Updates on PerySmith 5 in 1 Hand Blender 850W Easy Cooking Series PS850

Posted on August 4, 2022August 25, 2022 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Updates on PerySmith 5 in 1 Hand Blender 850W Easy Cooking Series PS850

I bought PerySmith 5 in 1 Hand Blender 850W Easy Cooking Series PS850 last year during 7/7 Shopee’s campaign. It was quite a good deal back then. Less than RM90. Was very happy with it. I’ve been using it for making cakes, bread, cookies, juice, and even peanut butter. All was well. Here’s the unboxing video that I did last year.

So… Just a few days after the one-year mark, something happened. All at the same time! Seriously?!?! It has two years warranty but only for the motor unit. The accessories or the attachments are not covered under the warranty.

The whisk attachment wasn’t working when I wanted to whisk the eggs. I attach it to the motor unit and it didn’t turn. It had noise but the whisk wasn’t turning. I removed it from the unit and guess what?!? The plastic bit that was supposed to connect to the motor unit that makes the whisk turn fell out. No wonder it’s not turning. The part came off! I only used the whisk one time! That day was supposed to be the second time but it’s broken. Couldn’t be used anymore.

I thought I can use another attachment to whisk the eggs. My gosh! The part that gripped the hooks couldn’t grip the hooks. One side was OK, the other side was useless. I had no choice, I tried my best to whisk the egg by keeping the hook as deep as possible inside the mixing bowl so that it won’t detach while mixing.

When I’m done whisking those eggs, it’s time to remove the hooks. The faulty side just came out on its own. When I removed the OK side, a ring came out along with the hook! Guess what?! The OK side couldn’t grip anymore too! So, the two hooks(mixing and kneading) are now useless as the unit that grips them could no longer grip. I only used these hooks a total of fewer than 12 times in a year.

Go figure… How fast is that? Normal usage, only a few times, and it’s gone. Yes, wear and tear, we can’t avoid it but this is just too fast. It just translates to bad quality. My previous mixer only died after over 20 years of usage! The attachments were still going strong. It was the motor that had burnt out.

So… Three attachments for cake/bread making are gone. To date, the other two attachments (stick blender and chopper) are still OK. However, I’m quite worried about the plastic containers because I don’t think the plastic is of a durable type. In case you drop it by accident, it might break instantly. I’m seeing scratches on them already even though I never wash them with anything rough. Only used two to three times.

I contacted support about the faulty attachments. Unfortunately, as expected, they said it’s considered as wear and tear, it’s not covered under the warranty. The fact that their product failed terribly after such light usage is really unacceptable. They just apologized and gave me a quote to buy the replacement. Well… I tried to emphasize that it is used only a few times but still… Just apology. It’s understandable that they won’t buy it because they didn’t see how you used it and you might lie to them. Whatever… No point in trying to convince them because they never will bother.

Do you think I would buy it? No way! Each attachment costs RM39! I need to buy two of them. That would be RM78. I can buy a basic mixer that will surely last for years at that price. Furthermore, I bought the unit for less than RM90! Even if I got it at a higher price, I won’t get the replacement too because I’m afraid that the same thing will happen and that would be a waste of money. Once bitten, twice shy.

I can only count myself lucky for getting it at such a low price. Otherwise, I would be more disappointed than I am now. I just hope the other two attachments/accessories will last me for a few more years *fingers crossed*. I’m quite worried that it won’t as the build of the attachments is the same as the spoilt ones.

So… If you found this post because you are planning to buy it, I would say that you can buy it at your own risk (click here if you want to buy). Maybe I’m just being the unlucky one to get the batch with bad-quality attachments. *sigh*

What to Get with RM150 on Zalora?

Posted on February 10, 2022July 14, 2022 By sweet surrender No Comments on What to Get with RM150 on Zalora?

Got RM150 voucher from Zalora, did a total purchase of RM149.40. Here’s a very quick ASMR unboxing and try-on. Check it out to see what I got and how the fit is on me.

Here are the details of the outfits I bought:

1. ZALORA WORK Cuffed Puff Sleeve Dress (https://invol.co/cl8ppo2), Size S, RM33.90
Stretchy fabric (95% Polyester, 5% Elastane) but might not be comfortable to wear in hot weather due to the fabric. Wash and wear. I thought it would be too long (based on the model’s height) for me but it’s just above my knee. Body-hugging. The length and fit are just nice for me.

2. ZALORA ACTIVE A-Line Skirt (https://invol.co/cl8pprz), Size S, RM28.80
Slightly loose but it’s not a problem. Thick fabric, not transparent. Easy to wear. Zipper at the back. Quite comfortable to wear. This is my favourite.

3. ZALORA WORK Cap Sleeve Button Down Top (https://invol.co/cl8pq0z), Size L, RM29.90
The colour isn’t as bright as shown on the website. More brownish. It wrinkles after wash but it’s not too obvious due to the prints. Very light and airy.

4. ZALORA WORK V Neck Lace Detail Sleeveless Top (https://invol.co/cl8pq2l), Size S, RM23.90
The wrinkles and folding lines are still there after wash. Ironing will be needed for the first time I guess. The fabric (polyester) is very thin but it won’t show off your underwear because of the colour. On close inspection, it looks and feels cheap. Luckily the lace at the neckline isn’t too bad. The armpit holes are a bit big for me but not much of an issue. The fabric is not stretchable but can slip on easily for me. If I go for XS, I might have a hard time putting it on because there is no zipper or buttons. This is my least favourite.

5. ZALORA WORK Collarless Blouse (https://invol.co/cl8pqks), Size L, RM32.90
The fabric is thin but comfortable enough. It wrinkles after wash. The descriptions stated that it’s polyester but it doesn’t feel like it at all. More like cotton.

The video isn’t nicely edited but hopes the video is helpful 🙂

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2021

Posted on May 14, 2021May 14, 2021 By sweet surrender No Comments on Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2021

Wishing my Muslim friends a safe Syawal this year. It’s was a last-minute decision that our government had to make that there will be no visiting and crossing districts and states to celebrate. What to do? It’s all for our own safety. The hospital beds and ICUs are running out. Sarawak still refuses to follow the MCO order from the federal side. It’s not getting any better here and soon we’ll be seeing resources running low. Had just found out recently that a number of acquaintances are now in the hospital fighting for their lives all because of some decisions that some idiots decided to make and these people are paying for that egoistic decision now. Sigh… Whatever… Say so much also no use. Just hope for the best, stay safe and healthy, everyone.

By the way, since we can’t go visiting, can’t go anywhere, I dug out my baju kurung that I’ve never really worn. So… These photos are exclusively shown here on my social media accounts, you will never see me in such clothes in public. I just cannot wear them out haha…

How I Lost RM500 Lazada Voucher After Getting It

Posted on February 23, 2021February 23, 2021 By sweet surrender No Comments on How I Lost RM500 Lazada Voucher After Getting It

Was so excited to receive the prize of RM500 Lazada Voucher and had planned out how to do a new series for my YouTube channel. It will be a series of unboxing purchase made from Lazada that worth over RM500 inclusive of shipping fee(shipping fee cannot be offset from the voucher). However, plan has now gone down the drain as the sponsor(I do not know who but I am guessing that I know who) had decided that I am not qualified to it as I was joining it with an old post on Instagram in which there were no mention that it is not allowed. If there was a mention, then I would just do a new post and upload the video again that time. The host had declared me the winner last weekend and announced it to the public. Then yesterday, the host was being told by the sponsor that I should not win, it is unfair to other participants(Hmm… I think not many joined, just 2 if I’m not mistaken based on the comment left in the contest post). So my prize was given to the other person and the announcement on Instagram too was changed.

I know the host feels bad about it, I will too as it will not do any good to his/her reputation too, I am sure the host did not want to retract the prize but the sponsor insisted on it. As a KOL or influencer or whatever you called it who is the host, you definitely do not want to piss your sponsor off hence you complied but sad to say what the sponsor did will cause reputation damage to you if it happened to someone isn’t as kind as me. I did not want to argue with the host as I’ve known the host in person for years, instead I shared about such act as being illegal if report is lodge to KPDNHEP so that next time the host can take note in future contest.

Sadly, the sponsor (I assume is a big organization) isn’t doing their part. From what I understand, they did not inform the host of the terms hence the host decided on the winner based on own discretions and then to be informed by the sponsor that I cannot be the winner after result was announced and prize was given. Come on! PR!! This is PR disaster if the person you deal with is someone else. Both the host and sponsor did not communicate on the terms before organizing the contest and the winner has to be penalized for their miscommunication and misorganization. The sponsor calling it unfair for me to win but legally it is no longer about fairness but trust once prize is given. It is BREACH OF TRUST!

Oh well… I know I’m no big time blogger/influencer/KOL or whatever you called it. If I happened to be one, I am sure the sponsor won’t dare to act that way. Too bad, I am not and I am too kind to still talk nicely and share knowledge with the host for future campaign. The summary is in my Instagram and Facebook page which I posted last night. Let it be a lesson to everyone even though the posts are not getting any traction. Don’t care la! I’ve told you my part, it’s for you to judge who is right or wrong. Whatever it is, do not use foul language if you want to comment. Cheers!

Happy Lunar New Year 2021

Posted on February 12, 2021February 9, 2021 By sweet surrender No Comments on Happy Lunar New Year 2021

We’ve gone into 2021, now it’s the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Ox is here now! This year, no open house, everyone just stay put where they are. My sister and brother are not coming back too, they’re stuck overseas. Oh well… What to do? Just stay safe everyone so that we have more years to celebrate.

Can’t see the end of the tunnel yet but hopefully *finger crossed* soon we’ll get better. I would say just stay home this year, don’t go visit those not staying in the same household even though the government allows it with some SOPs in place. Being a smart person, you know you shouldn’t do it even when it’s allowed. We’ve seen cases that stemmed from family events the last few months, are you going to risk it and create a CNY clusters? It’s your choice.

Last but not least, please be responsible in protecting people around you. May the new year brings you great health, wealth, and happiness. Take care!
