Sigh… nothing much to do again… want to work but could’t work. Stuck!!! So decided to go to the beach to relax but… sigh… forget it! Thought of want to rant here but I think I better don’t waste my time ranting about it. Don’t want to spoilt the mood. See photos…

Left: Volley ball facility is available there, it’s on first come first serve basis. Bring your own ball and your own netting will do.
Right: You can go kayaking there too.

Since we couldn’t go in there, next stop was

Gawai BBQ – Alysha’s House

Posted on June 1, 2006 By sweet surrender No Comments on Gawai BBQ – Alysha’s House

Alysha was having a BBQ session at her place. So went over before 6pm to help up but then the person in charge of the grill only turned up about 45 minutes later. So nothing much we could do, we just lazed around while waiting for him.

Finally… the guys started to make fire with newspapers. The charcoals we used were made from coconut shells. This is the first time I came across coconut shell charcoals. When it’s burnt, there some sort of weird smell produced. Not so sure how to describe it but ewwwwwww… hate that smell ;p

Fried mee hoon by Yin Mei.
Paul in charge of the BBQ ;p because we were all too lazy, we only want to eat but didn’t want to work hahaah…

Later in the evening, Alysha‘s parents bought fried noodle and fried mee hoon for us because worried that the food wasn’t enough for 12 of us but who knows… just two chicken wings, some hotdogs and a plate of fried mee hoon from Yin Mei, we were full.

Not to forget Alysha’s parents also bought some corns back for us to BBQ. Yummy, I love BBQ corn. The corn was sweet. Then we had dessert, ice cream with cones. Corn and cone? ;p The orange portion of the ice cream is mango, purple is yam and yellow is corn(I think…) or durian hahaha…

After that, we started our karaoke session ;p Paul and Jimmy hogged the mic most of the time. Most people didn’t want to sing and guess what songs we sang the whole night? Sad love songs… strange huh?

We ended the session at around 10.30pm. Off we went home. Thanks Alysha for letting us to use your house for the BBQ.

Chinese Restaurants in Kuching

Posted on May 16, 2006 By sweet surrender No Comments on Chinese Restaurants in Kuching

These photos are courtesies of HonFui, Ken and my sis. HonFui provides the locations’ photos. Ken and my sis provides the food photos of Li Garden. Thanks.

For those of you that is hunting for Chinese restaurants for your wedding/birthday or whatever dinner/function. Here are some well-known ones in Kuching. I’m not commenting about their food. Just going to show you the photos.

I’m kinda fed up with all these restaurants’ food already especially for those chinese wedding/functions dinner. I need something "fresh" plssssssssss… been to heaps of dinner functions like this. Especially the Chinese ones that the waiters or waitresses will serve plate after plate of food. Usually it’s like 6-course, 8-course, 9-course or n-course dinner. Getting tired of it, imagine that you have to attend dinner functions at least once a month at these places for the past years. Not to mention, hotels too. Lucky not much to attend last year and this year. Hmm… less than 5 times a year now. Used to be like at least 12 times a year. Phew… Thank God!

Their food is just food when I’m there no matter how good it is, I just put into my mouth, chewed and swallowed, that’s it. No feeling LOL… So enjoy the the photos. I couldn’t give you full contact of these restaurants because I don’t have duh… ;p just feast your eyes.

Tsui Hua Lau, located along Ban Hock Road.

Left: Tsui Hua Lau
Right: Li Garden, inside Hock Lee building. Below are the food of Li Garden.

This is Joyous Shanghai, it’s part of Lok Thian Group. It’s situated in Lok Thian.

Lastly, I’m not sure of the english name for this. In Chinese, it’s "Dong Guan Jiu Lou" – Don Guan Restaurant(direct translation ;p). This is somewhere around Rock Road/Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce near Mc D. I’m not very sure how to describe the location hahaha…

So that’s all. Very busy lately. Will be a bit free after the election. Cheers!

Room @ Merdeka Palace

Posted on May 10, 2006June 23, 2022 By sweet surrender No Comments on Room @ Merdeka Palace

I was supposed to blog about this in March :p but lazy because too many pics to edit so decided to blog in parts. Summore, no camera now πŸ™

This is the standard room on 3rd floor. I’m not sure about the pricing. Actually I got this free voucher for a 2-days-1-night-stay that comes with a complimentary breakfast for two last year and would expired in April this year. Not to waste it, so decided to use it and can show you guys around this hotel.

Hmmm… this should be one of our five-star hotel in Kuching but… you judge for yourself LOL… I didn’t stay overnight there. Was supposed to use their swimming pool but silly me, I brought my black panty instead of my swimming suit’s bottom that happened to be black too. The first day, coulnd’t swim because of heavy rain. Second day, could swim but I only realised that I brought the wrong thing. Wasted.

The snacks on the cupboard are not free of charge and anything in the fridge are not free too. Some hotel provide complimentary mineral water but not Merdeka Palace. By the way, the snacks on the cupboard seemed to be there for ages, it has been collecting dust. LOL…

The tables.

The bed and the sink.

The towel and the hair dryer. No bathtub for standard room, only shower. Oh… when I went into the bathroom to do my business, I saw urine on the seat of the toilet. I flushed it off with water from the sink. Hmm…

The TV and the closet.
The view of standard room. Don’t expect a nice view of Padang Merdeka or the city skyline. All you see is the multi-level parking lots.*LOL*

So that’s all about the room.

Damai Beach ~ Good Morning & Goodbye(1st MAY 2006)

Posted on May 1, 2006 By sweet surrender No Comments on Damai Beach ~ Good Morning & Goodbye(1st MAY 2006)

WARNING: Bandwidth sucker and lengthy post!

So… it rained… no sunrise to see. Khoon How, LeeLing, Audrey, Lee and Hui Yee braced the drizzly rain at around 6.30am to walk at the beach and then went to breakfast.

Slept till about 8am. Everyone left for breakfast.Jimmy and I was the last one to leave after Ann and Jee. We had our breakfast at the resort’s restaurant. It was packed!!! I have no further comment on the service. Well… I guess it’s too many people I think. I didn’t have the chance to properly tried out many of their food because there were too many people and not enough cutlery to accomodate the number of people, not very satisfying spending about RM20++ for such a breakfast πŸ™ I regret that I should have wake up early and join them for early breakfast. I ended up with these(pic below), a cup of peach juice and a cup of tea. πŸ™ If I knew that I will end up with these, I would rather stay back in the room for breakfast with my instant cream corn soup, noodle in cup, tea with creamer and chrysanthemum tea.

I wanted pancake and omelet from the Eegg Section(below, left) but sigh… the queue was too long and I have no such time to wait at all. πŸ™

The picture on the right is Hilltop, it’s under the same resort but it’s located further up. Very expensive, RM700 per night for the up most accomodation, it has two storeys with kitchen, living and sleeping areas and washroom. It has very nice view too. It doens’t have its own restaurant there, you have to take the bus to go down for meals. The spa is located in this area too.

After breakfast, we went back to rearrange the beds into what they were supposed to be and cleared all the rubbish last night into the garbage bin outside the chalet. Then we went out for a walk since it’s still early before our 12pm check-out.

Some sceneries.

After the walk, we had some ice creams, it was so hot.

About 11.45am, we checked out and went to Expert and Jalan Song to calculate our expenditure so that we could all pay for our share. Each of us only pay RM54.60 quite affordable huh? Duh… of course! We wanted to save cost so we squeezed into a small room and sneakily cooked in our room else it wouldn’t be that cheap. If we went out for dinner, it will cost at least RM300-400.

Overall… the holiday is good… relaxed a bit but it’s not enough. I want more!! Eheheh… when is the next round? It was so fun.
