I tried to make kek sarang semut for the second time few months back. Really foolproof. I’m using the same recipe as the previous attempt. One step was wrong but it didn’t affect anything as long that everything is incorporated, it still turned out right. Even better than previous one because I didn’t overfill the tray.

Here’s the ingredients:
CARAMEL (Do this first so that it has time to cool):
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Hot Water
1/3 Cup (about 76gm) Butter

BATTER:
4 Gred B(medium) Eggs
1/2 Cup Condensed Milk
1 Tsp Vanilla Essence
1 Cup Sifted Multi-purpose Flour
2 Tsp Bicarbonate Soda

Saw this simple and easy recipe on YouTube and decided to try it out myself with some tweaks. The original recipe only requires oat and banana. Since I have some desiccated coconut, I decided to add some for the coconuty taste. Do not afraid to experiment with any ingredients you like such as nuts or fruits. Just make sure the batter is wet enough to be shaped without crumbling. Add more banana or add some honey if it’s too dry. Once you are happy with it, just bake it until it dried.

I wanted to make green tea latte lava cake but apparently using pure green tea powder is a no-no which you can see in this video.

However, if you want to do condensed milk lava cake, you can use this recipe minus the green tea powder. As simple as that.

As you know #CucukMyAZ started in Kuching on 7th June 2021 and will be going on until July (if I recall correctly). Mine will be in few days time. Here’s the video that you might want to watch to see what and how it’s done.

This experience was recorded at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (HCO B, blue zone) dated 8/6/2021. The appointment time was 9am, first morning batch. We check-in at 8.30am, number called at 9pm, check-out at 9.30am.

As there might be different team/organization in charge of each hall on each day, the experience might be different depending very much on the crowd situation. However, I believe the steps are similar.

It took 1 hour to complete everything. They even called my parents to confirm their attendance before appointment time. However, if your time assigned is in the morning, they will call you the day before.

There were more people in the morning, slightly longer wait but all in all it took us 1 hour. While in the afternoon, less people, no long waiting time but it was also done in 1 hour because of longer observation time. Since each hall was managed by different team/organisation, they had slight variation of management style but it didn’t affect their professionalism. Good job!

I wanted to film the experience for HCO A too but everything happened too fast that there wasn’t even chance to record properly. The experience was slightly different but in general the process was the same.

By the way, please only go when it’s your appointment time, do not go early to avoid unwanted crowding and issues. If everyone follows the assigned time, there will not be unhappy incidents like what we’ve been hearing. So please… Be responsible to yourself and others.

Few months back, mom harvested yam from the backyard and we cooked some and still had some left. So I decided to make yam balls with it. Here’s the video on how I make it. It’s my first time making it. I used only glutinous rice flour so the texture wasn’t as chewy and it’s more soft like tang yuan. It’s best to use tapioca flour I think as every recipe I found uses tapioca flour.

After making too much of it. I froze them. Since I have some leftover coconut milk and almost-forgotten pandan leaves, I decided to make bubur cha cha with the sweet potato and yam balls. It’s my first time making it too.

Hehehe… Easy right?
