Good Friday 2008

Posted on March 21, 2008March 23, 2008 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Good Friday 2008

Today is Good Friday. I decided to go to church for the service because I’ve never been to one before. Here’s the photos.

Only manage to take photo of the choir because earlier on during the praising session I felt shy to take out my camera because no one was taking any photo and video. Eeeek… Here are the videos, just short ones, a portion only:
Good Friday 2008 Choir, Ching Kwong Methodist Church (1)
Good Friday 2008 Choir, Ching Kwong Methodist Church (2), hehehe… sorry for the shakiness πŸ˜› I’m trying to get better view since I’m sitting quite far behind but at location where it’s higher and I was using my bible as the platform on my right leg. What to do? No tripod and I dare not to hold my camera high πŸ˜›

Everyone wore black today, well… Not really everyone but those on duty were wearing black as a sign of mourning as today is the day to commemorate the crucification of Christ. My first time attending a Good Friday church service(so called Christian :P).

As for this Sunday, it’s Easter, I’m sure it’s going to be colourful with mood of celebrations because Jesus was resurrected on the third day. However, I don’t think I’ll be going as there’s something that I need to attend to on that day.

Anyway, enjoy your long holiday people.

Malaysia Travel Fair (MATF) 22-24 Feb 2008

Posted on February 23, 2008February 23, 2008 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on Malaysia Travel Fair (MATF) 22-24 Feb 2008

It’s been a while not going to exhibitions or trade shows to do coverage. Finally got the chance now but of course we had to pay our own entrance fee. Malaysia Travel Fair (MATF) is scheduled from Feb 22 Ò€” 24. It’s held at Permata Exhibition Centre.

I was relunctant to go when I found out that I need to pay RM2 entrance fee to visit the travel fair… Went in… It’s sort of a dissapointment especially if you do not plan to go for any holiday or you want to but you can’t decide in few days times and you are lack of fund for it. πŸ™ However, if you are all geared up to make sure you grab the great offers and deals, it can be really a place to go though not many booths still you can grab cheap flight tickets from MAS.

With this wrist band, you can go in and out of the hall freely. We were given some souveniers such as the durian luggage tag with Lat’s comic at the back, also some bookmarks. When you’re in there, there’re lots of brochures to grab, also MASwings postcards.

Some views inside the hall.

I wish I can take those packages on offer such as the cruise but it’s expensive and the departure is in few days time -.-“. Those cheap flight tickets… πŸ™ I want too… No money no talk… I still don’t have enough money and even the mood to plan to travel to anywhere yet… Such wrong timing…

Sarawak Foundry and Engineering Industries AssociationÒ€ℒs Chinese New Year Dinner

Posted on February 19, 2008November 23, 2008 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Sarawak Foundry and Engineering Industries AssociationÒ€ℒs Chinese New Year Dinner

Was invited by Lee to Sarawak Foundry and Engineering Industries AssociationÒ€ℒs Chinese New Year Dinner last Saturday(16.02.08) at Crown Square. This is my third year attending it. I went there for the food and to catch up with Lee *LOL* Why not!??!? Free dinner!! I didn’t care whatever is happening around, all I care was the food and catching up with my best friend. Every year, he tried to ask other friends in our group to attend but they always turn the invitation down and I’m the only one attended it hahaha… This was where I drank 3 quarter glass of Tiger beer and got allergy attack in the middle of the night! My first time drinking beer *BLEK* Good thing I was OK when I woke up.

Frankly, I think that this is a very good opportunity for all of us to attend because you don’t have to pay for the food and we can have a gathering there, kill two birds with one stone but too bad… Since he’s always looking for people to fill the table, I asked Jimmy to join last year, at least somebody could pick me up πŸ˜› Of course, feast him with free dinner, nothing wrong πŸ˜› Hahaha… This year he joined us too. It’s a win-win situation *LOL*

Here’s the food. Not that appetizing -.-” Lee agreed too, no hard feelings. There were Malay Datuk and Datin attending the function but there’s pork served! I thought they would standardise the menu so that no pork is served. We were quite surprise with the braised pork with bun. This is an eye opener to me, in previous functions that I attended, if there were Muslims attending, there won’t be pork served. Of course, the Datin and Datuk didn’t sit at the normal tables, they were at the VIP table with the organising committee.

Ok… I’ll briefly introduce the dishes, I’m not sure of the exact names.
Clockwise: Combination platter, noodle(forgot what it’s called :P), braised pork with bun, Broccoli and “mian jing”(don’t know what it’s called in English, it’s a type of vegetarian food, they usually use this to make vegetarian meat), steamed fish(don’t know what kind of fish), herbal chicken soup, prawn(tasted sweet, sour with hints of tomato and curry taste) with mantou, and fruit platter.

There was also cake but it’s ugly. I stole all the pictures from Jimmy’s blog hahaha… He didn’t put the cake picture up so I didn’t have it too. The food photos were taken by me but since he didn’t sent it to me, I could only steal it. πŸ˜›

Thanks for the invite Lee, you can count on me to attend it every year *LOL* Free dinner!! Who doesn’t want!??! πŸ˜›

Where’s The CNY Mood?

Posted on February 2, 2008August 26, 2010 By sweet surrender 10 Comments on Where’s The CNY Mood?

Chinese New Year is coming soon… 7th February 2008, WOW! Now it’s February… It feels like just yesterday we welcomed 2008. In less than one week, only few days, Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year will come. -.-” Guess what?!??!?! I have no CNY mood! I don’t feel any. In the passed years, we would be busy spring cleaning but this year… Haven’t start at all! Oh dear… I guess we will only start on the eve’s *LOL*

Even the market is quiet…

Went to Kenyalang, lots of cars, hard to find parking but not many people. Most people came and left empty handed or only with small bags instead of big bags like it used to. It’s not sardine packed also, you can move around easily. Kenyalang is already so “cold”… The rest of the places would be worst!

Indeed…

Went to Padungan, the Chinese New Year Bazaar, I took part in it last year hahaha… It’s my first and last time, no more! Hahaha… It’s pathetic this year! Only few stalls, it ended at Tao, unlike previous years that ended way after the police station which is another block next to Tao. Not many people buying things, many came to see, see, look, look, walk, walk only.

As usual there’s performance every night on stage. Trying to get some mood from it but… Still cannot… Still no CNY mood -.-” Oh dear! What’s wrong with me? Apparently, I’m not the only one. Many of my friends and even my parents also feel this way. Where’s the CNY spirits? Where’s the mood?

The famous cat is dressed in Chinese costume and surrounded by hanging lanterns and colourful lightings are installed along Padungan area.

Many people at Boulevard and always long queue at the hypermarket counter. At least people are buying a trolley or two of goods back. Maybe everyone shopped here that’s why the CNY Bazaars are so quiet. We managed to shop a trolley πŸ˜› However, it’s not all CNY goodies, mostly are just the everyday groceries.

Do you feel the Spring is coming? Do you have the mood? I still don’t have any mood… Will be baking some cookies today to cultivate the mood, not sure it works or not? *LOL*

The Opening Ceremony Of Sushi King In Sarawak – Part 2

Posted on January 31, 2008January 31, 2008 By sweet surrender 13 Comments on The Opening Ceremony Of Sushi King In Sarawak – Part 2

The food served at the buffet table! Lots of them *SLURP*

We didn’t eat much of the above. We only had these:

Why? We sat too far away from it and it’s not that good to walk in and out at the VIP area. We were seated at the VIP area because earlier on the seat assigned by the manager to us at the other section was taken, so we had no more place to sit. Therefore the Asst. Business Development Manager tried to look for a place for us and WOW! :p She asked us to sit at the VIP section! At the corner hahaha… Asked us to don’t make so much noise. Of course, we were happy and kept as quiet as possible when we were there. Hehehe…

Every table has this, yee sang. This is introduced in conjunction of CNY celebration. This portion is for 4-6 people, the portion is big! 5 of us couldn’t finish it! Only RM38.88, quite cheap, very affordable and I quite like it. Yummy… If you order this, you will be given a pack of ang paos for your CNY usage. It will be out on the menu starting 1st February 2008.

On your mark… Get set…

Let’s start lao lao lao! Hahaha…

Instead of the buffet… We had these!!!

We ate 23 plates(the photo has less, I editted the wrong photo hahaha…) for 6 of us. Not really a lot for the 6 of us. What to do? We did eat other things before we attacked the kaiten sushi hahaha… The total that we consumed was RM110, haven’t include service tax, GST and the RM38.88 yee sang. Good thing was that, it’s on the house! The manager let us ate as much as we could hehehe… Even challenged us to break the ‘twin tower’ record hehehe… However, we are not like some people that took advantage of it, we ate whatever we could and left when we were supposed to leave.

We camwhored a lot and kept asking them to help us take photos. Hehehe…

I camwhored too πŸ˜› Hehehe… *Blek* Just an excuse to post my photos. Only see 22 plates here, Georgette was still eating the final last one, we took the opportunity to camwhore hahaha…

The satisfied bloggers(Rose, Alysha, Me, Jimmy, Georgette who joined us later after covering MPH opening at The Spring, she went as a press instead of blogger and Greg, almost cannot see him in the photo hahaha…) hehehe… We’re full. We were well fed and thanks to the management of Sushi King for giving us such special treatments and made sure we were well fed, and ensured that we were happy and comfortable. Also accommodate some of our “requests” hahaha… Thanks to the organiser too!

Kuching bloggers RAWKSSSS! Hehehe…. πŸ˜›

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
