Category: Finding Myself – Adelaide

My journey in discovering myself in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia while fulfilling my dream to study overseas.

Glenelg

Posted on April 10, 2011April 10, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Glenelg

Finally I paid Glenelg a visit.

It was so hot there.

My very first time visiting a foreign beach, minus Sentosa in Singapore ;p

The weather was so nice to go to the beach.

So much different from the beach we have back home. My first time seeing clear blue sea.

Just can’t help it but to post lots of photos to share with you.

Rundle Mall

Posted on April 9, 2011April 7, 2011 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Rundle Mall

Here you go… Rundle Mall photos… Only took these photos after a week later hehehe…

So many shops to shop around, Saw so many boots! GOSH! I’m so tempted to buy a pair but I should not be buying one as I have one in the way. Hopefully my box will arrive soon. Sigh… It’s taking longer than expected πŸ™ I have a lot of stuffs I need in there.

Anyway, most of the stuffs there are pretty expensive for my standard.

Left: The fountain.

Right: Can you spot two huge steel balls on top of each other? Too many people and it’s not easy to get the shoot.

I guess these pigs are the most popular sculpture.

Imagine pigs running free in Rundle Mall eating up rubbish in the bins ;p

That’s Rundle Mall from me to you.

The Botanic Gardens

Posted on April 8, 2011July 28, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on The Botanic Gardens

The next stop was The Botanic Gardens.

Walked there, went in and was greeteed by lush green view. I just walked around and saw many couples dating(and doing some intimate stuffs) and even some drunk people around -.-”

I thought of exploring further but my instinct and common sense told me it’s not wise to do so since I was all alone. In fact, it was a drunkard that gave me a scare. I didn’t know there’s someone there at the hut drinking. I was busy trying to get an angle to camwhore!

I quickly walked back to the entrance. Didn’t dare to go too far away from the entrance.

Just simply took some shoots and got out of there.

The place is huge! There’s quite a number of places to explore but it’s best to go with a group of people or join the free tour offers at 10.30am in the morning(hopefully I got the time correct).

South Australian Museum

Posted on April 7, 2011April 8, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on South Australian Museum

I went to South Australian Museum twice because I didn’t get to finish the whole visit on the 7th day.

So my first stop on the 8th day was here…

In fact I’m quite surprise that photography is allowed in the musuem. WOW! My first time see a “real” elephant. It’s huge! The lion almost gave me a heart attack because the tail actually moved hahaha… I surely wasn’t prepare for this.

Went upstair, more to see… Plants, animal, insects. Haven’t see the real one but get to the the dead ones ;p

Pretty fascinating seeing all these creatures that we usually only see in TV even though they’re all dead.

Even creatures in the river and the sea. The stingray is sure a big one.

This is huge too! Not sure what its called ;p

Of course, there’s also sections dedicated to the aborigines.

So many to see and it’s really educational. I didn’t expect to find museum to be so interesting. There’s also many interactive stations for the visitors to learn more about the exhibits.

Lastly, the pigeons outside the museum hahaha…

Next up will be the Botanic Gardens.

7th Day in Adelaide

Posted on April 6, 2011April 4, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on 7th Day in Adelaide

Nothing to update for the 6th day. I was too busy trying to figure out stuffs in the uni. Finally at least I got something out of it and I have a peace of mind now unlike the past few days, totally lost and clueless with the whole system.

On the 7th day, I could go out to explore again without worrying about the uni stuffs.

Along North Terrace…

National War Memorial, I didn’t know there’s an entrance, I went in to take a cover from the drizzles.

The State Library of South Australia.

Quite like the architecture but at the same time it’s emitting lots of heat from the glass.

SA Museum, will have a post on it. I missed out the Migration Museum, some other day when I’m in the mood to go out again.

The University of Adelaide.

Adelaide Law School which belongs to The University of Adelaide.

This is the City East Campus of UniSA. It’s totally different from campus in City West.

I wanted to go to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens but I kind of lost my way, again I didn’t even bother to look at any map or ask for directions ;p How silly… It was actually just next to the hospital but I didn’t want to walk further up because I’m tired and wanted to take the bus back. Only when I’m on the bus, I realized it’s only few steps away from the bus stop and also the bus stop name is known as Botanic Garden hahaha…

Anyway, that concludes my 7th day in Adelaide.

Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
