Shinsekai, Osaka | Osaka Ebisu Hotel Surrounding Overview

Posted on March 19, 2019July 16, 2019 By sweet surrender No Comments on Shinsekai, Osaka | Osaka Ebisu Hotel Surrounding Overview

I went to Osaka last year in August. It was summer. Only start posting about it now!! Hahaha… Packing was easy, was traveled rather light. Just bring whatever you wear in Malaysia is good enough.

The first two nights, we stayed at Shinsekai area. Very near the Tsutenkaku Tower, Spa World Osaka, Shinsekai market and Janjan Yokocho.

Not only that, the place we stayed was not far away from Ebisucho metro station exit. Very convenient place called Osaka Ebisu Hotel(1-21-2 Ebisuhigashi Naniwa-ku, Osaka, Japan, 556-0002). You can consider this area if you come to Osaka. It’s definitely cheaper than many other areas and easy access to the metro station.

The place wasn’t packed with tourists though. Quite a contrast with other tourist spots in Osaka. It used to be a very happening place but seemed to be neglected. Then again, if you want to visit those places I mentioned above, this is the area where they located. Even the zoo too.

There are many fugu (blowfish) restaurants in Shinsekai. The most famous is Zubora. You definitely will not miss the fugu hanging up there. We didn’t try any of the eateries in this area except the convenience stores. How strange right? Hahaha… We didn’t have much plans planned out for this trip. We just went with the flow.

We just walked around the area without any aim. We came across Shinsekai Inari Shrine. Just popped in for a quick look.

Lastly, this is the night view of Shinsekai. Very colourful but without the crowd.

[Vlog] Ep. 3: Where To? – Kuching to Newcastle

Posted on March 15, 2019April 12, 2019 By sweet surrender No Comments on [Vlog] Ep. 3: Where To? – Kuching to Newcastle

Third episode is up!

My first attempt in documenting my journey from Kuching to Newcastle. Not very satisfied with this video, I looked rather horrible too hahaha… Did the introduction and ending right after I woke up hahah… Brain wasn’t functioning too well. No tripod for this video 😛 Such a long journey from Kuching to Newcastle but still cannot break the record of me flying from Adelaide to Busan via Singapore *LOL*. This is my first time using British Airways and also first time on a Dreamliner.

This time around, I’m using Huawei Nova 2 Lite and Canon IXUS 285 HS for filming. Edit was done on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2S with Filmigo app. Thank you for the support 🙂

Convenience Stores in Japan

Posted on March 10, 2019March 7, 2019 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Convenience Stores in Japan

When it comes to Japan, the first thing that will come to my mind is its convenience stores. It is extremely convenient! You can find it everywhere! You don’t even need to worry about not having anything to eat or if you run out of some daily necessities. Not only that, paying bill, withdraw money, doing banking, printing, faxing and etc. are also part of the things you can do in there.

When I was in Japan last year in August, my first meal was gyoza that I bought from 7-Eleven. It was almost midnight when I reached the hotel. Was feeling kind of hungry and my travel companion suggested to go to the nearest convenience store to buy food. They will heat the food up for you.

All these food here in this post were almost our everyday meals *LOL* Very affordable and delicious. You don’t even need to go to a restaurant for food. If you are travel with tight budget, you can be assured that the convenience stores in Japan will not let you go hungry. So many choices to choose from.

The major convenience store brands in Japan are 7-Eleven, Lawson, and Family Mart. You can find them everywhere! We spent a lot of time in these shops too because there were so much to see in there. Just looking at the instant noodles and snacks varieties was enough to make us went “wow, wow, wow”.

It’s a must-go when you are in Japan and it’s going to help those who like to enjoy Japan without burning a big hole in their pockets.

[Vlog] Ep 2: What’s Inside?- DK 3888 Mobile Phone & Camera Tripod

Posted on March 6, 2019March 3, 2019 By sweet surrender No Comments on [Vlog] Ep 2: What’s Inside?- DK 3888 Mobile Phone & Camera Tripod

Woohooo!! I did not expect to come out a second video after one week of releasing the first one. This time, it’s a simple(not simple at all, all in all, it took me 12 hours to finalize it) unboxing video of DK 3888 Mobile Phone & Camera Tripod.

In case you are curious and would like to get a cheap and good tripod, here’s the key features:

1. Max height: Approx. 1020mm
2. Min height: Approx. 345mm
3. Weight: 420g
4. Bluetooth remote shutter with battery included (compatible with iOS and Android 4.3 and above)
5. 3-way pan/tilt head
6. Quick lever lock
7. Aluminum legs
8. Built-in level

You can get it at most computer shops and online. It should cost less than RM40(online price). I’m not sure how much is mine because someone bought it for me as a gift.

I’m using both Huawei Nova 2 Lite and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2S for filming. Edit was done on the tab with Filmigo app. Hence, the editing is a bit choppy because it’s quite impossible to trim the video in a very precise manner. Nothing fancy.

Thanks to many of you for the support and encouragement in this new project of mine. I still can’t stand seeing myself in the video hahaha… Still a long long way to go. Anyway, see you in the next episode 😘

Portable 4G WiFi for Taiwan and Japan (Airport Pickup)

Posted on March 2, 2019March 11, 2019 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Portable 4G WiFi for Taiwan and Japan (Airport Pickup)

Before I start my Japan travel blog posts, I’m going to share this 4G WiFi I used when I go to Taiwan and Japan last year. I bought them from Klook. I opted to collect them at the airport since I’m living in Kuching, there is no way I can go to the respective offices in West Malaysia to collect and they also do not provide shipping of the device to this part of Malaysia. Nevertheless, it was effortless to collect at the airport. All you need to do is go the the shop/kiosk located at the airport to collect them.

For Taiwan, I collected it at the arrival floor of the Taipei Taoyuan airport. Just show them your passport, printed or mobile voucher, pay deposit which they will charge to your credit card, then they will return you the deposit when you return the device. It works great without any problem at all. We had at least 5 devices connecting to it each time and battery life was pretty amazing. We charged it every night. This is the one I purchased, 4G WiFi (TW Airport Pick Up) for Taiwan. I do not have photo of it though, forgot to take picture of it.

For Japan, I collected it at KLIA2 at Roaming Man shop. Also fast and easy. Show your proof of purchase and passport. I don’t think there was deposit being collected though(if I recall correctly, it’s was over half year ago! ;p). You will get your unit and you are ready to go! Oh ya, it won’t work in Malaysia even if you switch it on, so save the battery. Only switch it on when you arrive Japan. The battery lasted very long! We were out whole day, using it, not a single problem at all. The signal was good. We only need to charge it after using it for 2 days and we have at least 3 devices connected to it at any one time. We were in Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe.

This is the one I bought, here’s the link to check it out, 4G WiFi (MY Airport Pick Up) for Japan.

Overall, I have good experience with them. Feel free to check them out at Klook.
