Lyn’s Thandoori Restaurant is one new place in Kuching serving north Indian cuisine. Actually it’s not new, it’s been operation for ages at Rubber Road. They moved. Now it’s located at the row of shops next to MAS Building @ Jalan Song Thian Cheok.


Left: Teh C Peng, this is the wrong order.

Right: Lassi(RM7), you can opt for the one with sugar, also same price. What is lassi? It’s yogurt. I ordered plain one. At first I was wondering what lassi was. If I’m not mistaken it’s yogurt but out of curiosity, I ordered it just to see whether is it really yogurt. It is! ;p I really didn’t know how it should look like and when they sent the Teh C Peng over, I thought, “Oh… Lassi is like that”. Then my bro drank it and said that it’s Teh C Peng! *LOL* They might hear wrongly because of the “si”.


Papadum and acar(not sure what they called ;p). This set is RM4. There were 8 pieces of papadum, quite salty. It’s made with chickpea or lentil flour. The acar was spicy enough but really need to get used to the taste. It’s just like acar that you get during Chinese New Year except different taste.

We didn’t order it, it will be given to you and charged to your bill just like you’re charged with the peanuts served to you in Chinese restaurant.

We only ordered two types of food. Luckily only ordered two, portion was rather big for us.

Beef and mutton Biriyani(RM12.50 for each). The rice used was Basmathi rice.

Beef Biriyani was fine but Mutton Biriyani was a bit of hassle to eat, we were given a knife to cut them up and it’s quite tough, happened to be the part where the tendon located.


These came with the biriyani. The pickle is too sourish for my liking but the curry(I refer this as curry, not sure about what the real thing is called) was not bad.

Personally, I think the prices were a bit steep for some food and drinks. Overall, it was quite OK, the environment wasn’t so bad.

I didn’t know that there’s 10% discount in My Privilege Book! ARG! If not, we would have save 10% from the bill.

Oh… Do you know they have a site for Lyn’s Thandoori Restaurant?

One more thing, this place is halal.

Big Apple Madness!

I found out about this Big Apple Donuts promotion from a forum on Thursday night. Didn’t really bother about it until I saw it in the newspapers on Friday morning. 52% discount!! WAH! Should go get it! Original price is RM27 for a dozen, during the promo, it’s only RM13 for a dozen.

I told my brother and asked him to go with me on Saturday morning. We planned to leave from home at around 9.30am since Big Apple Donuts only opened at 10am. I thought the queue shouldn’t be too long by the time we reach.

Who knows… We reached there at slightly after 10am, we got a shock. The queue almost reached the entrance of Ta Kiong. When we reached we had to queue right in front of the kiosk selling the purifier thing. Luckily went there early but not early enough to get those fancier donuts with fruits on them.


Almost 2 hours wait, it was our turn, almost all the trays were empty. There were only 5 types left and I decided to wait since I want 12 different type of donuts. I paid and waited. They told me it would be quite long to wait but I said it’s all right, I have the time hahaha… I waited for few more minutes and finally one box was filled with a dozen donuts.

Those who were in front of the queue were so lucky! They got so many to choose and got those fancy fancy ones. Should have go there earlier ;p

In fact I had made a list at home earlier on what I wanted but from the list, 12 of them, I only got 3 or 4 of them that I had in the list. The rest were not available because they couldn’t fill up all the trays. Could only choose whatever were there. Oh well… Better than nothing.

Now… I had donuts as my snacks, for breakfast, for desserts, for lunch and dinner since yesterday *LOL* Finally finished it already. No more donuts for me until next promotion(if there is any but not this year… I have enough of donuts for now ;p).

Oh… This is my first time queuing up for food for 2 hours+

I guess I did two craziest things in my life in just one day, yesterday. Both were equally crazy, at least for me.

tHe Spring Ambassador Hunt Audition

*LOL* This is the craziest thing I’m doing this year I think… I went for the audition at tHe Spring just now for the Ambassador Hunt. Didn’t intend to join but ended up joining it. In fact was dragged in to join but no harm, nothing to lose, it’s an experience that you won’t get everyday. Can consider this as my first audition in my whole life.

Actually I was there in the morning to queue up for the Big Apple madness with my bro ;p Queued for 2 hours+ just to get one dozen of 52% discounted donuts. Will blog about this tomorrow.

So… OK… After I got my donuts, I decided to just went over to have a look to see what’s this whole thing was all about but Naomi asked me to join but I was quite reluctant. After much persuasion by several people, I agreed. I went home at about 12pm+. Then, went back to tHe Spring at around 1.30pm. Was so afraid that I couldn’t find any parking palce, phew… There were still some spaces left. If I were to reach there later, I would be really having trouble with finding one.

Waited and waited for it to start and finally it started. I’m the fourth one.

Initial thought was that I need to speak with microphone in my hand and in front of public but that’s not the case. Since it’s very noisy there, we just had to stand close to the judges and talk to them. I don’t remember what were the things I told them already, all I remember was that I made silly blunders ;p Out of sudden I forgot my favourite fashion designer’s name, Elie Saab, and even asked the judges back whether I got the name right. Not only that, I almost bit my own tongue when I talked and jumbled up my words *LOL*.

I wasn’t prepared except went home to change my clothes and intensify my eye makeup. I went. I blah-ed. I left.

Will I be shortlisted or not? I don’t know but I do have problem pronounce the word “shortlisted”. The shortlisted ones will be contacted next week.

Sigh… What is wrong with Streamyx these days? No line for me again! Almost everyday since last weekend! It’s a good thing I have Celcom broadband but it’s not that good to use, either kept disconnected or just too slow or signal isn’t stable.

Anyway, went to tHe Spring for the fashion show few weeks back and while waiting for the next show, I went to Kokoberry to buy a cup of drink, just to try out.

So many types of fanciful drinks reminded me of Red Tea House last time but now no more. Kokoberry is originated from Sibu if I’m not mistaken.

There were so many things on the menu even two prices on the menu and really make me “juling”. One is VIP price, one is normal price. Got membership summore. Interesting.

Since I don’t have the membership thing, don’t even know such thing exist until that time, I paid normal price for my Pearl Milk Tea. I don’t remember the price(can’t see the price from my photos), I think it’s RM2.70.

My comment about this place? Pretty interesting place and it sure appeals to the younger crowds. Price wise, it’s not so bad, you will save a lot with the VIP thing if you like to hang out here.
