ThreeWood Japanese BBQ @ B Greenhouse

Posted on October 5, 2018October 4, 2018 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on ThreeWood Japanese BBQ @ B Greenhouse

ThreeWood Japanese BBQ at B Greenhouse (3A, Persiaran St. Paul, Jalan Green, 93150 Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia) can be a place to consider for seafood bbq with your friends and family. It’s the new addition to the already famous restaurant, B Greenhouse.

How does it feels to enjoy seafood bbq under the night sky of Kuching? Worry about rain? Pray hard that it will not rain hahaha… Don’t worry, if it rains, they will shift the bbq inside. Therefore, you do not have to worry about cancelling your bbq dinner when it rains. Of course, one thing though, I cannot guarantee you’ll not smell of smoke after dinner, it comes as a package for having BBQ (not just here, any BBQ and steamboat place is the same), just a matter how strong it will be ;p Unless the night isn’t too windy, make sure you don’t create too much smoke in the bbq pit, and your neighbour isn’t making much smoke, then it shouldn’t be too bad.*LOL*

Generally, you will get a basket of seafood of your choice and a basket of vegetables for your to bbq. It also comes with garlic fried rice and garden salad. The portion is recommended for 2 pax but if your group consists of average and small eaters, 3 to 4 pax to share the set and order 1 or 2 more rice should be enough to eat. I can tell you, three of us were stuffed to the brim! 4 pax would be just nice.

Lemon is to be added into that small dish of seasonings and also when you bbq the seafood if you like. The lemongrass and garlic oil is for the bbq.

It’s pretty fun to bbq with your loved ones. If you would like to check out the video of my dinner, you can visit my Instragram (@lovebellbelle) for it.

If you are curious of the set, here you go…

Left: Tilapia Fish set = RM78
Right: Saba Fish Set = RM98

Left: Threewood Seafood Set = RM128
All sets come with a basket of vegetables, garden salad, and fried garlic rice for two.
Right: If still not enough, you can always order more from the à la carte menu. By the way, they served no pork.

Last but not least, I would recommend you to call for reservation at +6012-6527447 (ThreeWood Japanese BBQ) or check out their Fb page(@threewoodjapanesebbq).

Food Safari @ Padungan – WAK 2018

Posted on September 29, 2018October 6, 2018 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Food Safari @ Padungan – WAK 2018

Padungan is no stranger to people in Kuching. The famous Great White Cat statue is located in this area.

When I found out that there will be Food Safari going on at this place, I was so excited! Decided to check it out just now. Lo and behold! Surprised! Hahaha… I was a bit disappointed. It’s business as usual… Hmm… Where is Food Safari?!?!

Apparently, it’s a one-month campaign starting from 29 September to 28 October 2018. A campaign for you to try out the food that this old street has to offer. No food fair thingy… Silly me… Sorry to disappoint you hahaha… It’s great for locals and visitors to learn and discover the food and beverage scene in this area.

No food fair but still a good thing, you have one month to discover all the F&B in Padungan and be rewarded for it. If you live or work nearby or you’ve been eating at these places, you are rewarded for it. Still many places I’ve not try yet.

All you need to do is just grab the passport from any participating shop and start your journey to discover what Padungan has to offer. I collected mine from Meritin Hotel since I happened to park my car there. It’s also an excuse to step into the latest 3-star hotel in Kuching. Curious you know… As someone who worked in a hotel before(just two-year stint :P), I’m curious to see how other hotels are doing. Well… Hahaha… I just grab and go, didn’t really do much. Staffs were pretty attentive and friendly though.

Had my chap fun lunch at Country Kitchen and received my first stamp in the passport. Very simple, very easy. Collect at least 20 stamps to redeem some goodies from Meritin Hotel or Batik Boutique Hotel at Padungan. Collect another 20 to redeem again. You can check out Meritin Hotel’s FB(@meritinhotelkuching) page for more details.

There are 60 vendors in Padungan participating in this campaign. I’ve share fun facts of Padungan in my Instagram(@lovebellbelle) and FB page(@lovebellbelle), do check it out.

Till then… Have fun exploring Padungan F&B scene.

Bifesta Cleansing Sheet Brightup

Posted on September 27, 2018September 28, 2018 By sweet surrender No Comments on Bifesta Cleansing Sheet Brightup

I was having a traveling spree the past 4 months. I’m trying to pack as light as I can. I decided to get cleaning sheet for my travel as it is more convenient. There is no need for liquid in bottle and cotton pads to remove makeup or sunscreen on the face. I can easily bring it on the plane and cleanse my face without the need of fiddling with a bottle of liquid while in the seat or toilet on a long haul flight.

I bought Bifesta Cleansing Sheet Brightup(less than RM30 after discount) because the claim that it can cleanse without the need of second cleansing and at the same time can moisturize and brighten the face, all in one with just the cleansing sheet.

This packet consists of 46 sheets. It’s sealed to ensure the sheets are not exposed to pollutant before it’s being used. The sheets are generously soaked in cleansing water. The size is approximately 150mmx200mm and each contains about 5.9ml of cleansing water.

I quite like it because it is very soft, the sheet is wet enough(I’ve tried a well-known brand before, the sheet was so dry and rough), it could remove even the most stubborn mascara easily, and there is no need for hard rubbing. Even though there is no need for double cleansing and oen can go straight to sleep after that, I still do double cleansing if I’m at home or in the hotel and then proceed with my usual skincare routine; or just clean my face with water and apply moisturizer when I’m on the road. I don’t quite like the after-feel on my face, leaving a layer of sticky film. I don’t like the smell when it’s taken out from the packet because it smells like alcohol. I guess it’s because of the lactic acid (dead cell softener) and Bis-glyceryl Ascorbate (Vitamin C) in it.

By the the way, be careful when you are using it to remove your eye makeup, it stingssssss…

I would suggest that you pack it in a zip lock bag when you travel once it’s opened because the liquid can seep through the opening. My makeup bag was wet after I arrived at the destination. Even though quite a lot of liquid seeped out, the content is still very moist. You can imagine how much cleansing water it’s packed in there. I’m still using it till this day, it’s been 4 months! No sign of it drying up.

Will I repurchase? I will likely try the other two types, Moist and Enrich. All the not-so-positive things I’ve mentioned earlier are not really a big deal to me. It works really well and didn’t wreck havoc on my skin.

Congratulations to the winners of my Facebook giveaway. The result can be found in my Facebook page @lovebellbelle

Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum

Posted on September 18, 2018December 12, 2018 By sweet surrender No Comments on Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum

I bought Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum when it was on sale in Hermo. You can also get it in Althea. I decided to buy this after reading it from a friend in Facebook.

I’m using it as my daily serum+moisturizer for both day and night. Even though it is serum, it is rich enough for me. If I apply moisturizer after that, it will be too rich for me and my skin can’t be even absorb the moisturizer. It’s pretty awesome that it comes in 80ml bottle instead of the usual serum size of 50ml or 30ml.

Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum contains organic Jeju green tea and green tea seeds that hydrate your skin from deep within as it is rich in amino acids and minerals. They are using Dual Moisture-Rising Technologyâ„¢ in which fresh green tea can deeply hydrates your skin while green tea seed oil creates a strong moisture barrier to keep your skin moisturized for longer.

It serves me pretty well in the climate of Malaysia. However, you will definitely need to follow with moisturizer in places where the air is dry or you have dry skin.

I do like how it feels on my face, the texture is light, and it smells good. Whether it makes any difference to my face after using it for 9 months, let’s just say it didn’t cause any discomfort to me, not oily, quick absorption, no fuss. The key function of this product is to provide hydration to your skin. If you are expecting anything more than hydration, then this will not be for you unless you are going to follow up with other products that target your other concerns.

A Day in Yorkshire Dales

Posted on September 11, 2018October 3, 2018 By sweet surrender No Comments on A Day in Yorkshire Dales

Some of you might have noticed that I was away for 3 weeks in July. I went to England for a long deserved break. My first time there was during summer 5 years ago. This time, I also went in summer. We went to North Yorkshire. One of the places that you can pay a visit there is the cheese factory.

The Wensleydale Creamery(Gayle Lane, Hawes, Wensleydale, North Yorkshire DL8 3RN) is based at Hawes in Wensleydale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This is the home of the famous Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese and a popular Visitor Centre.

The creamery is a great place for family. You can find a mini museum showcasing old equipments and items used in the olden days of cheesemaking.

You can see people working in the factory making cheese at the cheesemaking gallery. Didn’t take photo of it because no one working on Sunday hahaha!! However, you can find cheese and butter making demonstration just next to the museum. Again… No photos because it’s not allowed.

Cross a small road, you’ll be in another building where you will get to interact with some exhibits and do activities with your children. The viewing gallery is in this building.

Before you end your visit, do drop by the cheese and gift shop. You can try the cheese till your heart’s content lol…

Admission Charges:
Adult £3.95
Child £2.45
Family Ticket (2 adults & 2 children) £9.95

You can check out their website for more details https://www.wensleydale.co.uk/

After visiting the creamery, we went to the town to look for lunch.

We came across Laburnum House Tea Room(The Holme, Hawes, North Yorkshire DL8 3QR) and had our lunch here. It’s a traditional, family run tearoom, serving light lunches, home baked cakes and scones, Yorkshire Afternoon Tea and the Yorkshire Clotted Cream Tea. You can also enjoy a slice of Rich Fruit Cake with Wensleydale Cheese, both made in the village. Aside from having meal here, it is also a bed and breakfast.

Here’s what we ordered…

Jacket potato served with side salad, £5.80 each. We ordered Baked Beans with Cheese(left) and Coronation Chicken & Mango Chutney(right). Potato is very filling, don’t underestimate the portion.

Left: Lasagna, can’t remember the price.
Right: Soup of the day with home baked baguette. If not mistaken, we had broccoli and cabbage soup (£4).

All the food is freshly prepared when you order hence it will take a bit of time at peak hour. Be patient and wait. The food is quite nice and very filling. Can be shared with another person if you’re small or average eater, one jacket potato or lasagna will be able to fill you two up.

After lunch, we just walked around the town enjoying the scenery.

After Yorkshire Dales, we headed to Liverpool. Along the way, we saw this structure, very big and many people stopped to take photos of it. Frankly, I have no idea what it was. In order to write about this structure, I tried my luck with Google. So… It’s after 2 months back from the trip, then I know what is this structure all about. It’s a viaduct!! Anyway, I’ll just copy the details to share with you from yorkshiredales.org.uk:

Ribblehead viaduct is probably the most famous of the many feats of Victorian engineering along the stunning Settle to Carlisle railway line. Its iconic location in the middle of the Three Peaks makes it a popular photo stop. There are a number of laybys, a tea wagon and the popular Station Inn. Of course the easiest way of getting there is on the train as there is a station at Ribblehead itself. On Sundays during the summer there are connecting bus services to and from Ingleton and Hawes and further afield.

The viaduct was built between 1870 and 1874 with up to 1000 navvies working on the construction site. The viaduct is 400m (440 yards) long with 24 arches spanning across Batty Moss. During construction the navvies were housed in camps close to the viaduct – Sebastopol, Belgravia and Batty Wife Hole – some of which had schools, libraries and pubs. It was dangerous work and disease was also a threat. The building of the viaduct was the inspiration behind the recent TV drama Jericho.

Next stop, to Liverpool we go…
