but went for it because it’s so cheap! Usually it will cost at least AUD250 for even a day trip!

On 24th November, 6am, I headed to the bus station to join the tour.

Excited!

Left: Bye mainland! We’re heading to the island.
Right: First stop, Prospect Hill.

Had to climb all the way up using the stairs of course. In the middle of the day! Fricking hot!

I’m on top! Very hot!!!

After that, we headed to see seals as Seal Bay!

While waiting for the group to gather for seal watch, we just roam around the information centre.

Gonna see the seals soon…

Cape Jervis – Part 2

Posted on December 4, 2012 By sweet surrender No Comments on Cape Jervis – Part 2

Continuation from part 1 of Cape Jervis trip. We went to Deep Creek Conservation Park.

Have to pay to get in. AUD10 per car. No one will collect the money from you but you are required to be honest. Pay and take the permit to be displayed on your car to show that you’ve paid. Lots of wild kangaroo around. They’re harmless though.

It was such a hot day! I got sunburn on my forehead as I didn’t wear a hat or cap -.-”

Beautiful scenery. Definitely cannot see this in Malaysia.

It was rather tiring. Not supposed to be a hiking trip but we ended up hiking for hours!

The hard work paid off but it’s so hard to get back to our car. It’s just too far away but we had to as it’s getting late.

Lots of flies too, very annoying yuck! Well… That’s what usually you’ll get in Australia. When the time is hot, the flies come out to play!

That’s the end of my day trip to Cape Jervis.

Cape Jervis – Part 1

Posted on December 2, 2012 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Cape Jervis – Part 1

Went to Cape Jervis 3 weeks ago with some friends from church. I’ll just let the photo do the talking. Such lazy way to blog hahaha…

Just a brief introduction about Cape Jervis.

It is the pick up and drop off point for daily car and passenger ferry services to Kangaroo Island.

It’s approximately 108 km south of Adelaide.

Left: What a contrast!
Right: The ferry to Kangaroo Island. I was on the ferry last Saturday. Will post about it.

This post is just showing the photos along the way to Deep Creek Conservation Park.

Will have more photos coming soon!

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
