Bioglo Cherry Pink Lip Cream

Posted on February 3, 2014February 4, 2014 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Bioglo Cherry Pink Lip Cream

Bioglo Cherry Pink Lip Cream was given to me as a gift. Finally tried it out last few days. You can only buy this from Cosway.

This product claimed to be able to lighten your discoloured lips and also can be used on the nipple to lighten the nipple colour.

How is it?

Colour: It’s white but will change to pink after you applied on your lips or nipple. I didn’t try it on my nipple though ;p Only lips. I really like the colour. Very natural looking.

Ease of application: The consistency isn’t creamy or the normal texture you find in lip gloss or cream. A brush is included with the product to allow better application. The texture is kind of clotted and dry but once it touches the lips, it will melt.

Result: Colour is great but I noticed my lips peeled at the end of the day. Then on the second day, after using it, I have a small bump on my lower lip which reminded me of the previous reaction I had when I used a lip balm that caused my lips to develop lots of tiny bumps causing it to be rough but I don’t remember which one, I thought I blogged about it before but can’t seem to find it. I guess this is not suitable for me. Likely that I’m allergic to certain ingredients in there.

Ingredients:
Cyclopentasiloxane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Beeswax, Hydrogenated polyisobutene, Isodecane, Shea butter, Octyl palmitate, Jojoba ester, Squalene, Glyceril dibehenate, Tribehenin, Glyceryl behenate, Prunus yedoensis leaf extract ( Sakura flower), Crithmum maritimum extract, Cl 45410

To end the post, here you go ;p I’m using Bioglo Cherry Pink Lip Cream in these photos.

Hoyu Bigen Prominous Milky Color Light Mahogany Copper Brown

Posted on January 29, 2014January 29, 2014 By sweet surrender No Comments on Hoyu Bigen Prominous Milky Color Light Mahogany Copper Brown

The last time I coloured my own hair was in Adelaide, that time I was using Kao Japan Liese Bubble Hair Color Dark Chocolat. The colour was still visible until today before I colour it again. At the hair end of course. I thought of going back to use the same brand but I saw Hoyu Bigen Prominous Milky Color Light Mahogany Copper Brown which was much cheaper.

Was attracted to it because of the comb applicator. Apparently, it’s not as easy as using bubble hair colour. I got my mum to help me with the application. I don’t think I will be able to do it easily myself. The smell was strong but compare to others that I came across, it’s less strong.

I didn’t really want to buy Light Mahogany Copper Brown at first, was looking for something brown rather than reddish. At the end, I ended up with this reddish shade because that’s what left on the shelf, there’s the “brown” word there and because it was cheap, was on sale, it was less than RM20 if not mistaken. So decided to take the risk ;p

After 30 minutes, I washed it off. I washed until the water and shampoo were clear from dye. However, when I tried to dry my hair with my white towel… OH NO! Stained! Not that much but still obvious. It’s common anyway to have this happening.

The colour wasn’t obvious. Only very obvious under the sun and it’s red! The colour that I really don’t want as it seems like this colour is on everyone’s head these days! Oh well… At least it’s not obvious. Will trim my hair after CNY.

Ready for horse year?!?!

Kusmi Tea

Posted on January 23, 2014January 25, 2014 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Kusmi Tea

So, I’m done with all my travel posts. No more. Don’t think there will be anymore to come with the new lifestyle I’m going to embark next month. Gonna miss all those freedom and flexibility.

Let’s talk about tea today. I bought Kusmi Tea from Paris last year. There were so many choices and I ended up buying the green tea range (I don’t remember the price). It came in 5 different flavours.

Kusmi Tea is a brand of tea with headquarters in Paris, France. The company, which produces Russian-style teas and tea blends, was established by Pavel Michailovitch Kousmichoff in 1867 in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Left: The top of the tin. These little tins are filled to the brim with 125gm of loose tea.

Right: Strawberry green tea, Sencha green tea flavoured with strawberry. This is one of my favourite. Strong strawberry smell and you could taste the strawberry’s sourness and sweetness too. Great for afternoon tea with your girlfriends. Very fun to drink.

Left: Rose green tea, Chinese tea flavoured and scented with rose petals. Another favourite of mine. Spot the rose petals? The pink bits are rose petals. Just by smelling and drinking it made me felt like I’m falling in love. I personally think that it’s a great tea to have with your loved one while enjoying the time together.

Right: Imperial label, Sencha green tea from China combined with orange, cinnamon, liquorice root and sea buckthorn berries. Great to drink it cold even though the blend was inspired from a traditional Russian drink served since the 12th century and drunk as a remedy against the harsh winter conditions. With sourness of orange, sweetness of cinnamon and liquorice and the taste of lemon and sea buckthorn combined with a hint of vanilla is unique. It doesn’t feel like you’re not drinking tea but some refreshing and fancy blend of beverage.

Left: Ginger-Lemon Green tea, Chinese green tea flavoured with lemon and ginger. May be drunk hot, or in the summertime, iced. Strong ginger and lemon smell and even taste. Drink it hot when you are having period for the ladies, it felt quite comforting. During the winter, it’s great to drink this hot while relaxing with your favourite book, TV shows, or loved ones.

Right: Spearmint Green Tea aka Green tea with Nana mint, Chinese green tea with Nana mint from Morocco. This is the one that could kill everything you tasted. Could even smell it even when the tin wasn’t opened. Once you tasted this, you can no longer taste any of the tea above, everything will taste like spearmint. I don’t like it, first thing that hit me was chewing gum! Too overwhelming. The smell lingered in the teapot too. Not only that, it stayed on your taste buds for God-knows how long. It took me quite awhile to forget this scent and even the after taste was there for days.

My first time reviewing tea hehehe… My first time buying loose tea too. I wasn’t into tea until I was in Adelaide. I was introduced to various types of tea from China which my friend bought every time he went for business trips. It’s interesting to taste so many types of tea in which each has its own characteristics. Too bad, can no longer enjoy tea with him.

KATE GOLDISH EYES PK-1

Posted on October 26, 2013November 1, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on KATE GOLDISH EYES PK-1

This post is supposed to post in June but I only got the mood to experiment with it recently. Was lucky to be one of those bloggers who got hold of KATE GOLDISH EYES, one of the latest eye makeup palettes from Kate. It was launched in May 2013.

KATE GOLDISH EYES contains two unique gold pearl powders – Real Gold Pearl, a pure gold pearl powder with 0.1% 24k REAL GOLD, and Nuance Gold Pearl, a bright pearl powder with a hint of gold. Combined in a beautiful eyeshadow palette, the two powders create a gorgeous shimmer that is glamorous and sophisticated. KATE GOLDISH EYES blends well with all skin tones to create stunning eyes.

Remember KATE’s event that I blogged about?

I was given with PK-1 while another one which I won was also PK-1. What’s the odd of getting two same palettes? I found out other bloggers got different colours, lucky them. Hence, I can only talk about PK-1 which is pink.

Top left to top right: Shiny gold(D) and soft beige(A)
Bottom left to right: Deep brown(B) and color gold(C)

A: Soft beige
B: Deep brown
C: Color gold (there are 4 colours to choose, mine is pink. Other choices are blue, gold, and white)
D: Shiny gold

The colour doesn’t look obvious right? What to do? The palette I was given was in natural tone. It’s actually what I like. However, I was hoping I can get another either white or gold. Not blue for me… I just don’t look good in that and it’s hard to match.

You don’t see I mark A in the photo as I was using it as base so it’s covered by B, C, D. However, soft beige can be good to be used alone to brighten up your eyes and achieve the no makeup look but only apply minimally, not too much.

The shiny gold is pretty impressive and versatile. Just a dab on the middle of your eyelid for the day look or to go to work while you can layer more to transform it into night look for that finishing touch.

Can you see the shiny gold effect? Without it, my eyes won’t pop and look bigger. Even the photo on the left that was taken with my phone was able to capture it.

While for color gold, I used it for highlight under the edge of my brow most of the time. You can also use it for the entire lid.

This is my original eyes LOL… No double eyelid tape. With my hidden double eyelids, it’s just too hard to play around with eye shadows, can’t even see the colour. Also makes my eyes look heavy on the top, flat, small, and tired. With a dab of shiny gold, it managed to give my eyes a bit of life and dimension.

Let’s see how eye makeup trend transformed from 2008-2013:
2008: Deep and contoured
2012: Colourless, clear, and contoured
2013: Sophisticated eye makeup combining gold colour with other colours

Nevertheless, for me, these trends are timeless. I love looking natural than having so much colour on my face.

My verdict? I absolutely love KATE GOLDISH EYES! Just this one box, you can take it from the day to night to anywhere. The retail price is RM59.

Bourjois Volume Clubbing Waterproof Mascara

Posted on October 23, 2013October 24, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Bourjois Volume Clubbing Waterproof Mascara

I had bought a new mascara few months back from UK. Didn’t do any research on what to buy, just simply decided on it on the spot. So, I ended up with Bourjois Volume Clubbing Waterproof Mascara (£7.99).

I was attracted to its waterproof claim some more with its claim saying that it’s tested at foam parties! I just gambled on and bought it.

When I first saw the brush, I was like WHAT?!?! It was so huge! Really hard to use. How to reach those hard-to-reach areas? It claimed that its patented double-sided brush with its high volume of supple bristles ensures even coverage on the lashes. Really skeptical about it. Anyway, I just used it, indeed! Very hard to use, too big for me. However, I have no problem using it anymore. Just need some practices and you’ll get the hang of it.

First, use the flat side to apply the mascara on the lashes, then use the the brush side to get the mascara properly coated on the lashes.

Left: Two coats.

Right: One coat.

Does it volume up? Frankly, they’re all clumped up. From afar it does look like you finally have lashes but close-up, the effect wasn’t very pleasant.

To solve that problem, I decided to clean my previous mascara brush and used it to better separate the lashes to make them more natural looking. It works! The brush I used was my old Maybelline Unstoppable Curly Extension Mascara brush.

Girls, before you throw away your mascara, keep the brushes, they are very useful as different brushes will give your lashes different effect even if you are using just one type of mascara. By far, Maybelline Unstoppable Curly Extension Mascara brush is the one I love most.

This photo was taken by just using my phone. As you can see from the quality of the photo, such quality yet you can see that my lashes are obvious. I had three coats of the mascara and I combed them with Maybelline Unstoppable Curly Extension Mascara brush. Not bad at all!

I’m getting to like this mascara. The brush isn’t a problem to me anymore, I’m used to it and have better control of it already.

The best thing about Bourjois Volume Clubbing Waterproof Mascara is that it’s smudge proof! Waterproof! It stood up to its claim! I was rather worry about smudging, some more it’s black in colour, I normally don’t buy black mascara because I tend to get them smudged, so usually I will go for brown but there’s no brown for this, again… I just gambled it away. Lucky me, took the right move to buy it.

It is very easy to remove too with just normal makeup remover.

All in all, Bourjois Volume Clubbing Waterproof is not a bad mascara, just the brush is a bit of a let down and it didn’t curl or extend the lashes much, it didn’t claim to do so anyway. All you need to do is get used to it. I would buy it again for sure just because of its smudge and waterproof ability.

These photos were all taken with my phone. Suddenly I have very defined eyes *lol* The wonder of eye makeup. I’ll share with you the new eyeshadow palette I’m using in this photo some other day. It was rather surprisingly good too else you won’t see such effect for my eyes 😉
