First Time Clubbing in Adelaide

Posted on October 6, 2011October 5, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on First Time Clubbing in Adelaide

My very first time clubbing in Adelaide, first time and already hit 3 clubs in one night! ;p It happened after exam. We all completed our exam and decided that we must party to the max after 2 study periods of slaving hahaha…

After dessert, I went to meet my other group of friends around 11pm. They had pre-drinking session, I didn’t drink much, just a few sips of red wine.

We, 4 girls, headed out to Swish at Stamford Hotel near our apartment at 12am+, means it’s already 17/9/2011. It was initially planned to be girls night out but we called up a guy friend of ours to join us last minute. The theme of the night was 90’s, the music didn’t really rock us so we decided to change place.

We headed to Heaven, need to pay cover charge. GAH! AUD15! Not cheap wei! Another guy friend came to join us too. All 6 of us from 3 different countries(Malaysia, Pakistan, and China). Go figure, who is from where ;p

Then, around 3.30am, we headed to another club, Lavish, near our apartment. Luckily this time no cover charge else I’ll be broke! I had spent so much earlier of the night for dinner and then the cover charge of Heaven. Way over my budget. Before going into Lavish, we stopped by McD as some of us need BREAKFAST! 😛 I had a cup of Fruit Fizz.

We headed to our starting point, friend’s apartment, at 5am hahaha… Then they continued to drink again, to finish off the red wine. I only started to drink now ;p drank about half glass only. Didn’t even touch any alcohol during clubbing. Actually I did, just a sip, my friend asked me to try her drink. That’s all I had.

At 5.30am, we called it a night. I didn’t bother to shower, just removed my makeup and went to sleep. Good thing the clubbing scene here doesn’t allow indoor smoking, I didn’t sweat too else I’ll have to shower, wash my hair, dry my hair and so on. By the time I’m done with all those stuff, it’ll be 7am! So I managed to go to bed at almost 6am.

What an experience in Adelaide. That’s not all… More to come, it was a full swing weekend for me. Things started from Friday evening and only ended on Sunday evening.

Steven ter Horst Chocolatier

After dinner at Kopi Tim, we went for dessert at 221D Unley Road, There’s a shop called Steven ter Horst Chocolatier. The place is secluded, quite hard to find if you’re not a local in Adelaide or stay here long enough.

Finally get to go to a little cosy place to hang out. This place specialized in chocolate which claimed to use offer with the highest quality Belgian chocolate.

Left: So many chocolates!
Right: We ordered some tea. You can have single pot for AUD3.50 or double pot aka bigger pot to share for AUD5.50. You can get free refill. We had raspberry tea and also Earl Grey.

Left: Hot chocolate (AUD5.50 – small, AUD6.50 – large)
Right: OMG! Heavenly! The most delicious chocolate dessert I ever had. It’s quite sweet but not the kind of sweetness that can made you felt sick eating too much. Nuts About Chocolate (AUD7.50), there’s roasted almond, hazelbut daquoise, chocolate cremeaux decorated with chocolate chantilly. Just can’t get enough of it!

Lemon Lust (AUD7.70), lemon mousse dome, praline cream, cocoa sponge and toasted almonds. This is nice too. Sweet and sour. I love it also!

GOSH! I wanna have more!! Highly recommended.

Kopi Tim

Posted on October 3, 2011October 3, 2011 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Kopi Tim

16th September 2011, it’s Malaysia Day. My two friends were very patriotic ;p they took a day off and went for lunch at a Malaysian restaurant in Rundle Mall.

Then at night, I joined them and they went to another Malaysian restaurant, Kopi Tim, located at 168 Gouger Street. *LOL* The food here isn’t very cheap -.-” chicken rice costs more than AUD10. Of course I won’t go for any food which are available at my workplace, every week see the same food also scare hahaha…

These were what we had:

Left: The interior.
Right: Grass jelly and herbal tea. Forgot the prices. By the way, I heard they don’t serve FOC water like any other places. You must order the bottled water.

Left: Rice.
Right: Salted Fish Bean Sprout (AUD13.90), stir fried bean sprout with salted fish in tasty sauce. GOSH! Can you believe eating such expensive bean sprout dish?!?! Even in Chinatown, I could get a packet for less than AUD1. Taste? Salted fish and bean sprout as it should taste *LOL*

Left: Sambal Okra (AUD13.90), okra in thick chili sauce. I really can’t help it, the most expensive okra/ladyfinger dish I had in my life! ;p The sambal was quite sweet but it was good.
Roght: The famous Kadazan Chicken (AUD16.90) of Kopitim. It’s deep fried chicken marinated with the chef’s special spices. YUM! I love this! Don’t remember how many pieces of chicken there. If I recall correctly, there should be 6 pieces.

Left: Sambal Squid (AUD16.90), the sambal was the same as the okra’s. I like this too even though it’s quite sweet.
Right: Curry Prawn, no idea how much because it’s not in the menu. Not bad too.

I don’t remember the exact total price but each of us paid about AUD18+ for 7 of us.

Overall, I won’t recommend the vegetable dishes because it’s too expensive. Even the À la carte dishes too. Not worth it. The prices here are quite steep and portion wasn’t big. Meat and seafood dish are okay I guess…

I don’t think I’ll come back unless I have too much money to spare.

Rundle Mall Spring/Summer Fashion Parades 2011 (Video 2)

Posted on October 2, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Rundle Mall Spring/Summer Fashion Parades 2011 (Video 2)

Here’s the second part of the fashion show. The male models.

The previous one was only the female models.

On the other notes, it’s almost 7pm and the sun is still shinning strong, love it! However, the wind is a bit too cold, can’t really wear less. Still have to wear like what I’m wearing in the autumn.

Holiday tomorrow and after that time to go back to full study mode. Still have many pending posts hehehe…

Rundle Mall Spring/Summer Fashion Parades 2011 (Video 1)

WOW! This is how I spent my first Saturday of October. Whole day at home watching TV, all together watched 4 movies! Can’t believe it. It’s gonna be a long weekend. At 2/10/2011 2am, daylight saving will start and need to adjust the clock to one hour in advance.

My holiday will officially ends next Tuesday, now in partial holiday mood because only one class started. Exam result is out and I’m extremely disappointed with it because I thought I did really well sigh… But what’s done is done, need to move on to make sure the coming ones will be good ones to maintain my GPA above 6 if possible because now it dropped to 5+.

Spring is here since September but still in transition period because the weather can be pretty crazy. Last week felt like spring and summer at some days, this week it’s winter -.-”

Anyway, this video is Rundle Mall Spring/Summer Fashion Parades 2011 which happened on 23/9/2011! The weather was soooo cold that day with strong wind and rain, pity the models. Took so many photos but will show you the videos first. This is the first one, another one will be uploaded soon.

Time sure flies, now it’s October. Autumn was awesome, winter was miserable, spring? I hope there’ll be something special to make it sweet. *finger cross*
