Merry Christmas 2008

Posted on December 25, 2008December 24, 2008 By sweet surrender 13 Comments on Merry Christmas 2008

Here are some photos of Christmas decorations in some places in Kuching.

THe Spring got the best decoration and this year’s giant Christmas tree is also located there.

The Christmas tree of Ten Ichi. Don’t forget to go for the promotion this month.

Tun Jugah doesn’t have much decorations.

Boulevard has a flying Santa Clause.

Crown Square got metal Christmas tree instead of the typical ones.

Not much to say in this post but to wish you a very Merry Christmas! It’s a wet wet Christmas.

Enjoy your holiday!

Minex Jewellery’s ‘Finder’s Keepers’ Christmas Treasure Hunt‏ Finale

Posted on December 24, 2008December 26, 2008 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Minex Jewellery’s ‘Finder’s Keepers’ Christmas Treasure Hunt‏ Finale

Today is Christmas’s eve, it also marks the end of Minex Jewellery’s ‘Finder’s Keepers’ Christmas Treasure Hunt.

Everyone gathered at Tun Jugah and wanted to try our luck picking a box from the 300 boxes laid out on the table. Only two boxes contained the treasure. I TELL YOU! It’s unbelievable but it’s true. What is the possibility of winning twice in a row!?!?? It’s such a lucky day for eggyolk. No cheating here, even though most winners were bloggers, it’s all about luck!

Everyone was supposed to have one chance only but during the first round, only one was found. So there’s second round and that’s when miracle happened! It’s found by the same person that found the first one!

They got BOTH! They sapu everything today! Without leaving anything for us hahaha… Not even a single bit! DAMN LUCKY! How lucky can that be!?!? RM5000 worth of diamond pendent with 17 diamonds on it and another one that costs about RM800 with 4 diamonds on it. Even in my dream I won’t be dreaming I got both. MAN! I tell you, they were really really LUCKY!

Besides that, they won the previous hunt on 22/12/2008.

In other words, they got 3 treasures in just two days and they got them all in very short period of time.

Told you… What’s not yours, will not be yours. Luckily I didn’t put any hope at all on today’s hunt. Congrates to eggyolk and Merry Chirstmas to everyone!

First of all I would like to apologise for being late in posting the riddle in my Twitter because I lost Twitter’s number in my phone and I didn’t have Internet connection to look for it also.

By the time I got the number, I found out that somebody found the treasure already! Guess what?!?! I met them at Minex! Right on time they went to claim the gift! Else I won’t know. Actually did try my luck for hours to hunt around Kuching in the morning but to no avail, it’s at Friendship Park under those litters under the cyrtostachys renda. I went to so many places but Friendship Park, how silly can that be!?!?

See the winners? They both found it and now they are discussing who should keep it! *LOL* It’s Norman and Fahriee, lucky guys!

Oh well… Even if I knew it’s at Friendship Park, it was long gone already coz the founders found it way before I’m out of the house or even not in time to reach there before them(they stay nearby) and they even got the mood to go celebrate before reporting the find. *SWEAT*

I’m really sorry about the delay and make you miss it today. I will try my best to post it as early as I could tomorrow. I’m really really sorry.

Oh! I just remember, Benjamin was the riddle yesterday! He wore specs!! *LOL* At one point, I did stare at his specs for a while so paiseh *LOL* See the sign again!?!? WAH! How slow I was?!?! I feel like banging my head to the wall now! ;p

Minex Jewellery’s ‘Finder’s Keepers’ Christmas Treasure Hunt‏. YES! It’s not wrong. Was invited to the press only event by Minex today and we did a treasure hunt in Tun Jugah.

Starting 15th Dec-24th Dec, you will be able to get jewellery for FREE! It’s free, you find it, you keep it, it can be anywhere in Kuching! If a begger found it before you do, then it’s his/hers. You have to get the riddles everyday to know where to find it else who knows you are just that lucky to see it without the riddles. I will update the riddles here everyday most probably in my Twitter, so better subscribe to my Twitter ;p Who knows you will be the lucky owner of jewellery worths more than RM800 or even more than RM10,000.

Remember to take note of this box. There’s no hidden agenda. You found it, it’s yours, you don’t have to pay anything! If you found it in a bed of flowers somewhere in town, just keep quiet and take it with you! Do not show it to others in public else you might be the next victim of snatching. It’s yours! Just take it and leave immediately!

Today, someone was so lucky to find it! After the briefing by Benjamin, we headed out to look for the box in Tun Jugah. Oh… One thing I have to mention, in fact I’m your riddle of the day! Kick me if you want to ;p Why? I never wear my spectacles to bloggers meet up or any event but today I wore my spectacles. The box was placed at Jee Kwong display window! Hehehehe… See? See the connection!?!? Ok… Ok… The italic statement is a joke!

It just happened that I have to wear my specs today(luckily got a new specs done else I’ll be wearing a very old specs of mine that is not very pleasant to see *LOL*) because my left eye is a bit reddish and itchy so I can’t wear my contact lense. Then when I reached, Ron was commenting about me wearing specs! It’s a sign! How stupid and slow can I be? The signs are telling me that the treasure can be found at the spectacles shop! How can I not notice it!?!? So close yet so far! ARG!! My bro was helping me to look for it and he was so close also! He was looking for it at the watch shop’s display window! Another ARG!

This is the treasure of the day! Amiey found it, 5 diamonds on it! Such a lucky girl. I was thinking of just putting my photo to fool you people again but decided not to as I don’t want you people to throw eggs to me when you see me next time on the street. Cyril can now save money for Christmas present for Amiey ;p

Of course, a group photo is a must.

I’m going out to hunt for one starting tomorrow! It’s so close today! *SMACK HEAD*

MV Doulos Here I Come

Posted on December 12, 2008December 12, 2008 By sweet surrender 14 Comments on MV Doulos Here I Come

Update: MUST GO! This will be the last time you can go on board of MV Doulos as it will retire in 2010 and will be replaced by Logos Hope, a new ship.

Here’s the map in case you don’t know how to go.

I missed it 7 years ago. Now, it’s here again! No way I’m going to miss it this time! Located at Sim Kheng Hong Port at Pending. Wondering how to go? Go to Pending Seafood Centre, don’t turn into the centre instead drive straight up, you will see the port there.

The ship! It’s part of my childhood, I’m sure it’s the same to everyone of you.

You can take photo with the mascot. I did! However, my photo isn’t with me. Spot the two guys there? One of them is cute ;p *LOL*

Luckily I didn’t wear my heels and didn’t wear skirt. The staircase is not nice to climb. I’m sure those wearing heels will have problem going up, don’t even say going down. It’s best to wear flip flop or just flats. Not to forget to capture the view from the ship.

View from another section of the ship.

You can see framed photos and information along the way before you reach the book shop.

I had fun with books like these last time. Will definitely buy many books back after the visit. Love those colouring books, puzzle books and sticker books. I was thinking of buying some back hehehe… It’s fun to stick those stickers around the book hehehe… They are so cute! I didn’t buy any though. Maybe during my next visit. They are priced in Unit, e.g. 100 Unit is RM8.

There are also souvenirs that you can buy. I saw many fancily designed bibles, I’m sure it will be one of it kind when you bring it to church ;p There are also many types of notebooks, cook books, self-help books, story books, CDs and etc. Young and old, I’m sure everyone will find something that they like there. It’s great to do Christmas shopping there. Better to give little children books rather than toys.

There was also mural painting competition going on when we were there.

The ship will leave after 2nd January 2009. Wonder when will I see it again. I sure do miss it!

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
