Wasai Japanese Kitchen

Posted on October 11, 2011October 11, 2011 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Wasai Japanese Kitchen

Had farewell dinner with my one of my colleagues (who is also my coursemate) at Wasai last week. It’s a Japanese restaurant located at 9-15 Field Street, basically at Chinatown.

This is my very first Japanese food in Adelaide. We ordered Momoji(AUD105) to share among 4-5 people. It’s special selections of Wasai’s most popular dishes.

In fact, you can even share with 6 or 7 people if all of you are not very big eater. The most expensive dinner I had, I paid AUD30 for my portion which include 2 bottles of sake(shared among 10 people, if I recalled correctly) which I only drank a small cup. Soooo broke! It’s only beginning of October and AUD30 gone just for one meal… Oh well… It’s the company that counts. The most just have to be very careful in spending this month. What’s more last month overshoot my expenditure limit ;p

Left: The chili powder and soy sauce.
Right: Complimentary edamame was served.

Momoji consisted of…

Left: Deluxe Sushi + Sashimi Boat, goodness! It was so gooooooooooooooood… The shashimi was so fresh! Love it! Haven’t eaten any good Japanese food for so loooooooooooong.
Right: Agedashi Tofu, very soft and tasty. *slurp*

Left: Soba Salad, very nice too. OH! Everything was nice.
Right: Tempura consists of prawns, fish and assorted vegetables. All the ingredients were so fresh.

Left: Teriyaki Chicken. It was cooked to perfection.
Right: Seafood Miso Hotpot, it’s quite salty but it’s quite tasty. By the time this was served, we’re so stuffed already.

Overall, the food was good, at least my AUD30 (just don’t do the conversion ok?!? Hahaha…) for this meal was worth it. Highly recommded. Just too expensive for me… I really miss quality Japanese cuisine. At least this was good enough to fix my crave until don’t-know-when.

So hehehe… Will try to find chance to appear near his workplace or something before it’s too late ;p

Why do you want to dig that far?
