Sunday Market

Posted on July 18, 2009July 19, 2009 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Sunday Market

Sunday Market is not stranger many people here and this one place tourists will like to visit as you can see many handicrafts, delicacies, vegetables, fruits, meat, seafood and many more and also all the races in Sarawak doing business side by side harmoniously.

Some of the the traders come all the way down from Lundu, Serian and so on to trade there for the weekend. They will stay overnight at the market by sleeping in their lorry or van or make shift bed at the stall.

This is one place I would recommend you to visit but don’t ask me to bring you there if I happened to be your “tourist guide” *LOL*

I don’t like to go there because I hate crowds and I had some sort of phobia going there due to something that happened to me there few years back. Not only that it’s so damn hard to find parking!

The last time I was there was last year. After so many years of not going there, finally I went with my parents last year after one of my classes because I wasn’t driving and I didn’t want to trouble my dad to send me home and then go to Sunday Market again. So I tagged along and took some photos which I forgot all about it until today.

Then again, I don’t want to go there if possible!

This market starts on every Saturday evening and ends its operation on Sunday noon. My parents go there every Saturday evening to do some marketing but according to them, things at Sunday Market now aren’t as cheap as it used to anymore, there are other places that sell cheaper. Still, they never miss paying the market a visit to buy part of our food supplies for the next 5-6 days which are cheaper, those expensive ones, they would buy it at some other place on Sunday morning such as from Petanak and Stutong Market.

The Sims 3 – The C Family (Pt.2)

Posted on July 17, 2009March 27, 2010 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on The Sims 3 – The C Family (Pt.2)

Hehehe… Back by popular demand ;p I’m making a category specially for it.

Many requested to see the making love aka make baby aka woohoo, all these activities have same animation but only making baby will produce baby(I think… Can anyone confirm it?). Well… Nothing much to see, they did it under the sheet! *LOL*

See! Nothing to see at all! Finally she’s pregnant after 2 tries!

The the baby came. Last time they just had the baby at home with nothing much to see, you would just see the sims having labour pain and not long later a baby will be sleeping soundly on the mother’s arm but now there’s an option to go to the hospital. I selected this option and nothing interesting. You only got to stare at the hospital building until the baby is finally out and go home. *LOL*

Next, I’ll get them to make another child and this time I’ll see how’s the animation for having baby at home wakaka!

I realized that they don’t have a diaper changing furniture unlike the previous one. This time they just change it “in the air”. WOW! Very advance! Hold the baby up and viola! Diaper changed.

One more thing, you cannot plan the maternity clothing, they are preset. You cannot have fancy fancy ones, you can only make choices from what it’s given to you and only one for one function(everyday, athletic, formal, and sleep wear).

Will post again when there’s progress as I’m currently running out of things to blog and also exam coming soon… Time flies…

Hay Pia (Prawn Cake)

Posted on July 16, 2009 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Hay Pia (Prawn Cake)

I’m sure many locals know what this is. In fact, I’m not sure the real name of the dish, we at home usually called it hay pia (in Hokkien), “Hay” means prawn and “Pia” means cake. It’s deep fried flour cake with couple of prawns on it.

However, this whole dish is not only consist of hay pia. There are other things like hot dog, sweet potato, yam, bishop nose, fish plate, fish ball, and many more, all those deep fried food. When we say want to eat hay pia, it won’t be just hay pia but those other stuff that I mentioned will be part of the package.

The popular one was from Rex, we used to buy it from there but now… I don’t know where they move to. We usually buy ours now from Peach Garden Cafe at Pending Height.

I think the tastiness of this dish is the condiment, chili sauce and grounded peanut. These two must be good else it will not taste good as you know those deep fried stuff taste the same everywhere. It’s just a matter of crispy or not.

I won’t say the one at the usual place we buy is good but it is enough to satisfy our craving for it.

White Fantasy Milkshake

Posted on July 15, 2009July 15, 2009 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on White Fantasy Milkshake

This is my second time making milkshake. First time was yearssssssss back… It was mango milkshake. This time I decided to make milkshake again because it kept playing in my mind last night when I hit the bed.

Milkshake is very easy to do, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to do it.

Dad bought a tub of white chocolate flavour ice cream with marshmallow the other day. I was thinking hmm… It might be interesting to have white chocolate milk shake with marshmallows. You see the pink and yellow things in the milkshake? Those are from the ice cream itself.

Very simple to do. The amount of the ingredients are really up to you, so long you have them. You can have equal amount of milk and ice cream or less milk more ice cream or more milk less ice cream. Milk can be any milk from the box or make it from milk powder.

Ingredients:

  • White chocolate flavour ice cream with marshmallow (White Fantasy from King’s)
  • Milk
  • Ice cubes (up to you)

Steps:

  • Pour milk into the shaker.
  • Add in ice cream into the shaker.
  • Add ice cubes into the shaker.
  • Secure the shaker’s lid and start shaking!
  • Done! Serve in cups/glasses.

Do you see that very familiar shaker in the photo? Hehehe… This is something very old, free gift from Nescafe. However, I threw it away after done this milkshake because it’s broken. Actually it had some hairline fractures but I didn’t bother. With shaking I did just now, it finally leak and cannot be used anymore.

If you don’t have a shaker, just get any bottle or container that can stand the shaking of ice cubes with tight lid will do.

The Sims 3 – The C Family (Pt.1)

Posted on July 14, 2009March 27, 2010 By sweet surrender 12 Comments on The Sims 3 – The C Family (Pt.1)

Finally got The Sims 3 last Sunday. Not going to tell you where I got it ;p I have my source. Don’t ask and thank you hahaha…

I’ve been playing The Sims since the very first it was introduced long long time ago, I don’t remember when and how. I think it was my bro who bought the game and that time he was only in primary school. We love to play the game so much not for the character building but to decorate a house! We never progress much in playing the game but kept renovating and redecorating the house only. The characters are secondary.

Sadly, my XPS cannot support the game very much -.-” I don’t have enough RAM, so I had to play it in 800×600 resolution and reduce many graphical properties. In fact playing with such setting is enough to slow my computer a LOT! The game hangs quite a fair bit unless I close all my browsers and MSN. It’s pretty annoying really but what to do… Actually I can still play full screen if I off everything except this game but I still need to do some other things on the computer, there is no way for me to solely play this games without attending to other matters as you know how much time playing such game can consume.

I was amazed by the new functions. You can customize so many types of designs on practically everything, from the colours to the patterns. Cool! The sims are smarter now compare to last time ;p Not only that, the furniture can be placed around with more flexibility too. You can also go shopping, attend classes, gyms, go to beauty salons, dine in a restaurant and more! Unlike last time you have to buy the extension packs.

Anyway, here’s my game screen shoots:

Left: The house, I didn’t build it, lazy, I just placed the furniture in and extended the house a bit. The money? From cheats of course ;p My sims will never need to worry about money therefore to make it an easy game, I’ll just get them to be money oriented in their traits.

Right: My sims, Clair and Craig C. Couldn’t think of any name, simply gave one. They were housemates and my plan was to make them fall in love, get married and have kids *LOL* Just very normal sims hehehe… Nothing interesting. Then I’ll renovate and extend the house when new sims comes.

Developing their love for each other, lots of kissing, flirting, cuddling, making out, and woohoo ;p.

Clair proposed! Hahaha… I wanted Craig to propose but then I couldn’t find the option.

24 hours later, they had a simple wedding ceremony. Hmm… I was hoping that Clair would change into a wedding gown but aiks… No… There wasn’t one. Wonder how to get her to wear one *LOL*

Previously in The Sims 2, when they got married, they will automatically donned wedding attire. For this one, I don’t know how. Still have lots to discover.

Next, will get them to make babies hahaha… Want to see how they make one? ;p

Then after I got bored with this family, I might ditch this family and build another character with different story line maybe… Provided I have lots of time or I’m too bored.

Wonder should I post about the progress and set up a new category just for this game? Hehehe…
