It’s that time of the year again… December… The holiday season is here. Lunar New Year is around the corner too! How time flies? So… What should we do this holiday season?

First, let’s do spring cleaning to welcome 2022 and the year of the tiger. While you are busy cleaning the areas of your house, do not forget about the air-conditioning units. This will ensure your air-conditioning units are working as they should and not making you sick from the dirt and grime stuck in the units. Third, the electrical outlets and appliances at home need to be checked, repaired or replaced if needed from all the wear and tear. It seems to be a trend these days to adopt a kitten or two or even more. Cat owners either adopted it from an animal shelter or the street or random one coming into the house or even buying one. No doubt that the kitten is adorable but did you know that you need to bring it to the vet within a couple of weeks or best within 48 hours of adoption?

It is important to bring your kitten to the vet to get full physical examination and arrange vaccination schedule. You certainly do not want yourself or even other pets at home to be infected by any communicable diseases from your newly-adopted kitten too. However, you must understand that your kitten will feel uncomfortable about going to the vet just like how you dislike going to the doctor.

So how to prepare your kitten for its first veterinary clinic visit?

  1. Do schedule your appointment. Best to do it in the morning or when there are less people as you don’t want your kitten to contract any disease from others’ pets. It’s also to ensure that it won’t get overly anxious with many other pets around.
  2. While you are at it, ask the clinic whether there is a need to bring stool sample.
  3. Get ready a cat carrier to secure your kitten when you travel with it to the vet visit.
  4. Get ready any information you have about your cat such as where it’s from, its behavior, its medical history and so on.
  5. Prepare a list of questions you want to ask your vet so that you will not miss any when you are there. The questions can be related to suitable diet; types of vaccinations; spaying and neutering; behavior of your kitten; things you can do to ensure your kitten is happy and healthy; and so many more. Don’t worry about any question being stupid, they are not. Your vet will surely be glad that you ask and will provide you with the best answer.
  6. You might also want to spray your carrier with pheromone that is suitable for cats so that your kitten will feel at ease when it’s inside.

Now that you are at the vet. Your vet will weigh your kitten. Its coat, eyes, ears, lungs, heart, teeth, and gums will be checked. There might be blood test, stool test, and pest test. Vaccination will begin as well.

Before we welcome 2020, how many of you had redeemed your Starbucks planner? I was fortunate enough to get the limited edition of Starbucks Malaysia 2020 Planner, the Siren Edition. I was told that what I’m having is the last one in not just Kuching but Sarawak! WOW! What an honour to have it.

I was thinking of just doing the unboxing of the 2020 planner but decided to do something more… Unbox those from 2015 to 2019 as well. Truth to be told, some of them were not completely unboxed by me, they were still in their original packaging. For this video, I finally unbox them completely hahaha… What a sacrifice for the sake of content ;p

Madrid for My Next Trip?

Well… Since my adventure in Adelaide, South Australia is coming to an end next year, I should plan for my next adventure. United Kingdom is in my plan. Maybe I should also consider Madrid, Spain for my next trip.

Would love to pay a visit to Mercado San Miguel, an indoor market in central Madrid where you can find good food and produce. This is always a place where it is bustling with activities in the evening. It would be a really great experience I’m sure.
