Rundle Mall Spring/Summer Fashion Parades 2011 – Part 1

Posted on October 22, 2011October 23, 2011 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Rundle Mall Spring/Summer Fashion Parades 2011 – Part 1

So… It happened approximately a month ago! Only post it now hahaha… Posted 2 videos for it quite awhile back, now it’s the photos.

Spring is here but it’s ending, summer will be here really soon. Can feel the heat already.

Can wear less now! YAY!

That’s all for now, I’m heading out! Can’t stand staying home. Can’t resist the sun but I’m going to the uni’s computer lab instead to get inspirations on one of my assignments hahaha… So pathetic… Maybe later head to the river. How I wish time like this I have someone to spend the time with.

Adelaide’s National Parks

Posted on October 21, 2011October 22, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Adelaide’s National Parks

While I’ve been updating my blog recently with some great experiences I had in Adelaide, there are still many places that I haven’t get the chance to go and hope I’ll be able to go there in the near future. Here’s a quick rundown:

Cleland Conservation Park

The largest national park in the Adelaide area, and it’s definitely one of the best places to see native Australian animals. The park is located only 20 minutes from the city. Even though it doesn’t offer many recreation opportunities, it does promise to display wallabies, kangaroos, koalas, waterfowl, emus, and more. These animals are amazing, and at Cleland you not only can look at them, but you can often feed and hold them, too.

I hope I can see real koala soon. You know those online banners, adverstising free phones or paid surveys, that show koalas climbing around the edges? Well, that’s my only experience with them.

Belair National Park

Belair offers a slightly different experience than Cleland. If you’re looking for abundance of animals, Belair probably isn’t the place to go. But if you seek tennis courts, hiking trails, or big grassy expanses to go picnic, Belair is the park for you. It’s also a great place to bring the kids; the park even includes an adventure playground. This would be most first choice destination for a family trip, and it has one more added bonus: it’s not far from the city center.

Morialta Conservation Park

This park is the place to go for hiking trails near Adelaide. Located right near the Adelaide hills, the park has many hiking trails – of all difficulty levels – and an area where you can rock climb. Many of the trails go past waterfalls and look out over the city, which makes them a great activity to do with an out-of-town guest. I hope maybe I will go rock climbing there someday.

I hope you enjoyed my introduction to Adelaide’s natural parks. Also, not forgetting Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary. I’ll be sure to keep you updated if I manage to visit these places.

Such Days…

Posted on October 20, 2011October 20, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Such Days…

I’m supposed to update something but I’ve been pretty busy these days with assignments and trying to keep myself occupied with things instead of spending it in front of the computer.

Last Saturday, I went to attend an art exhibtion launch at the uni’s art museum and had 1 glass plus of champagne and lots of crackers, cheese, strawberry, and apricot. I was the only Asian there. I didn’t expect them to serve various types of alcoholic drinks. Instead of going for the non-alcoholic drinks, I went for the champagne ;p Hmm… It’s just alcohol to me, nothing special, I’m no expert in it. I’m just drinking it for the sake of trying.

Then on Wednesday, another art exhibition launch at the uni’s student lounge. I went there not expecting anything but some food and non-alcoholic drinks just to settle my dinner. Who knows the bar was open and there’s FREE booze available! Hahaha… My friend went for the beer. I thought I’ll just went for Coke but ended up with Moscato ;p We never expect they will serve free alcohol, free flow some more!

I didn’t even drink back home yet I’ve been drinking almost at least once a week here since last month. What’s more… I didn’t even pay a single cent for them. Let me get this straight, I’m just drinking them for the sake of trying different type of alcoholic drinks as an experience because I’ll never have the chance to do so after my stint here. Besides, I do not want to pay to drink hehehe… Same as I do not want to pay for cover charge for clubbing. I never drink more than 2 glasses each time. With all these, I still don’t find drinking is fun simply because I just don’t like the taste of alcohol. So far, I had never got drunk or high or even turned red after drinking. So… It means I didn’t drink so much. Give me fruit juice, chocolate or plain water anytime.

Today, I got an electric shock! WTF! -.-” the universal adapter was faulty, I didn’t know the plug fell off and I accidentally touched the exposed metal on the adapter and got a shock! It lasted for less than 2 seconds I guess but it was a horrifying experience. That’s not a bit of electricity there, it’s directly from the power outlet! I’m so worry that it’ll cause an after effect or something. All I can say is thank God that I’m still here typing this post. My guardian angel is looking after me.

Second last… I’ve been contemplating to do double masters instead of just one master degree so that I get to study 2 years fulltime to fulfill the key PR application requirement *LOL* However, by the time I graduated, the requirements will change again. It’s getting stricter year by year and the 2-year requirement might not hold anymore. Oh well… I’ll just go with the flow, you’ll never know what they change again by then. Worst comes to the worst, go home after I’m done with my graduate diploma. If I’m lucky I can extend my stay to do my master degree. If there’s an opportunity or a strong reason for me to stay back, I’ll take it no matter what! Just the main problem now is money, I don’t have such luxury to stay here for so long and the exchange rate is NUTS!

One last thing… I wish I will be able to see him tomorrow… It’s been weeks. Ever since my shift changed, I don’t see him anymore. I really would like to get to know him. I know where he works, near my apartment but I’m not that crazy or have the time to stalk him! Sigh… I’ve been letting chance go one by one because I’m too shy or I’m always one step too slow in things like this 🙁 HELL YEA! I’m shy! Just because I can get along with guys it doesn’t mean I can get the guy I want. When it comes to someone that I have special feelings with, it’s another ball of game. Need to change, must not be shy anymore. No matter what, I MUST find chance to get to know him before it’s too late.

That’s all for now, time to sleep. Going to work tomorrow.

Farewell Dinner at Ky Chow

Posted on October 18, 2011October 18, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Farewell Dinner at Ky Chow

One of my friends here is leaving… Gonna miss her soooooo much! She’s one of the friends here that I can share my problems with especially in the relationship department, we have the same expectations, we understand what each other had gone tru’ which usually most people will not understand, no wonder we clicked. We’ve only known each other for 6 months but we had bonded, too bad now she’s back in Malaysia for good.

We went to Ky Chow again. This time for farewell dinner. Supposed to be 10 of us, at the end only 8 of us.

Left: Hot & Sour Seafood Soup (AUD4.50), it’s quite spicy if you can’t tolerate spiciness. The soup was quite thick. Sour and spicy enough.
Right: Shallot Pan Cake (AUD5), it wasn’t so bad.

Left: I don’t remember what’s this, had it previously. I can’t seem to locate it in the menu. Should be sweet & sour chicken, there’s sweet & sour pork in the menu though.
Right: Granny’s Bean Curd with Prawns Hot Pot (AUD14.80).

Left: Had Chinese Fruit Hawthorn Pork ribs (AUD11.80) previously too.
Right: Salty Fish Egg Plant Hot Pot (AUD10.80), had this previously too hahaha… Apparently my friends kept ordering the same dishes means these are the recommended ones by them.

Left: *LOL* I have no idea what is this. It’s a type of beef dish, tried to locate it in the menu but none of them ring a bell.
Right: Group photos. Our 2 male coursemates didn’t turn up last minute. It should left only 6 girls for the dinner but the other two brought their boyfriends(not our coursemates) along. Only 3 Malaysians, the rest were from different parts of China. I guess you can easily spot who are from Malaysia and who are from China 😉

Gonna miss my friend for sure. I sent her to the airport last Saturday. Thought I will not cry but ended up I cried -.-” ARG! So embarassing ;p

Sigh… Everyone is leaving yet I’m trying hard to stay.

Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley Day Trip (Part 4)

Posted on October 16, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley Day Trip (Part 4)

Final part of my Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley Day Trip. This also marks the end of my 3 crazy days in October.

After Grant Burge, we headed to another winery, Jacob’s Creek.

GOSH! It’s breathtaking!

The information centre of Jacob’s Creek.

Wine… Lot’s of wine, I think I didn’t try any of the wine here, don’t remember ;p

Imagine having a wedding here… It’s gonna be lovely!

Just one problem, it’s too far from civilisation hahaha… If I can afford it one day… When my day comes ;p

Almost the end of the trip… Amazing view!

We thought of stopping by The Whispering Wall but it was closed! It’s closed at 5pm and we reached there at 5pm.

There you go… Finally finish this post. Wonder should I post the Spring/Summer fashion parades or not. So many photos to filter and edit.
