Bourjois Volume Clubbing Waterproof Mascara

Posted on October 23, 2013October 24, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Bourjois Volume Clubbing Waterproof Mascara

I had bought a new mascara few months back from UK. Didn’t do any research on what to buy, just simply decided on it on the spot. So, I ended up with Bourjois Volume Clubbing Waterproof Mascara (£7.99).

I was attracted to its waterproof claim some more with its claim saying that it’s tested at foam parties! I just gambled on and bought it.

When I first saw the brush, I was like WHAT?!?! It was so huge! Really hard to use. How to reach those hard-to-reach areas? It claimed that its patented double-sided brush with its high volume of supple bristles ensures even coverage on the lashes. Really skeptical about it. Anyway, I just used it, indeed! Very hard to use, too big for me. However, I have no problem using it anymore. Just need some practices and you’ll get the hang of it.

First, use the flat side to apply the mascara on the lashes, then use the the brush side to get the mascara properly coated on the lashes.

Left: Two coats.

Right: One coat.

Does it volume up? Frankly, they’re all clumped up. From afar it does look like you finally have lashes but close-up, the effect wasn’t very pleasant.

To solve that problem, I decided to clean my previous mascara brush and used it to better separate the lashes to make them more natural looking. It works! The brush I used was my old Maybelline Unstoppable Curly Extension Mascara brush.

Girls, before you throw away your mascara, keep the brushes, they are very useful as different brushes will give your lashes different effect even if you are using just one type of mascara. By far, Maybelline Unstoppable Curly Extension Mascara brush is the one I love most.

This photo was taken by just using my phone. As you can see from the quality of the photo, such quality yet you can see that my lashes are obvious. I had three coats of the mascara and I combed them with Maybelline Unstoppable Curly Extension Mascara brush. Not bad at all!

I’m getting to like this mascara. The brush isn’t a problem to me anymore, I’m used to it and have better control of it already.

The best thing about Bourjois Volume Clubbing Waterproof Mascara is that it’s smudge proof! Waterproof! It stood up to its claim! I was rather worry about smudging, some more it’s black in colour, I normally don’t buy black mascara because I tend to get them smudged, so usually I will go for brown but there’s no brown for this, again… I just gambled it away. Lucky me, took the right move to buy it.

It is very easy to remove too with just normal makeup remover.

All in all, Bourjois Volume Clubbing Waterproof is not a bad mascara, just the brush is a bit of a let down and it didn’t curl or extend the lashes much, it didn’t claim to do so anyway. All you need to do is get used to it. I would buy it again for sure just because of its smudge and waterproof ability.

These photos were all taken with my phone. Suddenly I have very defined eyes *lol* The wonder of eye makeup. I’ll share with you the new eyeshadow palette I’m using in this photo some other day. It was rather surprisingly good too else you won’t see such effect for my eyes 😉

Why do you want to dig that far?
