Missha All-around Safe Block Waterproof Sun SPF 50 PA++

Posted on June 9, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Missha All-around Safe Block Waterproof Sun SPF 50 PA++

So many Korean brands have landed itself in Malaysia and even Kuching but not Missha. I bought this in Korea.

Currently using it but don’t really fancy it. It’s waterproof as claimed but it does not absorb much instead leaving my skin with a sticky layer. It’s also gave me pale complexion after applying it, not transparent at all, making me look rather pale and shiny. The only way to solve this problem is to apply face powder or foundation if I need to go out else I’ll just let it be if I’m staying home, no one will see anyway! HAHAH! It also acts as my makeup base.

Despite that, I’m still using it daily after my moisturizer as this is the only sunblock I have for the moment. I must finish it before investing in another brand. Not going back to it.

Gold Fever with Kate

Posted on June 8, 2013 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Gold Fever with Kate

Was lucky to be invited to join the Kate Gold Party Experience at Magenta Restaurant last night.

Golden fever!

Kate Makeup Demo was done by Kate International Makeup artist, Mr. Mikiya Hirai. He used the stunning “Goldosh Eyes” on the model’s eyes. The gold theme was deliberate and meaningful as Kate’s distinctive persona is one of fun, party, sophistication and a touch of enigma. Sorry for the ugly photo, it’s too dark for me to take a decent photo with my camera without using flash, it was such harsh flash.

We had fun last night and I won myself a box of Kate’s products in the Q&A session. Also had a chance to take photos with Mr. Hirai.

The food we had last night. There’s appetiser and main course. No dessert though. The food was great but the beef (top right) wasn’t up to my expectation hehehe… Because I was expecting steak ;p

Aside from the food, demo, and game. There was also “Show Your Kate Style” contest by Everrise/Kate Valuable Customers who was selected from the lucky draw campaign/ The ladies were styled to present themselves in Kate style. These were the contestants and three was selected as the winner based on their performance on stage. Didn’t get to take any good photos of the winners because of the location where I was seated.

Left: The goodies I got after attending the event. WOW! HAPPY! Got the Goldish Eyes eyeshodow(RM59) and Slim Gel Pencil(RM44). You can actually find real 24k gold in the eyeshadow! There’s two sample sized products too namely Concealing Cover Powder Foundation(RM74) and Powderless Liquid(RM74). Gonna review it when I’m in the mood ;p

Right: Aother product was one of the FRESHEL multifunctional skincare range by Kanebo. Will review it when I got the chance to use it. I need to finish off whatever I’m using now to open a new product. It’s amzing with 5-in-1 functions, gonna save so much time!

Thanks Kate and Everrise for the golden experience.

Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud Face Pack with Manuka Honey

Posted on June 6, 2013June 6, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud Face Pack with Manuka Honey

Boo! Did you get a shock? HAHAHA!

Now, let’s blog a little bit about skincare. Haven’t do this for a long long time. I bought Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud Face Pack with Manuka Honey when I was in New Zealand. I bought this at the airport. New Zeealand is famous not only for its beautiful sceneries but also its skincare product made from honey and also geothermal mud.

The ultimate treatment for your skin. These face packs contain the absolute maximum content of Rotorua’s geothermal mud in its purest form and are enhanced with Active AAH650+ Manuka honey. The mud is creamy and velvety smooth and full of highly concentrated natural minerals to make it extremely therapeutic as well as detoxifying, purifying, healing and also remineralising. When combined with the powerful antibacterial and antioxidant properties of Manuka honey, it works to deeply cleanse the skin and restore tone and vitality so that your complexion is noticeably refreshed and revived.

I spent NZD19.95 for this. All together I bought 3 skincare products there. Will review the other two when I started using them which might be awhile ;p

It’s not that easy to use, it dries out really fast when the instructions stated that one should not let it dry before washing it off. So it practically means it has to be washed off immediately after application as you can see from the photo. I guess it’s because of the climate in Malaysia. Maybe I should apply more, a thick layer I guess.

Directions: Must be used on a clean skin. Apply evenly to the face avoiding the eye area and keeping clear of the hair line and mouth. Sit and relax for approximately 10 – 15 minutes while the face pack dries and draws out the impurities. It will start to feel tight and will gradually lighten in colour as it dries. When it is a mottled light and dark grey it is ready to remove. Do NOT allow it to dry to a complete light grey/white colour.

After using it, my face felt refreshed. Don’t forget to follow up with moisturiser.

Western Gallery

Posted on June 4, 2013June 4, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Western Gallery

Western Gallery is located at Pending, not far from Laven Bridal Gallery and Hong Leong Bank. It started business some time last year. They serve western food.

Went there for lunch with my parents last month.

Left: The interior is very simple. The kitchen is open concept located in front of the shop.
Right: Jasmine green tea if not mistaken.

It’s been quite awhile and I forgot to take note of the actual name and price of the food.

Left: Garlic butter fish fillet.
Right: Mixed grill, we had lamb, chicken, and pork. Better to share this with another 1 or 2 person if you’re a medium or small eater.

Overall, the meat was cooked to perfection but the marinate was a bit overwhelming for me. Too salty and with very strong spice. The prices were reasonable. I might go back to try other dishes even though the food was not up to my expectations as I forgot this is Kuching, most western cuisine here are customized to fit local taste.

Tutti Frutti

Posted on June 2, 2013June 3, 2013 By sweet surrender No Comments on Tutti Frutti

June! Second day of June, we’re in the middle of 2013 now! Very scary… Anyway, no more Adelaide’s post starting from now.

Happened to be at City One, one of the latest shopping malls in Kuching, when Tutti Frutti was having it’s grand opening and had an offer of 20% off (if not mistaken, there’s discount for sure just don’t remember how much)

My parents and I decided to try it out because of the discount, 10gm for RM0.56, else we won’t bother. Due to the discount, there’s so many people lining up.

We had three flavours, mango, strawberry, and vanilla. This small tub cost us almost RM20! If there’s no discount, it would cost even more! Very pricey. It’s pretty heavy. You get to pump your own frozen yogurt and add your own toppings, then they will weigh and you pay. It’s not a cheap thing to indulge in.

I first came across this sort of concept in Adelaide, the price turned me off from trying it out. There’s many frozen yogurt establishments now in Kuching and I think this is the only one letting you pump your own.

Will I have it again? If I’m not the one paying. I really can’t get myself to spend almost RM20 or more on something like this -.-” With this money, I can have a number of proper meals.
