Padungan Chinese New Year Bazaar

Posted on February 10, 2007August 26, 2010 By sweet surrender 12 Comments on Padungan Chinese New Year Bazaar

Lately I’m busy. Busy with THIS! YES! THIS! Hahahaha…

The views of the bazaar.

Nien and Wei decided to set up stalls at Padungan CNY Bazaar to sell cookies. Since they only sell cookies, Jimmy has this idea of selling more stuff. After our discussion, we decided to do seaweed twist for sale! So… I’ve been busy 3 days a week to get our seaweed twist ready.

Do come to visit our stalls. It’s situated near the police station πŸ˜› heheheh… Stall number is 42A. I’m not there every night however I’ll be helping out on 13th(maybe), 14th(definitely) and the last day 16th(maybe). Not only we did the seaweed twist ourselves, the cookies we’re selling also done by us πŸ™‚ To be exact, not me hehehe… It’s Wei and Nien. They had been slaving away for the passed weeks to get the cookies ready and Jimmy helped them occassionally. Come and show your support if you want. We also help our friends selling some CNY decorations there. By the way, this event started on 8th February till 16th February nightly.

Left: More view…
Right: The stuffs that we’re selling.

The entrance and the exit to our very own China Town. I had forgotten to take pictures of the famous cat statue that just situated outside the entrance.

One more thing, we’ll be selling Valentine’s stuffs such as flowers(14th), cuddly toys(13th, 14th) there too. The price range from RM15-RM200, from 1 stalk of rose to a dozen. They are all nicely wrapped. You can order in advance and we can deliver them within Kuching to your darling with a service charge of RM5. If you would like to order, leave me a message and I’ll contact you for confirmation and details. During the day time, the cosplayers will be selling at Waterfront. Just look for teenagers that wear costumes or cosplayers.

That’s all. Hope you enjoy your Valentine’s and CNY preparations.

Kuching Bloggers’ Meet 2007

Posted on February 9, 2007November 23, 2008 By sweet surrender 16 Comments on Kuching Bloggers’ Meet 2007

This is an open event. All Kuching’s bloggers are invited! It’s not a private meet! As long that you have a blog and you are in Kuching during the said date, do come to join us. πŸ™‚

I’m not sure I’ll be going or not. Usually I don’t join bloggers’ meet at night because it’s not that convenient for me to go out at night unless someone is willing to pick me up and can send me home by 10pm.

Important note to note is: “PAY FOR YOUR OWN FOOD & DRINKS”. I realised that Oregano is not like bing! or tao where you order and pay on the spot. I’m kinda worry that there are some irresponsible people taking advantages of this. Frankie, I think you have to let Oregano know before hand that for this bloggers’ meet, they should take payment once the food and/or drinks are served instead of settling the bill at the end of the meet. Just in case, some might forget to pay and leave, there are many cases like this.

Personally, I prefer private meet than open meet as it’s easier to control and it’s a much better way to know each other. When there are too many people, it’s going to be a bit hard. Anyway, hopefully it goes well. I’ll confirm later as I might have some CNY dinners to attend by then. Most importantly, when I manage to find someone who is willing to pick me up and leave early with me.

Anyone who is interested to join this meet, remember to RSVP Frankie at frankiecy [at] yahoo [dot] com

Kuching International Airport

Posted on September 15, 2006 By sweet surrender No Comments on Kuching International Airport

BANDWIDTH SUCKER IS COMING!!!! MAKE WAY!! MAKE WAY!! πŸ˜›

We are going to Kuching International Airport today!!

Sent my sister off to UK this afternoon(I’m going to UK for holiday next year!!! πŸ˜› Just a plan, don’t know got enough money or not hahaha…) and took the opportunity to tour the airport and took some pictures of the newly renovated airport.

Top and bottom left: The departure hall entrance.
Bottom right: You can buy some stuff here. Chocolates, perfumes, clothings etc.

This is where you check in your luggage. MAS check-in counters.

The whole picture of the departure hall. The chairs provided weren’t enough. We had to stand most of the time. Some had to sit here(right picture). What kind of impression given to people? They should have more seats!

Left: Air Aisa check-in counters.
Right: Escalators and staircase that connecting the departure and arrival halls. Departure is upstair and arrival downstair.

We look for the viewing gallery hoping that we can see the the runways and aeroplanes and the view of people waiting to board the planes. We walked towards the end and it was disappointing enough!!! You call this international airport?!?!!? It’s so small, the viewing gallery is so SMALL!!! It’s almost the same width as my bedroom!! *faint* You can only see Terminal 1-4 and can only see one plane right in front of you! AMAZING!! Don’t you think? *shake head*

The arrival hall. There’s a convenience store.
Bottom right: The exterior of arrival hall.

Left: Another angle of the arrival hall’s exterior.
Right: Carparks.

Some views from the outside of the airport.

Hmmm… there are still parts of the airport under renovation. It’s not completed yet. Oh… the enquiry counter seemed empty for the 1 and half hour I’m there.

That’s about it. Our international airport with not much international flights coming in and out as they were all axed such as direct flight to Perth and Frankfurt. I’m really not sure to be proud of it or not? Personally I’m pretty disappointed with it. Maybe I had put too much expectations on it.

Again… Welcome to KIA!

The Crocs in Actions! – JongÒ€ℒs Crocodile Farm & Zoo (PART II)

Posted on September 1, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on The Crocs in Actions! – JongÒ€ℒs Crocodile Farm & Zoo (PART II)

Lots of photos… PART II now… the climax is coming…

Left: What is this? Very huge bird. Very colourful head. At first I thought it’s ostrich.
Right: FEEDING TIME!!!

Left: Everyone is waiting for the show to begin!
Right: Hungry crocs. Buckets of fish were poured from the top to feed them.

The climax of the visit!

Goosh… damn big fish.. scary… couldn’t take photos of them. They didn’t come up but submerge in the water all the time. It’s black in colour. Some with florescent red scales too. It’s the same fish that you see in people’s homes or shops aquarium that they sometimes said it could give them luck or some even claimed can see 4D number on its body. You can feed them, there were breads in the baskets.

Left: Ducksss…
Right: Some huts built next to the pond for visitors to rest and enjoy the pondful of waterlilies.

Left: Asean giant softshell turtle, it’s gigantic πŸ˜› people threw coins in there. For what? Well… for luck I guess because turtle or tortoise symbolised longevity. It can be as long as 5 feet and as heavy as 200kg.
Right: Sun bear.

Left: Guinea pig. A visit to this farm and zoo can cause cuteness overdose πŸ˜› Heheheh…
Right: My greatest fear!!! Snakes!!! They have lots of pythons. You must pass by this enclosure to go into the zoo. I was a bit scare that time but it’s in the cage so it’s OK though I got goosepimles everywhere and I wonder my hair stands or not?

So… that’s about my short trip. I recommend you to go there when they are having feeding time, 11am and 3pm. Else… I think RM8 is not worth it. It’s open from 9am-5pm daily.

CROCS ROCKS!! LOL… not really πŸ˜› it rhymes anyway…

The Crocs in Actions! – Jong’s Crocodile Farm & Zoo (PART I)

Posted on September 1, 2006March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender No Comments on The Crocs in Actions! – Jong’s Crocodile Farm & Zoo (PART I)

Quite a boring day yesterday, so went to Jong’s Crocodile Farm & Zoo. I had never been there. This is my first time there. It’s located about 30 kilometerfrom Kuching or fondly known as 17 miles.

Left: The entrance to the farm at the roadside so that people can easily locate it.
Right: The shop where you can buy some crocs’ products and Sarawak souvenirs.

Crocs replicas greet you at the main entrance.

Here, we bought our tickets. Adult is RM8 and child is RM4(below 12).

Left: Iguana, how many can you locate?
Right: The exhibition hall.

Some animals and egg, they are real but it’s already dead.

Bujang Senang! Geee… I wonder why people put money in there? It’s huge and it had eaten human. You can see the photos on the wall on how they took the victim from its stomach after killing it.

These are real but it’s preserved. It shows you the metamorphosis of a saltwater crocodile.

Young crocs.

Left: Tailess crocodiles.
Right: Its colour is different form others. Kinda white.

A collection of crocodiles and the entrance to the zoo(left).

Left: Catfish.
Right: Rabbit.Veli cute… don’t you think so?

Left: The otters. They were so cute. Making some squeky sounds. It sounded pityful. Summore, it’s very friendly too. When you are in front of the cage, it will greet you by running to your direction. It’s SUPER ADORABLE!!! They are very fond of children. When there are children near the cage, they would run to their direction.
Right: This owl is so cool… it has the what-are-you-staring-at look.

Peacocks! Too bad, they didn’t show us their tails.

Part 2 coming soon…

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
