Chapter 10: The Finale

Posted on June 10, 2008June 10, 2008 By sweet surrender 14 Comments on Chapter 10: The Finale

Continue from Chapter 9: IÒ€ℒm Relocating…

After the transition period, finally he started working in October 2004. I remember that his first flight with his new company was to Guam. As time went by, he got busier and didn’t contact me as much as he used to because of different time zones, the routes and roster were very different from his previous company. He’s tired most of the time and would went straight to sleep after his flight sometimes even without changing his uniform.

I didn’t get his phone calls, even not responding to my e-mails. At least he did on his MSN sometimes and we managed to chat a bit and replied my e-mails in there. One day in October, I finally got an e-mail from him. It’s rare to get an e-mail from him from Frankfurt or is it Copenhagen(don’t remember). I was so excited! The e-mail was the best e-mail ever, everytime I read it I would be in tears. According to his e-mail, he typed it quite sometimes ago but saved it in draft and decided to send it out to me because he missed me so badly. It was really touching.

After this e-mail, nothing again… Until… 25th December 2004, the e-mail to wish me Merry Chirstmas and to tell me that he’s busy, he’s in Copenhagen and it was freezing and he would contact me after 6th January 2005 which he would be freerer by then because the holiday season would be over. Also, he would be spending his new year in LA. I replied him saying that it’s the best Christmas present ever and looking forward for him to contact me.

6th January 2005, I was hoping he would call but no, not even a single e-mail or anything. I waited thinking that he might be busy. Until few days later, I got an e-mail with his name as the subject, I thought it was junk, so I sent it to junk folder but there’s a little voice that asked me to check the mail, I opened it, read it, I thought it was a prank but my hands started to shiver, my chest tightening, my eyes filled with tears, part of me still thought that it’s a prank as he told me he would be in LA for new year, how was it possible he went to Phuket!?!?

I quickly sent an e-mail to him about it. At the same time, replied to the person that sent me the e-mail. I kept reading the mail over and over again to find some clues that it’s not real. I didn’t sleep that night, I was worried, I was afraid, I’ve been crying quietly. I was hoping it’s a prank and kept praying and praying.

Next day in the office, I checked my mail and saw that person replied saying that they were still looking for him and he went there because he managed to secure leaves to go back to his hometown(Kuching) but before that he would spend 3 days at Phuket. There wasn’t a sign of him replying me. Everything shattered into pieces. It got worst when I found out that he was supposed to come here to meet me. I tried to hide my feelings as if nothing happened. I’m still trying to be hopeful that he would be found alive but sadly later that night, I got another e-mail confirming that he’s gone.

I was still in doubt, I demanded on how he was able to get my e-mail. I was told that his PDA was stored in the hotel’s safe, this is the only thing spared from the tragedy, his laptop and everything were damaged. His mother asked that person to send out e-mails to everyone in his PDA to inform them about the tragedy that hit him.

I’m glad he did keep my contact safely as I told him about my concern before. If the PDA was not in the safe, I would be in dark, I might not know his fate, I might labelled him as someone bad because he “played” with my feelings and went missing out of a sudden. I’m glad it didn’t end that way.

There wasn’t a goodbye in his last e-mail. There would never be one. The rest is history.

Here I am, sharing this with you. I thought I would finish this story without much emotions but I was so wrong. I was already in tears when I’m in the second paragraph. It’s not that I can’t let go of him, it’s just something sad, the worst thing that happened to me so far. Our relationship was brief but I learnt a lot from him. It had changed my life perspectives and things happened for a reason. We were not meant to be but I’m meant to be with someone else.

To you-know-who-you-are, if it’s not for him, we won’t know each other. You are who you are. I hope things will work out for us. I hope it will go well. Thanks for that phone call the other day. I’ve not been experiencing such warm fussy feelings ever since his dismiss. You had made my day. Miss you.

Poppies – Mommy Chapter

Posted on April 29, 2008April 28, 2008 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Poppies – Mommy Chapter

After seeing the things for babies, we must not forget about the mommies also. Daddies should from time to time pamper the mommies. Without them, you won’t have your babies. Hahaha… Let’s see what you can give to your wife to make her feel that you love and care and play an active role for your children.

Left: Some all time favourite pregnancy and childbirth books are available.
Right: Breast pumps for mommies. For some guys, you must be wondering what is this for. Hahaha… It’s for your wife to pump the breast milk out to store in bottles for your kids! Got it??!?! Breastfeeding is good for your baby and personally I strongly support breastfeeding. πŸ™‚ I’m not breastfed last time, I was fed with S26, formulated milk that was quite popular back then, now there are many brands available.

Pregnant women also want to feel pretty, deserve to wear nice clothings too. Poppies also offer maternity clothings. In May, there will be a fashion show and talks for parent-to-be and various activities by Poppies at tHe Spring. I will keep you updated about it.

Your wife deserves to be pampered with beauty and health products that do not contain harmful substances to the baby. Oh My Sweetness!!(I’m going to use this from now in instead of OH My Goodness or OMG hahaha…) Anything that is safe for pregnant ladies are safe for you are me. So if you are looking for lotions, creams, shower gels, lipbalms, soaps and so on that are safe for use, you can get these, they are all quality products imported from US, Aus, NZ and UK. Told you this shop is for everyone hahaha…

It’s a mommy friendly shop where you can use the diaper changing room or nursing room to change your baby diaper or breastfed your baby in there.

Poppies carries wide range of products for mommies from the time she got pregnant to after the baby is born. I only show you some here, there are also baby slings, nursing pads, bras, pillows, maternity sanitary pads, surgical ring cushions and so on. Check them out at Poppies. I’m sure you will find what you need there.

Next up… Things for older babies, kids and big kids like us!! WAKAKA… I saw some nice stuffs there… Can someone buy for me? Please… *BLEK*

Poppies – Baby Chapter

Posted on April 28, 2008April 29, 2008 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on Poppies – Baby Chapter

Poppies is a type of flower. Did you know there’s another meaning for it? You know how the locals here like to called babies “ang gugu”? People overseas will call their babies “poppies”. Interesting, I didn’t know this until I visited Poppies at tHe Spring to see what they have to offer. It’s a new shop that sells stuffs for babies, children, mommies and also the big kids like us hahaha… Was honoured to be invited to feature this place in my blog by My Privilege Book and Poppies. I went there yesterday with few more Kuching Bloggers. They were Alex and Deluxe, Anna, Cherlyn, Edwin, and Jimmy.

I’m sure if we don’t have children or babies or intend to shop for friend’s baby shower and so on, you won’t be stepping into this shop. How wrong was I. I will split this post into parts to share with you the interesting stuffs that I found in there. This shop is for everyone!!

Left: Do check out the islands to find great offers that they have from time to time. Every Wednesday, they will have some special offers on certain products. It’s a good time to go and look around on stuffs for your poppies hehehe…
Right: Kids will surely be bored, so they can play here but of course must have someone looking after them, don’t leave them there alone to play.

Things for your baby’s bedroom. You can get cots, mattress, pillows, cradles, blankets and so much more!! Spoilt for choices hahaha… Cuteness overdose also hahaha…

Clothes for babies are available also.

These had grabbed our attention! It’s stockings!! Hehehe… So cute!! Great for gift.

Things for feeding your babies. Major brands are available here such as Avent, Chicco etc. You can get stuffs from UK, US, NZ or Aus here. You don’t have to fly to KL for it anymore. This is why the owner started this business as she had problem looking for things for her baby last time. The first shop is located in Sibu, I’m sure those living in Sibu will know Poppies. This is the second shop, opened in March in tHe Spring.

Milk powder and diapers are essentials for babies. It’s never cheap but you can get benefits from Poppies if you are their member. Signing up as a member only require RM30 for lifetime membership, no annual renewal, no expiration of points. RM1=1 point and you can use these accumulated points to get freebies or enjoy special offers. Special card is given to you to record down the number of milk powder and diapers that you had purchased. With 10 stamps collected, you are entitle for selected offer.

Car seats and strollers. We were told that you must start putting your baby on car seat as early as possible so that when he/she got older, he/she will get used to the idea and won’t make a fuss about it. Start early is the key.

Baby food from Australia. Very colourful hehehe… Wanna try?

Mommy chapter coming up…

Happy Birthday Paul @ Oregano

Posted on April 17, 2008November 21, 2008 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Happy Birthday Paul @ Oregano

Today is Paul’s birthday, 25th birthday. Yesterday we had an early celebration, organised by his sister, Rose at Oregano. It’s not easy to trick him out without letting him know that we were going to have a surprise birthday celebration for him because he didn’t want to go out last night and Rose had to trick him by asking him to send My Privilege Book to me at Oregano *LOL*

Oregano… Ignore that pink “boy” that teleported here to join us πŸ˜› Hahaha… Very nice effect right?

Let’s see what we had last night… I don’t have all the names and prices, just want to show your some of the food we had.

Some of the drinks…

FOOD!

The birthday boy with his presents and tiramisu. Guess how much this cake costed Rose? Hahaha…

The tiramisu, the birthday cake for the night. Quite nice but not recommended to eat too much *LOL*

I don’t have the group photo to share…

Lastly, Happy Buttday to you Paul! 25 years old with your 25 wrinkles hahaha…
