Mini Bloggers Dinner @ Sarawak Club with Minex Jewellery

Posted on December 31, 2008January 1, 2009 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on Mini Bloggers Dinner @ Sarawak Club with Minex Jewellery

Remember the treasure hunt? As a token of appreciation from Minex to some bloggers and friends for helping them to promote the event, Ben decided to treat us for a dinner after I jokingly stated that whoever got sick searching for the treasure under the rain can ask Ben to boil chicken soup for them ;p The joke turned out to be real that Ben decided to treat us “chicken soup”. Lukcily it’s not just chicken soup, no chicken soup but got chicken meat hahaha…

Last night, we were all dressed up to gather at Sarawak Club. My second time to Sarawak Club. First time was more than 10 years ago, went there swimming with my friend. This is the first time I step into the new Sarawak Club after the fire few years back.

Must camwhore! If not wasted my time for dressing up hehehe… I’m so glad my hair behaved so well last night. Amiey and I, we(Amiey, Cyril, Jimmy and I) were so early! 😉 We reached before 7pm.

Finally, everyone arrived and it’s time to order food and drinks. We had our dinner at Hornbill Restaurant. Ben booked two tables for us.

The fact is that I was expecting a private room hehehe… This is because after organising so many bloggers’ meets, I know that bloggers are usually the loud bunch and also camwhoring bunch. When I saw that we were seated in the main hall, I was thinking to myself, “OH… OH… This is going to be interesting! I hope it won’t get Ben into trouble”.

It really got so noisy that I think the table behind us was suppsoed to have a peaceful family dinner ended up got distracted by the noise from the other table hahaha… That table got so many stares last night from the diners. *SWEAT* Before they left, we were told by one of them that we could have the hall to ourselves as we were the last ones to leave, paiseh…

I’m sure it’s an eye opener to Ben and Varena. Usually people pray before they eat but we take pictures before we eat. Then we camwhored a lot! Imagine all the cameras last night, luckily not many flashes else it sure got on the nerves of the diners there. Hehehe… The other table was noisy and ours were quite quiet but with many camera’s clicking away! I actually camwhored with the DSLRs that I could get my hands on ;p

According to Michael, our table was filled with “old” people and his table was filled with “young” people that’s why our table wasn’t happening *LOL* The youngest at our table was Amiey who just graduated from secondary school and the youngest at their table got some secondary school students. See that? ;p

Some of the drinks(watermelon, honey dew, lime, and orange juice) and the menu.

Ben & Varena sure fed us to the max ;p Was so full that I couldn’t sleep last night. The food was really tasty! Usually food like this won’t get much comments from me because I got so fed up of eating these kind of food already but those we had last night sure blown me away. Yummy… Yummy… CRAP! I’m craving for last night food now -.-”

The food and drinks here are reasonably priced but it’s only for the members, not public. If only we can get such nice food and such prices out there in the market. Too bad… No… If you want to dine here, you have to know someone in here to get you in. You can afford the food but you sure cannot afford the membership fee. It’s a private club what, what do you expect?

Now… I have to dig the menu out to see what Ben & Vanera ordered last night. I’m not so sure whether they are corect or not even with the menu hehehe…

Left: I can’t find this in the menu, it’s sweet corn soup.

Right: Special Hot and Cold Combination, this should be it as I can’t find others that fit the name well. The sushi’s wasabi tasted odd, the boxing chicken is nice but i had problem eating with chopsticks and ended up using my fingers *BLEK*. As for the rest, I got nothing to say.

Left: You come here, you must eat the Buttered Prawn. They are famous for their buttered prawn. It was indeed nice. I thougth it came with the shells but no shell at all.

Right: Lamb Chop Szechuan Style, it’s nice. I love it, the meat is very tender.

Left: Seriously, I have no idea what this is, there’s mango, there’s jellyfish, there’s chicken meat with mayonaise and the crispy chicken skin. My guess according to the menu is Roasted Chicken Thai Style because of the mango in there. Something special and different, I like the skin.

Right: A type of beancurd dish, I’m not sure what is this! Really, I can’t find which name suits it in the menu. Could be Homemade Beancurd?

Left: Baby Kailan with Garlic, very fresh vegetable and crunchy too but too bad was quite full and managed to eat some only.

Right: Palm Fruit & Longan, very sweet!!

Group photo before we leave.

Thanks for the dinner Minex.

First of all I would like to apologise for being late in posting the riddle in my Twitter because I lost Twitter’s number in my phone and I didn’t have Internet connection to look for it also.

By the time I got the number, I found out that somebody found the treasure already! Guess what?!?! I met them at Minex! Right on time they went to claim the gift! Else I won’t know. Actually did try my luck for hours to hunt around Kuching in the morning but to no avail, it’s at Friendship Park under those litters under the cyrtostachys renda. I went to so many places but Friendship Park, how silly can that be!?!?

See the winners? They both found it and now they are discussing who should keep it! *LOL* It’s Norman and Fahriee, lucky guys!

Oh well… Even if I knew it’s at Friendship Park, it was long gone already coz the founders found it way before I’m out of the house or even not in time to reach there before them(they stay nearby) and they even got the mood to go celebrate before reporting the find. *SWEAT*

I’m really sorry about the delay and make you miss it today. I will try my best to post it as early as I could tomorrow. I’m really really sorry.

Oh! I just remember, Benjamin was the riddle yesterday! He wore specs!! *LOL* At one point, I did stare at his specs for a while so paiseh *LOL* See the sign again!?!? WAH! How slow I was?!?! I feel like banging my head to the wall now! ;p

Minex Jewellery’s ‘Finder’s Keepers’ Christmas Treasure Hunt‏. YES! It’s not wrong. Was invited to the press only event by Minex today and we did a treasure hunt in Tun Jugah.

Starting 15th Dec-24th Dec, you will be able to get jewellery for FREE! It’s free, you find it, you keep it, it can be anywhere in Kuching! If a begger found it before you do, then it’s his/hers. You have to get the riddles everyday to know where to find it else who knows you are just that lucky to see it without the riddles. I will update the riddles here everyday most probably in my Twitter, so better subscribe to my Twitter ;p Who knows you will be the lucky owner of jewellery worths more than RM800 or even more than RM10,000.

Remember to take note of this box. There’s no hidden agenda. You found it, it’s yours, you don’t have to pay anything! If you found it in a bed of flowers somewhere in town, just keep quiet and take it with you! Do not show it to others in public else you might be the next victim of snatching. It’s yours! Just take it and leave immediately!

Today, someone was so lucky to find it! After the briefing by Benjamin, we headed out to look for the box in Tun Jugah. Oh… One thing I have to mention, in fact I’m your riddle of the day! Kick me if you want to ;p Why? I never wear my spectacles to bloggers meet up or any event but today I wore my spectacles. The box was placed at Jee Kwong display window! Hehehehe… See? See the connection!?!? Ok… Ok… The italic statement is a joke!

It just happened that I have to wear my specs today(luckily got a new specs done else I’ll be wearing a very old specs of mine that is not very pleasant to see *LOL*) because my left eye is a bit reddish and itchy so I can’t wear my contact lense. Then when I reached, Ron was commenting about me wearing specs! It’s a sign! How stupid and slow can I be? The signs are telling me that the treasure can be found at the spectacles shop! How can I not notice it!?!? So close yet so far! ARG!! My bro was helping me to look for it and he was so close also! He was looking for it at the watch shop’s display window! Another ARG!

This is the treasure of the day! Amiey found it, 5 diamonds on it! Such a lucky girl. I was thinking of just putting my photo to fool you people again but decided not to as I don’t want you people to throw eggs to me when you see me next time on the street. Cyril can now save money for Christmas present for Amiey ;p

Of course, a group photo is a must.

I’m going out to hunt for one starting tomorrow! It’s so close today! *SMACK HEAD*

Pinky’s Wedding Reception @ Hilton

Posted on November 24, 2008November 24, 2008 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Pinky’s Wedding Reception @ Hilton

Hmm… Nothing much to say, I’ll just let the photo do most of the talking. Food part will come later. The lighting was so bad that it’s not easy to get any nice photos of the food but luckily the stage lighting was all right.

When we’re at Hilton, it’s almost 7pm already. We’re late but reception not started yet, typical Malaysian time that’s it.

Here you go… They had a belly dancer and a also a comedy performance that night.

Didn’t take much photos last night. Only have some shoots with friends but not the bride and groom. I don’t have any proper photo of the bride and groom also. Got no chance at all to have photo opportunity with them, they are too busy entertaining other guests.

It’s all right. Congratulations again and it’s an honour to be invited 🙂

Pinky’s Wedding

Posted on November 23, 2008November 24, 2008 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Pinky’s Wedding

Look who is getting married to today? Photos were taken by Jimmy as I wasn’t there. Congrates Pinky!

I wasn’t there to be her ji mui coz she didn’t ask me and also I didn’t ask her *LOL* People said that if you had already been a bridesmaid/ji mui in 3 weddings, you will never get marry anymore, do you believe in it? ;p

I’ve been in 3 already. Ann’s(as her bridesmaid, this definitely counted as one), Ely & Cindy(joined Ely’s heng dai, does this count? I was there to take pictures only and not involved in anything they are doing *LOL*), and Lilian’s(not sure to consider as ji mui or not coz joined them last minute just to take photos *LOL*, count or not?). So if I’m joining Pinky’s today then it’s my 4th!! Do you think I want to take the risk? *LOL*

NUH~ I don’t believe in such kind of thing ;p It’s good also that I didn’t join her for the morning ceremony because I have class in the afternoon and a presentation also -.-” I will have no time to rest at all based on my previous expriences. If I don’t have class, then I might make my face thick thick and asked her to let me be there in the morning *LOL*

Oh ya, Pinky if you see this, go blame Jimmy for the photos ;p

The reception is tonight at Hilton. Stay tuned for more photos, hopefully can get nice photos for this wedding.

P/S: Notice someone at the background?(I know… the photo is small ;p) The photographer? Hehehe… That’s Edwin.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
