Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley Day Trip (Part 3)

Posted on October 14, 2011October 16, 2011 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley Day Trip (Part 3)

Off we went to Barossa Valley after Adelaide Hills. This is where the wine lovers will want to go…

Left: Such nice view! We stopped here to take some photos.
Right: First stop was Schild Estate.

Quite a cosy place.

Of course, I tried the wine. I had few sips of wine the night before, then half glass of wine at 5am that day after clubbing. Next, had wine again visiting here. I’m no wine expert, so don’t ask me what’s good or what’s not. I just tried them for the sake of trying. So I was basically drinking the whole time while I was awake that time ;p

Left: Passed by Jacob’s Creek.
Right: Next, we went to Grant Burge, I’m sure this is no stranger to wine lovers. The scenery was sooooo beautiful.

Never thought that I will have the chance to see such scenery but now I’m here, seeing it with my own eyes. In case you are wondering… It’s the vineyard.

Wine tasting again… I tasted the most wine here, red and white.

Since it’s spring and the weather was great, camwhore for sure!

Love the views!

After this, we went to another winery. Will post soon.

Oh Needles!

Posted on October 12, 2011October 14, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Oh Needles!

I think many of you don’t know yet… I don’t think I announce this before because it’s not confirmed yet. Or did I mentioned about it? I think I did. Whatever it is, here’s the progress, I’m shortlisted.

I had applied to be an exchange student in one of the universities in Busan, Korea, next year January for 3 weeks. It’s a schorlarship. I’m currently in the midst of getting the needed documents ready for submission and wait for green light from the Korea’s side. Submitted everything except medical exam report. Need to be certified that I’m not Hepatitis B and TB carrier.

Went to one medical centre to another just to get the test done and made appointment. Luckily it’s all nearby, around the corner.

Left: Yesterday, went to the Chest Clinic to get a Tuberculin Skin Test. Will go back on Friday to get the result.
Right: Today, went to get my blood tested for Hepatitis B, result will be out Friday or Monday.

Two continuous days greeted by needles for the sake of getting myself certified “clean” for application submission. It’s a good thing my OHSC covered them else I’ll be sooooo broke!

I hope I’ll get it after going tru’ all these troubles. *Finger crossed* If I got it, I’ll be blogging from Korea next year and spend my CNY there.

Wasai Japanese Kitchen

Posted on October 11, 2011October 11, 2011 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Wasai Japanese Kitchen

Had farewell dinner with my one of my colleagues (who is also my coursemate) at Wasai last week. It’s a Japanese restaurant located at 9-15 Field Street, basically at Chinatown.

This is my very first Japanese food in Adelaide. We ordered Momoji(AUD105) to share among 4-5 people. It’s special selections of Wasai’s most popular dishes.

In fact, you can even share with 6 or 7 people if all of you are not very big eater. The most expensive dinner I had, I paid AUD30 for my portion which include 2 bottles of sake(shared among 10 people, if I recalled correctly) which I only drank a small cup. Soooo broke! It’s only beginning of October and AUD30 gone just for one meal… Oh well… It’s the company that counts. The most just have to be very careful in spending this month. What’s more last month overshoot my expenditure limit ;p

Left: The chili powder and soy sauce.
Right: Complimentary edamame was served.

Momoji consisted of…

Left: Deluxe Sushi + Sashimi Boat, goodness! It was so gooooooooooooooood… The shashimi was so fresh! Love it! Haven’t eaten any good Japanese food for so loooooooooooong.
Right: Agedashi Tofu, very soft and tasty. *slurp*

Left: Soba Salad, very nice too. OH! Everything was nice.
Right: Tempura consists of prawns, fish and assorted vegetables. All the ingredients were so fresh.

Left: Teriyaki Chicken. It was cooked to perfection.
Right: Seafood Miso Hotpot, it’s quite salty but it’s quite tasty. By the time this was served, we’re so stuffed already.

Overall, the food was good, at least my AUD30 (just don’t do the conversion ok?!? Hahaha…) for this meal was worth it. Highly recommded. Just too expensive for me… I really miss quality Japanese cuisine. At least this was good enough to fix my crave until don’t-know-when.

How “Clever”

Posted on October 9, 2011October 9, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on How “Clever”

Sigh… Such feelings sucks to the max.

I’m here to escape the reality I’m facing back home, now here… It’s the same thing happening here. Less than 6 months ago, I got to know them, we were in the same boat. Now… They are going to the next phase of life in less than 2 months. Both at the same time! I’m again the only one not progressing. This was exactly how I felt when I was back home.

Everyone is going to the next phase one by one and yet I’m still stuck in the same damn phase. What a “clever” solution for coming here to escape the reality. It sure bites.

Where are you? OH! How desperate?!?! Hahaha… Well… I guess I shouldn’t be looking too hard, “he” will come when you least expected it but then… Reality still bites. I’m running out of time. Not the biological clock. I meant my stay here… I’m already here for 6 months! I’m half way tru’ my program. Time sure flies.

Oh yea… You cannot escape the reality no matter where you go…

Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley Day Trip (Part 2)

Posted on October 8, 2011October 8, 2011 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley Day Trip (Part 2)

Continue from part 1…

The Toy Factory… All sort of wooden toys can be found here.

I guess children nowadays are not interested in playing toys like this anymore. Reminded me of my childhood. We didn’t even have video games or computers or any fancy plastics toys. All we played were toys like this. Also, nowadays, if you see such toys in one’s house, it’s likely as a decoration instead of for playing hahaha…

The Wildlife Park, get up close and personal with the animals. You can even feed them too but we didn’t. These are some of the birds found there. Very beautiful colour.

Ok… I’m not going to name the animals one by one hehehe… You go figure out yourself, I’ll just show you the photos:

There you go… Finally I touched a kangaroo! Hahaha…

Barossa Valley next…
