Orientation Week SP2

Posted on February 27, 2012February 28, 2012 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Orientation Week SP2

Was busy last week with Orientation Week for study period 2.

Did not take any photo of myself in the bright red Business Mate uniform ;p I didn’t bring my camera with me, always forgot about it.

Anyway, we had series of activities going on for the whole week. Daily free lunches too! Nando’s, pizza, rice, fruits, shave ice with various flavoured syrup, and slush. Was also the “tour guide” and as one of the student panels. Even got myself free henna drawing. My first time having it.

It was tiring but was fun and fulfilling. Starting tomorrow, it’s U-week, I’ll be in all 4 campuses, it’s gonna be one hell of busy week!

Fringe 2012 (Part 1)

Posted on February 24, 2012February 24, 2012 By sweet surrender No Comments on Fringe 2012 (Part 1)

Fringe is on! One of the grandest events in Adelaide when almost all the Adelaide comes out to play ;p Some would go away because can’t stand the madness. I’m part of the marketing street team for the newest Fringe venue in 2012, had been helping out a bit.

The uni is going to be a fun place for the coming weeks! People will be everywhere! Theaters, exhibitions, music and non-stop every day starting from 3pm till late! This section of the uni has now turned into a party place! How fun! Those who bought the t-shirt for the pub crawl can enjoy discount on booze at 20 drinking locations around Adelaide. Imagine, going to 20 places in one night in one HUGE group!

Today is the big day! Grand opening of the new student lounge, The Grand Academy of Lagado.

2nd March will be another big day for us! The start of the World Biggest Pub Crawl.

There’s a parade just now. I was supposed to be in it but I had to go to work so didn’t join and miss the grand opening of the Grand Academy of Lagado (former student lounge of UniSA City West Campus). Didn’t bring my camera so I used my phone, couldn’t take any decent photo and there’s too many people, I couldn’t really see the parade ;p

Will be busy with this event until it ends. This might likely to be my first and my last Fringe.

Australia Day 2012 – Part 2

Posted on January 31, 2012January 31, 2012 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Australia Day 2012 – Part 2

Last day of January 2012! Gone is the first month of 2012! WOW! Last week today, I just got back from my Korea trip and it was 2nd day of CNY.

Anyway, back to the topic ;p Took a video during the start, here you go…

I’ll just let the photos do all the talking.

After the ending of the parade, everyone shifted to the Torrens River for the concert.

So many people! I didn’t stay, I just had a stroll there and went back to my apartment. At night, there’s fireworks and it gave me the CNY mood hahaha… It was a long and grand one. At first I heard the fireworks from my apartment and was lazy to go up to the common area to have a look because I thought it won’t be long and it might end when I’m up there but it went on for so long that at the end I went up and caught the last few minutes only, should have gone up earlier.

So many things need to do, still have so many days of my Korea trip to post. Now have to rush two assignments even though due date is 2 weeks away because welcome week and orientation week is coming and I’m going to be involved in many of the activities and will be busy so must get the assignment out of the way.

Hope you guys had enjoyed the first month of 2012 and CNY is going to end soon.

Australia Day 2012 – Part 1

Posted on January 28, 2012January 28, 2012 By sweet surrender No Comments on Australia Day 2012 – Part 1

26th January was Australia Day.

I decided to check out the parade as this is my first time and likely to me last time to see this event.

It’s celebrated annually nationwide.

It’s the national day of Australia.

In Adelaide, there’s parade with many people from different walk of life taking part in it.

I was expecting there’s Malaysian community in the parade but none.

Very colourful costumes.

From the Chinese community.

This sure gave me the feel of Chinese New Year. It was the 4th day of CNY.

More to come…

Happy Chinese New Year 2012!

Posted on January 23, 2012 By sweet surrender No Comments on Happy Chinese New Year 2012!

Gong Xi Fa Cai everyone! I miss the firecrackers, fireworks, food, people and more! This year is special to me. First time not celebrating it in Kuching instead in Seoul for the first 20 minutes of the dragon year, then the next 6 hours+ on the plane, up on sky, above many countries including my home Kuching. After that, in Singapore. Will fly out of Singapore at 11.30pm tonight.

Basically, I spent most of my 1st day of CNY in Singapore, now in my cousin’s house, spend most time sleeping, so tired as I’m not feeling well. Was sleeping almost throughout the flight last night. Gonna meet my friend at 4pm later. There no CNY feel here, Kuching is the best for CNY!

I was lucky to be offerred an earlier flight (4 hours earlier) in Busan, then got on the last flight out to Singapore from Incheon (9 hours earlier). However, no luck with flying out of Singapore early as the earlier flight is overbooked. My flight is also a full flight! ARG! Hate that! I’ve been enjoying the whole row for myself throughout the entire journey trip but not tonight. Suck… Some more I’m sick. Those sitting next to me will be surely afraid of me spreading my germ to them, I sneeze do much ;p

That’s all for now! Have a prosperous year ahead!

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
