Happy Goat Year 2015

Posted on February 19, 2015February 19, 2015 By sweet surrender No Comments on Happy Goat Year 2015

Happy Chinese New Year! Goat year this year. A mandatory post to wish you a very happy celebrations and may the year be a good one.

Normally the post will be prepared on the eve but this year on the first day of CNY. Photos are fresh out from this morning events.

Wearing red for the first day. Too bad I couldn’t get a red heels. This year’s CNY is different.

On CNY’s eve, we went out for dinner instead of having it at home. Yee sang is from the dinner last night.

This year, I didn’t do much baking. No time to spare. No stamina also *LOL*

On first day of CNY, went to catch the lion dance performance at hotel. Then after that made an impromptu decision to tag along visiting some houses with my colleagues.

Nails were done only this morning before going to work! No red fingernails this year, quite tedious to do, just plain bare nails with transparent polish. Only did red on my two toes.

That’s all for now! A video to end the post. Have fun! Holiday is ending soon… Wonder when my next post is going to be.

Happy 2015

Posted on January 1, 2015 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Happy 2015

First post of 2015. First time I joined countdown in Kuching. 2 years ago joined the countdown in Christchurch. All the other years, either just spent it at home, in Incheon Airport’s toilet, or sleeping in hotel room in Singapore *LOL*

Some food from New Year’s Eve buffet at Aurora Court. Too bad, didn’t eat anything hahaha… Just took photos.

For countdown, I went to Victoria Arms. It’s my first time counting down there and also very likely the last time too. Why so? You’ll know next time ;p Went out from the house around 10.15pm, got caught in the jam and only reached there at 11.10pm. Normally it just took me 10 minutes from home! -.-” Took the wrong road that’s why.

Here’s the video I took last night of the countdown. Really amazed with how good the quality is from my new phone, Microsoft Lumia 535.

New year, new direction. So as usual… Reflection of 2014…

Got a new job in February, I had to change my lifestyle because of the new job. Learnt many new things and met many interesting people. Some might know what and where I work but still not many know about it. I’m not revealing it also hahaha… If you are observant enough you will know where I work. I don’t know when I’ll reveal it ;p Will just let u find out about it yourself.

Also, got another part-time job before I got the full-time job.

Made 2 impromptu trips also this year, one to Langkawi, one to Perth. Lucky to grab the direct flight to Langkawi as now the flight is ceased, no more direct flight from Kuching to Langkawi. Perth trip was quite a pleasant, I’m glad I made the trip to Down Under. Never expect I will go back there so soon.

Was silly enough to feel for someone. Luckily didn’t took a step further. Backed off in time, just not the right one. Phew… I’m blessed.

Attended a lot of weddings this year, not only friends’ but also family. It’s a year of marriage! Even tomorrow, there will be one to attend. So many invitations. I foresee more invitations coming my way *gulp* Is this a sign that soon it will be my turn? Hahaha… *dreaming*

I’m learning to express gratitude on anything that came my way, be it good or bad. Always look at things from two sides too. Law of attractions is indeed working it’s magical way. Even though I’ve not gotten all that I wanted but I’m feeling good on whatever it is happening now, I believe it’s the transition to the good things to come. I’m thankful for those who care and love me, money that is given to me throughout my life, and good health that is keeping me alive.

Next year resolution? None… I never set resolutions. I made resolutions once when I went to Adelaide and everything just didn’t turn out as planned. Better don’t make any. Just go with the flow.

To end this post, I wish you a very happy new year and hope the year brings you happiness.

Tourism Appreciation Night 2014

Posted on December 23, 2014December 23, 2014 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Tourism Appreciation Night 2014

Last Sunday, it was my first time attending Tourism Appreciation Night 2014. Went there with my colleagues on behalf of the company. Dress code of the night was red and/or white.

Nothing much to do while waiting for VVIPs, so played with the gingerbread men πŸ˜› Ate one of them too as we couldn’t start eating until about 9.30pm -.-” sooooo hungry…

Finally they arrived to launch the Calender of Events 2015. Next year will also be known as MyFest 2015. Do expect lots of festivals next year.

We have the Minister of Tourism Sarawak (Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Abang Haji Openg), the outgoing CEO of Sarawak Tourism Board (Dato Rashid Khan), and Tourism Malaysia Chairman (Tan Sri DatoÒ€ℒ Sri Dr. Ng Yen).

To end the night, the organizer performed poco poco and VVIPs were invited to go up the stage to dance with them. You definitely won’t see this everyday. They sure danced very well.

I’m surprise with how well Tan Sri DatoÒ€ℒ Sri Dr. Ng Yen danced the poco poco.

Christmas eve tomorrow… Gonna work late… Hopefully can get my Perth trip posts concluded soon. Next month will be Penang ;p

Christmas at Four Points By Sheraton Kuching

Posted on December 13, 2014December 15, 2014 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Christmas at Four Points By Sheraton Kuching

Christmas is around the corner!! Meaning the year is ending. Oh no! Why time flies so fast?

Experienced an early celebration of Christmas with glorious food from Four Points By Sheraton Kuching. It’s been a long time not attending this kind of event. Glad to be part of it. Was invited to join the associates of the hotel and children from Salvation Army for “Christmas Love Treats”. Not to forget to be mesmerized by the choir from St James Kpg Kuap.

There were so much food there! Guess what? I concentrated more on the Seafood on Ice and desserts. Didn’t eat much of other things (opppsss…) because I was rather stuffed from the earlier food tasting before the event. If you go to The Eatery, I’m sure you know they have great selection of Seafood on Ice. This is my favourite section. Half shelled Scallop, Green Shell Mussels, and Oyster are something I won’t miss wherever I go if these are available. I can just eat them and I’m satisfied ;p I’m sure many will “attack” this section first.

Left: Create Your Own Salad Counter where you can find Cobb Salad with condiments, Sauteed Fresh Button Mushroom Salad with Coriander, Christmas Egg Salad with Beef Bacon, Grilled Mixed Vegetables with Bacon Bites and Parmesan Cheese Salad, and so much more!

Oh ya! Don’t forget the Lobster Bisque with Truffle Oil and Crab Meat, this is very rich soup, fabulously goes with bread rolls and loaf. I tried this on its own and it’s quite salty however if you pair it with the bread, it’s absolutely delicious!

Right: The dessert corner.

Was attracted by all the Christmas desserts on display, hence you see all these photos hahaha…

Left: You must have the cheesecake! Sinfully rich to indulge!

You really have to go there to indulge for yourself because there’s a whole lot more of lovely food to fill your stomach with. According to my dining mates who tried a lot of the food, they were very pleased with all of them. I did try a bit of each from their plates too.

Since the festive season is around the corner, you will have the opportunities to try them out. Do not miss out on Santa and the carolers on Christmas Eve (7-8pm) while you are having dinner. Santa will still be around on Christmas day till 1pm for brunch. Here’s the list of buffets for Christmas and New Year celebrations:

Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve dinner, RM98.00++ per person
Christmas Day Brunch or New Year Brunch, RM58.00++ per person
Christmas Day Dinner or New Year Dinner, RM78.00++ per person

Just give them a call 082-280888 to book your place, I’m sure it will be packed, so be sure to book early.

If you like the Christmas desserts in this post to spice up your Christmas get-together at home, you can order them one day in advance. They also have Roast Turkey(RM300+, at least 5kg), Roast Australia Leg of Lamb (RM200+, at least 3kg), and Arabic Roasted Whole Lamb with Rice Stuffing (RM900+, at least 14kg).

Last but not least, group photo is a must πŸ˜›

Zalora Pop-up Store at CityOne

Posted on September 21, 2014September 24, 2014 By sweet surrender 5 Comments on Zalora Pop-up Store at CityOne

Yesterday, at CityOne, attended a function organized by Zalora. I’ve not been to CityOne for ages until now. Just found out Zalora Pop-Up store is now in Kuching. However, it won’t be there for long, only from 16th to 30th September.

Left: The Marketing Director of Zalora Malaysia, Luca Barberis, with the PR manager Anna.
Right: Photo time!!!

After the press session at Fullhouse, we went to the pop-up store where the stage is. Stacy Anam started the fashion show by singing a song.

Enjoy the photos featuring latest collection of Zalora label.

Third from left, Carron Kho, local celebrity model, wearing one of the latest collection.

Do drop by CityOne for Zalora pop-up store to check out the items so that you can buy online from Zalora with a peace of mind as you have seen the quality yourself.

Also, don’t forget about the marketplace, great for those budding designers to sell their collections online using Zalora platform. They will take care of all the marketing and posting of the products. You just need to register and supply. 20% from the sales will be paid to Zalora.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
