Day 5 in Beijing. After breakfast, we checked out of Holiday Inn Express Beijing Tongzhou. Then, we were taken to Beijing Zoo. This was actually an optional activity. Meaning, you need to add it and pay for it on the spot during the tour. The tour guide will be the one collecting the money from you.
We did not want to join any optional activity. The activity includes a shopping mall visit (Chaoyang Hopson One; we visited it on the first day due to heavy rain), an acrobatic show, and Beijing Zoo. Due to unforeseen circumstances- the heavy rain on the first day- we were forced to take this optional add-on. Oh well… Sometimes, you just have to give and take. Just glad that our tour fee was heavily discounted and we had a very small group; it’s OK. We’re here to have fun; no point in arguing and ruining the trip.
Once we reached our new hotel, Wanda MOMENTS Beijing Dongba Hotel , immediately after we checked in, we went straight to the shopping mall, which is connected to the hotel, to get dinner. Initially, we wanted to get KFC, but they only support app ordering. So, we went to McDonald’s instead. After dinner, we called it a night. It’s free and easy the next day but we’re still going to wake up early because we want to enjoy the buffet breakfast.
