Nail Polish Fun

Posted on May 31, 2013May 31, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Nail Polish Fun

Went on a nail polish spree few months back at Sasa. 3 bottles for RM10.

Step 1: Base colour, I thought it will be rather nude but quite orange and didn’t complement my skin colour.

Step 2: In order to make less it less orangey, I applied this finer glitters nail polish at the tip of my nails.

Left: Step 3: Then topped the alternate fingers with this larger glitters nail polish. Happened that one of the heart glitters came out with the brush, that’s why it was there. Really like it! So princessey.

Right: Using the first bottle of nail polish and Maybelline Forever Strong +Iron & Express Finish to achieve the two-tone design simply using cellophane tape to achieve this effect. After I did it, I realized I had bought a silk blouse with this colour scheme. How matching…

SHORT!

Posted on May 29, 2013May 29, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on SHORT!

Guess what?!?! I’ve been wanting to cut my hair because it’s waist length already and maintenance is getting too much. Actually I don’t really do much maitenance on my hair, just wash and air dry, that’s all ;p Still it’s quite a chore when it gets too long. So I finally went for to get my haircut just now. This is how short it gets! -.-”

I didn’t expect it to be this short even though I was the one who told the hairdresser to cut it this short. With my natural curls, this will mean it will get even shorter after the next hair wash. Oh no… Even more maintenance needed, have to blow dry or straighten with straightening iron to maintain this look else you’ll see… I can’t imagine. Haven’t gone this short for ages!

Big Wang BBQ

Posted on May 28, 2013May 29, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Big Wang BBQ

If not mistaken, this is my final Adelaide food post. After this post, there won’t be anything about Adelaide anymore. That’s the end of my almost 2 years adventure. Maybe, this also means I should let go of all the past, live in the present and starting to plot my future seriously after almost 3 months coming back. I’m still quite blur and wondering on where to go next. Anyway, let’s talk about the food.

Big Wang BBQ (305 Morphett St, Adelaide, SA 5000) was quite new when I went there with my Chinese friends for my farewell dinner. It’s so seclude and not obvious at all.

Left: The interior is very simple, not much of decorations. However, please be prepared to smell like BBQ infused with cumin spice after dining here.
Right: Beansprout (AUD5.80), it tasted as it should. Nothing to rave about it. Portion wise was average.

These are just part of what we ordered, chicken, lamb, mushroom, and some internal organs of chicken and pig, and so on. All tasted the same as it’s using the same spice. My friends were very happy with it. It wasn’t bad. We’re stuffed to the brim as we ordered too much for only 5 of us. As for the price, it’s reasonable. All in all I think we spent almost AUD100 for this meal includive of drinks. You need to drink plenty of water eating this.

It was okay for our experience. Will go back if there’s chance but it seemed like there’s many negative feedbacks on it these days. Hmm…

La Bonne Table

Posted on May 24, 2013May 25, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on La Bonne Table

Almost, almost… One more post to go for my Adelaide’s food post.

Another farewell dinner, this was for me and the another friend, we had it at La Bonne Table (128 Wakefield St, Adelaide, SA 5000).

Left: Extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip with the bread.
Right: Oyster Plate, Natural (a dozen – AUD19). My first time had fresh oyster in Adelaide was last year in September, this was my second time. *SLURP*

Left: L.B.T crispy skin chicken in sweet soy glaze (AUD6), it’s nice but a bit too salty for me, still it’s not bad, heard that it’s a must-have when you’re there.

Right: Don’t remember what’s this, a type of pasta dish. According to my friend, it’s rather loaded in expensive ingredients, can be a bit too much of good thing in a plate.

Left: 250gm MSA sir-loin, saute potato, Roquefort butter (AUD27).

Right: I ordered Grilled Salmon, saffron and crab risotto (AUD26), this is nice, just a little bit too much of saffron and the salmon is a bit too small, we’re a bit shocked with the size actually hahaha…

Left: Crumbled pork rib eye, calvados glazed apple, roasted new potato (AUD26).

Right: The menu. I found the menu a bit confusing, need to take time to really look at it carefully to understand the categorization on which is what.

Overall, the food was good loaded with a tad too much of expensive ingredients, price was average for place like this. Environment was great too. It can be rather stuffy because of the high ceiling on a hot summer night.
