Langkawi (11 – 14 May 2014) – Part 4

Posted on August 8, 2014August 8, 2014 By sweet surrender 7 Comments on Langkawi (11 – 14 May 2014) – Part 4

A quick one here… We went to Langkawi Underwater World (Pantai Cenang, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah) after lunch. Entrance fee was RM30, only for those with MyKad else it’s going to be RM40.

It’s not bright in there, flash photography is not allowed and animal moves! Hence, I failed to take any decent photos. I decided to use video instead.

Here you go… Enjoy!

Langkawi (11 – 14 May 2014) – Part 3

Posted on July 29, 2014July 30, 2014 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Langkawi (11 – 14 May 2014) – Part 3

After a long wait, part 3 is finally here, our second day in Langkawi. We started our day early.

First, we hunted for breakfast. We came across Restoran Haji Ali (Lot 98, Pusat Perniagaan Kelana Mas, Kedah, 07000 Kuah, Pulau Langkawi) and decided to just settled our breakfast here. Since there were 3 Muslims in our group, so we had to go to halal places for meals throughout the whole trip.

Left: Fried Maggie Mee, no idea how much. Didn’t bother to check it out too hahaha…

Right: Roti Canai Kosong(RM0.90). First time I’m being served with cut up roti canai *LOL*

I don’t remember how much our breakfast was but we only ended up paying few Ringgit per person inclusive of drinks. So cheap!

After breakfast, we headed to Oriental Village (Telaga Harbour Park, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah) for the cable car ride. Too bad the skybridge was closed.

The views along the way…

We’re here!

We headed straight to the cable car ticketing counter. The ticket is cheaper if you’re Malaysian. I don’t remember how much though. Normal price is RM35 for return ticket.

Up up we go… This is my third cable car ride. First was years back in Genting, second was in New Zealand, third in Langkawi.

Left: So many people up there trying to take photos of the view and lots of selfie sticks too!

Right: Too bad the Skybridge is closed for maintenance.

We were lucky to go up earlier because it rained right after we’re done with our photo taking!

Since it rained, we left the place after doing a bit of souvenirs shopping. We headed to Cenang to find food.

We just simply find a place for lunch, ended up at D’Khas Cafe. You’ll be surprised with what we ordered ;p mostly fried rice!

Left: Pad Thai.

Right: Seafood Fried Rice (RM10).

Left: Pattaya Fried Rice (RM8).

Right: Prawn Fried Rice (RM10).

Left: Padprik beef with white rice (RM10 but not sure the rice was included or charged separately).

Right: Salted Fish Fried rice (RM6.50), I ordered this, the cheapest of all the dishes we had ordered. Taste? It tasted as it should.

The food is just normal, nothing to rave about. Just good enough to fill our empty stomachs.

Next up will be the Underwater World.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2014

Posted on July 28, 2014July 29, 2014 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2014

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri!

It’s a long weekend, a good break for most people. However, time sure flies, the holiday is almost over, aiksss… I haven’t really enjoy it yet.

Finally went for the long awaited massage on Saturday and karaoke on Sunday. Today, gonna do hair treatment. At least I have things planned out for the 3 days. Tuesday would be the time to pack up the holiday mood because work start again on Wednesday. Time to get busy again!

Anyway, it’s not always you see me wear something like this. Had to come up with something last minute for a function. Lucky to have French Connection silk blouse and the sarung from the kebaya I bought in Melaka. Since the blouse is too black, I add on with a necklace to spice up the outfit.

Normally I will wear heels but because that time I hurt my toe, I couldn’t wear anything except slippers or flip flops. The flip flops I was wearing is iPANEMA Gisele Bundchen Admiral Gold Ladies Flip Flops JS which I bought back in Australia almost 2 years back.

Will come out with my Langkawi trip post again soon. Goodness! It’s almost August and I’m still not halfway through the travel post for May.

Last but not least, enjoy the holiday while you can. Have fun!

Jewellery For Your Outfit

Posted on July 22, 2014 By sweet surrender No Comments on Jewellery For Your Outfit

It’s been a long long time not writing something educational hahaha… Just having this mood of sharing some fashion tips and you will know why I’m sharing this at the end of the post ;p. Those who know me know that I don’t wear jewellery except necklace. This, also once in a blue moon just to spice up the outfit I’m wearing.

First and foremost, evaluate the jewelleries value whether it is appropriate to be worn to that occasion. For example, are you attending a fancy dinner event or a pool party with your friends? Bold colourful jewelleries are most suitable to be worn to a casual event where flashy bright colours will reveal a more fun side of you. For a formal occasion, opt for classic jewelleries such as a gold or silver necklace or earrings to fit your fabulous outfit.

The next tip to keep in mind is to make sure that the jewellery matches with the colour of your outfit. Colour mismatching not only does it look completely out of place but also makes you appear less fashionable. You should always be aware to have jewelleries which is easy to pair with and complement the outfits you have in your closet. This is because not all types of colours are suitable to be matched with other colours. You can select jewelleries which are black, brown, silver and gold as it is more flexible to be worn with any colour.

I’m sure most of you heard of Zalora. I’ve been stalking the site for quite awhile as it offers many new pieces of jewelleries with affordable price. Free shipping some more! Why not? I love free shipping!

Minoru Japanese Restaurant

Posted on July 15, 2014July 16, 2014 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Minoru Japanese Restaurant

This is one busy week, gonna work 7 days this week! Hopefully I’ll be better this weekend as I’ve been having cough since last week -.-” I seriously need my voice back for this weekend.

Anyway, here’s a food post from me. It’s been awhile. I seldom blog about food now because I seldom eat out and also I don’t bother giving those eateries that are not worth it a mention here. No more free publicity anymore hahaha…

Was lucky to be able to dine at Minoru Japanese Restaurant (Lot 493 Seksyen 10, Rubber Road, 93400 Kuching) last month. I’ve been hearing a lot of it since years back but had never been there because my dining companions never had intention to go there. So I don’t remember this place anymore until last month.

Too bad I didn’t have my camera with me, hence my phone was the only camera I have to document the food here.

Left: We’re craving for sashimi, so we had salmon (RM25). Goodness! Heavenly! It just melted in the mouth! Haven’t eat something like this for ages! Two thumbs up!

Right: Yaki Udon (RM18), fried udon with seafood. A bit too salty for me. Oh by the way, the photo you see here is not the actual portion, I forgot to take photo of the actual portion, this is what’s on my plate as we were sharing.

Left: Gyoza, don’t remember how much. It wasn’t bad. Also, one piece missing as my dining companion ate one before I took the photo hehehe…

Right: Smooth and silky chawanmushi, no idea of the price too. Slurp! I like!

In fact we ordered unagi sushi to end the meal but I realized I forgot to take the photo hahaha… It was really yummy too. Not your usual cold unagi sushi, it was warm.

Overall, the bill came up to a total of RM100+ for two persons ;p Very expensive… Great place for good Japanese food but cannot go there always. Sure will burn big hole in the pocket. One more thing, the toilet is extremely clean!
