My journey in discovering myself in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia while fulfilling my dream to study overseas.

Hahndorf-Part 1

Posted on April 26, 2011April 30, 2011 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Hahndorf-Part 1

YAY! Finally I’m in Hahndorf. It’s about half hour drive from the city if I recall correctly.

Not gonna say much, I’ll just let the photos do the talking ;p

One thing for sure, the place is nice and relaxing.

Autumn is the best time to go because the trees are changing colour. Very nice scenery.

Camwhore of course hehehe…

Left: My fav flower, tulips. It’s my very first time seeing a real one. Don’t you think it looks fake? It’s real. Found it in a shop.

When you are there, you must feast! The generous portion of German food was really generous. We had ours at The Hahndorf Inn Hotel. The place of packed and the reservation list was full! The lady whom got us a seat was really really friendly and gave us very good customer service. I guess it’s because of my charming friend *LOL*

We had A Taste of Germany Platter (AUD59.90). Holy smoke! It was huge, can feed at least 3-5 people. There were only 3 of us and I’ve never eat so much pork in my life! Really tasty but very salty too. We had to drink plenty of plain water after that. The menu stated that it serves 2 but it’s really too much for 2 for people like us.

There’s Bockwurst, Weisswirst, Cheese Kransky and Vienna sausages, smoked Pork Kassler Chop and Pork Knuckle. Served with Rhine potato, sauerkraut, 2 prestsels, and a selection of German mustards.

2 thumds up for it. This is my most expensive and luxurious lunch so far. We couldn’t finish the sausages and brought it back with me.

Part 2 coming…

Happy Easter 2011

Posted on April 24, 2011April 24, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Happy Easter 2011

Happy Easter! Enjoying your holiday? Australia is having a long holiday in conjunction of Good Friday, Easter, and Anzac Day. Went to Handorf yesterday, spent half the day there. Gonna blog about it soon. Then after that went over to my friend’s bro’s house at the suburb and stayed there for a night.

In the afternoon, we headed back to the city and saw this on the bus so we decided to take a look at it.

It’s an event by Awakening Australia. Recorded the songs, file is quite big. Will try to upload it soon. I still owe you the video of the dolphine in Port Adelaide ;p

Left: The crowd there.

Right: They have free pancakes there. The pancakes were nice.

After that, we headed home. So exhausted! Gonna wake up early tomorrow for the Anzac Day parade. Early night tonight! Good night!

Good Friday 2011

Posted on April 22, 2011April 24, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Good Friday 2011

It’s Good Friday today.

First thing in the morning, I went to church with my friend, she came to pick me up. Finally… After more than 15 years. Hadn’t meet each other after completing our primary education. It was also my first holy communion in Adelaide. I should have record the choir singing, it was a lovely song.

Then in the afternoon, I went to uni to use the computer so that I can complete one of my journals and also to watch the series I missed.

Just now, I spent the whole night watching TV with another friend sharing pizza and damper.

Going to Handorf tomorrow!!! Looking forward it.

KFC Street Wise

Posted on April 21, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on KFC Street Wise

After visitng Port Adelaide, we went to the nearby KFC for lunch. Believe it or not? I’ve been here for almost a month but I had never eaten KFC even though there’s one downstair the place I’m staying *LOL*

Ordered the Streetwise Double Crunch Burger meal (AUD5.95). It came with a can of Pepsi.

Left: Chips/Fries. I like it, it’s so different from Malaysia’s. The seasoning was a bit too much for me though. Still, it’s OK.

Right: Double Crunch Burger.

There you go… Quite nice, even when it’s already cold. The KFC here is really nice than back home. I heard so much of people saying the KFC here tastes good. Indeed! Finally tasted it.

Don’t worry, I won’t go downstair to get it. It’s still a bit too pricey for me. Not something I can indulge in always. It’s a luxury hahaha…

Slacking

Posted on April 20, 2011April 20, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Slacking

Ok… I’m slacking now ;p I mean from blogging. Can’t find time to edit those photos and post. Been pretty busy trying to get a hang of my study. Post grad is totally different from undergrad. The workload is pretty heavy. Even though I have only 2 classes per week but the workload can be a one week workload or even more.

Has been very hardworking doing my reading and research these days. I’ve never touch my books like this before -.-” Expectations and requirements are so different. Even go to uni every day to do research and use the Internet but I don’t use it to update my blog. This one is only for when I’m back home. I’ve been getting home late these days(broke my personal record of reaching home at 12am and spent more than 12 hours outside of the house doing study related stuffs), by the time I got myself settled down, it’s time for me to sleep already.

Anyway, I have 5 marketing journals need to do, 1 business report, 2 presentations, and 1 group project. That’s quite a lot for only 2 subjects right?

I remember how I used to be the one who helped my friends with their assignments and projects. I can’t believe now I need people to help me to adapt and teach me research skills here. The skills is different from what I had done back home in previous studies. Good thing, I have friends here who are ready to help me even without me asking. Once I got the hang of it, it shouldn’t be a problem since this is my first time attending a full-time university education, what’s more a level higher than what I had done before.

Long holiday this weekend! Wonder will I be spending it doing research or go out to places of interest?

We’ll see. That’s all for now. Need to sleep.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
