MV Doulos Here I Come

Posted on December 12, 2008December 12, 2008 By sweet surrender 14 Comments on MV Doulos Here I Come

Update: MUST GO! This will be the last time you can go on board of MV Doulos as it will retire in 2010 and will be replaced by Logos Hope, a new ship.

Here’s the map in case you don’t know how to go.

I missed it 7 years ago. Now, it’s here again! No way I’m going to miss it this time! Located at Sim Kheng Hong Port at Pending. Wondering how to go? Go to Pending Seafood Centre, don’t turn into the centre instead drive straight up, you will see the port there.

The ship! It’s part of my childhood, I’m sure it’s the same to everyone of you.

You can take photo with the mascot. I did! However, my photo isn’t with me. Spot the two guys there? One of them is cute ;p *LOL*

Luckily I didn’t wear my heels and didn’t wear skirt. The staircase is not nice to climb. I’m sure those wearing heels will have problem going up, don’t even say going down. It’s best to wear flip flop or just flats. Not to forget to capture the view from the ship.

View from another section of the ship.

You can see framed photos and information along the way before you reach the book shop.

I had fun with books like these last time. Will definitely buy many books back after the visit. Love those colouring books, puzzle books and sticker books. I was thinking of buying some back hehehe… It’s fun to stick those stickers around the book hehehe… They are so cute! I didn’t buy any though. Maybe during my next visit. They are priced in Unit, e.g. 100 Unit is RM8.

There are also souvenirs that you can buy. I saw many fancily designed bibles, I’m sure it will be one of it kind when you bring it to church ;p There are also many types of notebooks, cook books, self-help books, story books, CDs and etc. Young and old, I’m sure everyone will find something that they like there. It’s great to do Christmas shopping there. Better to give little children books rather than toys.

There was also mural painting competition going on when we were there.

The ship will leave after 2nd January 2009. Wonder when will I see it again. I sure do miss it!

Ooh. Interesting. I’ve never heard of Doulos until recently..but I guess that’s just normal since I’m not really from Kuching. Either that, or I’m really ignorant. Haha. Maybe I’ll drop by too when I’ve the chance. πŸ˜‰

Oh, by the way. There may be a lot of calendars, but our calendar is way more special! πŸ˜›

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
