My First Bloggers’ Meet

Posted on June 16, 2006January 14, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on My First Bloggers’ Meet

We had a simple meet up with some Kuching’s bloggers. It’s supposed to be discussing something but became a bloggers meet. Only the four of us, me, Jimmy, Wilson and Frank. We had it at Point One, BDC. Never been there, it’s my first time there.

The interiors. Pretty dark in there.

Our drinks… I can’t remember how much. ;p Nothing much, we just talked talked talked, about 9.30pm, more and more poeple coming in and more and more noisy. It’s because the World Cup had started. So we left. So that’s all. Waiting for Wilson to send the gathering photos. Oh… Thanks for the drinks Wilson.

I’m Married!

Posted on June 6, 2006 By sweet surrender No Comments on I’m Married!

It’s said that today is the day of devils but it’s also a day of many people tying their knots.

LOL… Me? Since when? Just pulling your legs. It’s Ann! She’s the one that exclaimed this ;p I’m just her witness. The whole process was FAST! We had not got into the mood and everything was done LOL… Jimmy and I reached Teochew Association at 2pm. Jimmy was the appointed photographer ;p but all the pic you see here were taken by me ehhehe… except the family pic, this is because all pictures taken by him were in Ann’s camera and some obstructions of view from the angle of the photographer. Then waited for Eric, Jee’s witness to come so that we can get the number. Finally he’s here and the number got was 005… too fast!!! Ehehehe… slower a bit will be 006, and it will 6 all the way ;p

The rings and the couple.

Me and Ann, Jee and Eric. Camwhore a bit while waiting ;p

One for the album with Jee’s and Ann’s family. Arggg.. my hair looked big! It’s time to trim! AHAHAAH…
<>br
It’s time! 005!
The signing ceremony was conducted in Mandarin, Jee and Ann were blurred with what the officer was talking about LOL… actually me too. Couldn’t catch what he said. It sounded something like this:

Officer: Mr. Jee, are you here without anyone forcing you?
Jee: Yes.
Office: Ms. Chung, are you here wihtout anyone forcing you?
Ann: Yes.
Officer: Mr. Jee, are you willing to take Ms. Chung as you wife *blah blah*…
Jee: Yes.
Officer: Ms. Chung, are you willing to take Mr. Jee as you husband *blah blah*…
Ann: Yes.
Officer: Now I pronounce you husband and wife. You are legally married and this will for your lifetime. During this period of time, you are not allow to marry again.*blah blah*…

DONE! Sign Sign sign… 3 copies to sign for the 4 of us.

The certificates.

After signing, it’s done and allowed to go but the couple wanted to exchange rings, so the officer let it be. Wow… Big diamond!! How many carat?

Then, Ann’s grandmather(her mom’s side) congratulated them and told them to love each and take care of each other. Then, she handed them "ang paos".

After "ang poas", she gave Ann a gold bracelet. Next… you can see for yourself.

Everything’s done. This was taken outside the room.

All the best to you, Ann! Congrates! Looking forward to 9th July for the tea ceremony and the reception πŸ™‚

Gawai BBQ – Alysha’s House

Posted on June 1, 2006 By sweet surrender No Comments on Gawai BBQ – Alysha’s House

Alysha was having a BBQ session at her place. So went over before 6pm to help up but then the person in charge of the grill only turned up about 45 minutes later. So nothing much we could do, we just lazed around while waiting for him.

Finally… the guys started to make fire with newspapers. The charcoals we used were made from coconut shells. This is the first time I came across coconut shell charcoals. When it’s burnt, there some sort of weird smell produced. Not so sure how to describe it but ewwwwwww… hate that smell ;p

Fried mee hoon by Yin Mei.
Paul in charge of the BBQ ;p because we were all too lazy, we only want to eat but didn’t want to work hahaah…

Later in the evening, Alysha‘s parents bought fried noodle and fried mee hoon for us because worried that the food wasn’t enough for 12 of us but who knows… just two chicken wings, some hotdogs and a plate of fried mee hoon from Yin Mei, we were full.

Not to forget Alysha’s parents also bought some corns back for us to BBQ. Yummy, I love BBQ corn. The corn was sweet. Then we had dessert, ice cream with cones. Corn and cone? ;p The orange portion of the ice cream is mango, purple is yam and yellow is corn(I think…) or durian hahaha…

After that, we started our karaoke session ;p Paul and Jimmy hogged the mic most of the time. Most people didn’t want to sing and guess what songs we sang the whole night? Sad love songs… strange huh?

We ended the session at around 10.30pm. Off we went home. Thanks Alysha for letting us to use your house for the BBQ.

Damai Beach ~ Arrival(30th APR 2006)

Posted on May 1, 2006June 23, 2022 By sweet surrender No Comments on Damai Beach ~ Arrival(30th APR 2006)

WARNING: Bandwidth sucker and lengthy post!

9 of us met at King’s Centre’s Daily Food Cafe (can’t remember the name). Jimmy ordered fast food. Ann and I ordered Sarawak Laksa. The rest ordered don’t-know-what. LOL…

After lunch, off we went up to Damai Beach. It’s one of Holiday Inn resorts .

Left: The beach…. so sweet… see the couple below the tree.
Right: The chalets surrounded by coconut trees. We lived in one of these. Don’t be fool that you will be staying in such a big chalet, it’s actually a chalet divided into 4 rooms.

The bathroom. We were supposed to check- in at 2pm but it’s not cleaned yet, so we were told to go to the room 45 minutes later but when we reached there at the said time, it’s not cleaned yet. So we put our things in first and waited for them to clean the room. When the room service arrived, we went out for a walk. After some times, we went back to check out whether the room is cleaned or not and finally… it’s cleaned! We quickly changed into our swimsuits and headed straight to play at the pool and the beach.

Here are some sceneries of the resort.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
