Road Trip to Betong – Part 4

Posted on March 6, 2010March 6, 2010 By sweet surrender No Comments on Road Trip to Betong – Part 4

Continue from yesterday post…

I’ll just let the photos do the talking.

These are random photos that I had taken when we walked around the town.

We found out that there’s no Toto or Magnum there. Only Special Cash Sweep. Interesting eh?

Left: The landmark, it’s rubber tree sculpture.

Right: The coffee shop where we had our lunch, it’s called Popular Food Court.

Ordered kolo mee and kolo beehoon, RM2.50 each. I’m not sure usually the black pudding or blood pudding is included or not.

It just happened that my dad saw it there and asked the cook about it because he had not eat and seen it for decades! Then when we were served, we saw two cubes on each bowl.

This is my first time seeing and eating it. I kept hearing my dad talking about it and how my grandma used to cooked it when he was little. Finally, I got to see and taste it. The taste? Hmm… Nothing much… Tasteless. The texture was pudding like.

After lunch, we sent my bro back to his camp and we made our way down to Kuching after that.

This! The view that I missed during the previous trip when we were on the highest hill because it was raining. Now I got to take photo of it! The view was breathtaking! You’ll get better view especially if you’re driving higher vehicle.

Nice right?

That’s the end of my Betong road trip. My bro will be back next week and that’s also the end of his national service. Don’t think there will be any road trip in near future because it’s really not our cup of tea. That’s all for now.

Road Trip to Betong – Part 3

Posted on March 5, 2010March 5, 2010 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Road Trip to Betong – Part 3

We went to Betong again to send my brother back to his camp on 20th February. As usual we made stops at Serian and Lachau before heading further up.

Before turning into the junction to Betong, we made another stop at this place. I have no idea what place was it but it’s just right before the junction to Sri Aman and Betong.

I noticed this place got a lot of CCTV’s, they were everywhere! Each stalls had at least 2 CCTVs installed. Can you see how many here? Hehehe.. You can’t, the photos are too small ;p Anyway, I’ve never seen so many CCTVs installed in this one tiny place. Let just say there’s at least 20 of them!

After the stop, we headed up, up, up…

Welcome to Betong.

Heading to the bus station. The picture on the right is the bus station of Betong.

Left: Toilet break again! ;p

Right: Some random street of Betong.

That’s all for now. Will continue with the last part tomorrow.

Mandom Cleansing Express Eye Makeup Remover

Posted on March 4, 2010March 10, 2010 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Mandom Cleansing Express Eye Makeup Remover

Another made in Japan product that I bought along with Biore UV Perfect Face Milk. I have no idea why almost all the things that I bought that day were made in Japan.

I had not heard of Mandom Cleansing Express Eye Makeup Remover before this. I was just having too much time and decided to browse around Watsons. I came across a shelf with many products with Japanese words and got curious. Since I have the time, I studied them one by one until I saw this and immediately settled for this.

My eye makeup remover finished long time ago and had been using Loreal De-maq Elixir Concentrate Ultra Make-up Remover for removing all my makeup but got a bit frustrated when removing eye makeup with it especially after having heavy stage or photography makeup. I’ve been trying to get an eye makeup remover but I didn’t know what kind should I buy as I hate eye makeup remover for being oily.

Why I bought it?

It’s below RM25! How affordable! It also stated that it could completely remove water-proof mascara, water based, and with deep sea water. The packing was simple.

Mandom Cleansing Express Eye Makeup Remover wasn’t oily at all! Love it! It also removed my eye makeup effortlessly! Think of fake lashes, eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, make up base, foundation, concealer and more all on the eye area.

I used to dread removing eyeliner and mascara but it’s so easy to remove with this without feeling oily or spend a lot of time. Even the eyeliner in my upper and lower lash line could be removed easily! It didn’t sting my eyes and didn’t blur my vision.

Usually I would spend at least 20 minutes or half hour just to remove all traces of eye makeup especially those special kind of makeup (stage or photo shoot).

This is by far the best eye makeup remover I ever use. Two thumbs up from me.

I’m not sure you can get it at Guardian or not. I bought mine at Watsons, tHe Spring. It’s located at the same row of shelves as Garnier products.

Air Asia, I Very Stupid One OK?!?

Posted on March 3, 2010March 3, 2010 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on Air Asia, I Very Stupid One OK?!?

For so many years of booking flight tickets online at Air Asia website, for the first time I feel very stupid. I don’t know how to use the website! I got stuck when trying to make a reservation.

After I selected everything that was needed to find the available flight, I couldn’t find any button to proceed to the next page! There wasn’t any radio button to select the flight too. I was looking high and low thinking that I might have miss it since they had revamped their site. How am I going to book a flight without the “next” or “continue” button?!?!

I thought maybe it’s because of the traffic in the site now that caused the site couldn’t load properly due to the latest promo but it’s not. How could a simple small button that is so small in file size couldn’t load?

Was wondering and looking high and low for clue but nothing. -.-” Believe it or not, I tried so many times with different browsers and all gave me the same results. I even tried to book again after waiting for few hours.

I gave up searching on my own and asked Allen to see whether his side got such problem or not. At first he couldn’t find the button too but at the end he said he did. It took him quite a while too but not as long as I did *LOL*

Guess what?!?! What a smart user interface!

Last time, there’s radio buttons for you to choose your flight but now… WOW! Very canggih(advance) I tell you! Even me, an IT graduate and someone who spends more than 12 hours on the Internet daily couldn’t figure out how to use the site! Very funny don’t you think so? Maybe it’s just me for being that stupid?

I found out about it when I accidentally move my cursor to the fare column and noticed the change of the cursor. I thought I saw it wrongly so I slowly moved my cursor around again until I saw the change of the cursor, I clicked and VOILA! All the buttons came out! WAH! “Impressive”!

I feel like want to bang my head to wall.

p/s: The flight is not for me, how I wish I have the money and time to fly. Sigh…

I Go to the Gym

Posted on March 2, 2010March 3, 2010 By sweet surrender 5 Comments on I Go to the Gym

I’ve been going to the gym since yesterday evening. Hahaha… Most of my friends will not believe me because going to the gym is never in my list or even cross my mind. I never even step into one until Level Up Fitness opened its door.

I was given with a one month membership to redeem but I didn’t redeem it even until now hehehe… Kenny did ask me few times when am I going to redeem it and I kept telling him I’ll do it after CNY. I didn’t break my promise, I really went to redeem my free membership yesterday, right after Chap Goh Meh *LOL* However, I redeemed the one I got when I joined the body combat session at tHe Spring instead of the one month pass ;p.

Actually thought of redeeming the one month pass but I couldn’t find the letter before I went out of the house, it’s somewhere in my room but I couldn’t locate it that day. I remembered that I had the other pass to redeem so I decided to redeem it instead of the one month pass. Anyway, I found the letter already. Will redeem that soon maybe in April or May. We’ll see.

Now… I’m having jelly legs because of the group classes that I joined. Talking about someone who never exercise for so many years *LOL* So far I had joined body sculpt aerobics, body combat, Taekwondo, and fitball aerobics. The last time I experienced jelly legs was joining dance class.

Body sculpt aerobics and fitball aerobics are really something! I got my jelly legs from these two exercises! I did body combat many times and pilates once but never gave me such problem. I thought body combat is vigorous enough but I was so wrong.

As for Taekwondo, it’s not that tiring except I sucks in my coordination. Learnt some tips on how to do self defence too. I have yellow belt in wushu but it was more than 15 years. Ask me now and I couldn’t remember anything about it except the ma bu and split. I couldn’t split now hehehe…. Ma bu is fine but Taekwondo didn’t use this. However, with my jelly legs I’m having, anything that need me to hold something similar to ma bu position couldn’t be done at all ;p

I didn’t use any of the gym equipment because I’m not interested and I have the bicycle and treadmill at home that I never touch, so…

That’s all about my group classes experience at Level Up. In summary, jumping, kicking, running, punching, stretching are nothing to me but not those exercises that need to incorporate things like dumbbell or gym ball. Don’t have that stamina. Need to build it.

Tomorrow I’ll join Yoga+Pilates and maybe a bit of body combat. Looking forward to the belly dance this Friday.
