Happy Birthday 2011 to Me

Posted on September 4, 2011 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Happy Birthday 2011 to Me

Guess what… Spending my 29th birthday in the uni’s computer pool doing revision. How cool is that? Gonna be very busy this coming week to prepare for exam, might not be updating this blog for quite awhile. It’s a good thing I have uni coursemates here with me here even though they are all busy with their work. I thought I will be alone here. My initial plan was to print voucher for my free birthday lunch from Subway then head home after getting lunch instead I decided to go back to the computer pool to study. Later in the day, surprisingly many uni mates came to complete their assignments and do revision. Even though there’s no celebration, at least they wish me happy birthday. Something different compared to previous year.

Went to the Royal Adelaide Show yesterday and it was great! Bought a CLEO showbag cost AUD18 with the content worth AUD150+. It’s pretty worth it. Will share everything with you when free. Was there for about 10 hours, my feet were so painful, standing and walking most of the time. Did not feel like going home after that, all I wanted was to stay out with friends. I hate to stay home now, I feel very pathetic and lonely so computer pool is my second home now. Spent at least 6 hours here almost everyday.

Today I found out that apparently I am no longer consider a friend to somebody. We’re now more of a stranger or someone that this person will prefer to avoid. It hurts because I’m really sincere to want be a friend to this person even after what had happened a month ago but it’s all just plain bull shit! Not even a birthday wish or even bother to respond to me. Anyway, life still goes on. This person had made me realized how narrow my social circle is and now I become so damn social! Know almost every frequent users of the computer pool. I wasn’t this social even back home. In a way, it’s good because I got to know so many new friends from Russia, China, Taiwan, India, Pakistan, and Malaysia.

Oh well… Time to go back to study again and WTF! Why switch on the aircon! It’s so damn cold today!

Talk to you all later with interesting posts. Cheers!

Culshaw’s Grill

Posted on September 2, 2011September 3, 2011 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Culshaw’s Grill

My very first steak in Adelaide in a hotel! Freaked me out! Luckily there’s discount coupon so we didn’t pay full price.

It’s was a week ago, my friend invited me to join her friends for dinner. We had our dinner at Culshaw’s Grill located in Majestic Roof Garden Hotel.

Left: It’s located just next to the hotel’s lobby.

Right: Steamed Brocolli, Butter, and Almond (AUD7.90). The presentation was quite cute hahah…

Left: Aged Black Angus Rump Steak 400g (AUD35.90) roasted field mushroom and topped with barossa bacon rashers and a rich glaze. The meat was a bit dry and tough. My friend asked for medium but it didn’t feel like medium instead it was medium well done. I like the bacon rashers.

Right: Eye fillet 250g (AUD39.90) on a buttered potato crush, topped with crispy prosciutto and finished with a shiraz glaze.

Left: When I saw kangaroo on the menu, I decided to order without much considerations else I don’t think I will have any other chance to try kangaroo meat. So this is my first kanagoroo meat in Australia. Grilled kangaroo fillet steak (AUD29.90) with a pear & parsnip mash, a mini peppercorn & parmesan damper & a rich red currant glaze. The meat was really lean. There’s no unique taste for the meat though unlike beef or lamb. It tasted neutral to me, I don’t mind to have it again. It was grilled to perfection. The pear & parsnip mash was delicious! The overall dish was good enough for me.

Right: Aged grain fed scotch fillet 300g (AUD35.90) on a butternut and smoky paprika squash with crispy szechuan red onion rings & a rosemary & port glaze. I like the red onion ring.

Overall, the meal was satisfying. The bill came to a total of AUD102+ inclusive of a bottle of lemonade and 2 glasses of wine after discount.

Birds!

Posted on September 1, 2011September 1, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Birds!

Can you spot 2 birds in this photo?

Took it on the way home after UniSA Open Day. I saw a guy busy trying to take pictures of the tree at the church and was wondering what was he trying to take photos of. Then I looked up, WOW! So colourful! There’s more than two of them actually.

Next, it’s a good thing I have a great view from my window. Consider quite good already. I always see many birds out there.

Last Sunday, when I was busy doing my assignment, I took a short break looking out of the window and saw many birds flying. They kept circling and circling. It actually lasted for more than 15 minutes! I quickly took the photos as usually I missed them flying. Who knows… It was still going on, so I took some videos. Will post the videos when free 😉

Spring is here but it’s still quite cold at night. Even day time, the wind is cold even though the sun is quite bright.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2011

Posted on August 30, 2011August 31, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2011

My first Raya in Adelaide! As if I do celebrate it hehehe… Well… At least if back home, I’ll be going visiting with my parents and friends for the yummy food!

Here… It’s just another day but I notice my Muslims classmates and most people in uni are nowhere to be seen ;p I guess they are having their self-proclaimed holiday. One-week holiday for Malaysia starts this week. So nice… With the national day coming tomorrow some more.

I’m here struggling to get my assignment finalized, preparing my presentation for next week, start compiling my revision notes and start memorising 360 points in less than 2 weeks! Luckily, the other one is open book test. Some more must get them done this week because I’m going to enjoy my weekend going to the Adelaide Royal Show and also my own break on Sunday coz it’s my birthday! *AHEM*

Not sure how will my birthday be like this year. As if I have a full blast of celebration every year… None! It’s just usually another day, going for simple eat-out dinner with my family. Don’t think anyone here knows or know my birthday is this coming Sunday ;p Not gonna tell them too. It was supposed to be celebrating with someone but oh well… Things don’t go as planned and don’t think that person will even remember or even have the time to simply give me a birthday wish. I know where I stand (from the top position fall to the rock bottom) so it really doesn’t matter for that person and I had expected it, so no disappointment at all.

Anyway, must get started with my notes for class later.

Selamat Har Raya Aidifitri to all my Muslim readers and friends. Have fun and play safe!
