Biore UV Colour Control CC Milk SPF 50+ PA++++ Review

Posted on July 7, 2022August 25, 2022 By sweet surrender No Comments on Biore UV Colour Control CC Milk SPF 50+ PA++++ Review

I ran out of Biore UV Perfect Biore UV Perfect Face Milk SPF50+ PA++++. I’ve been using this for over a decade. Sometimes, if it’s out of stock, I would get Biore UV Bright Face Milk SPF 50+ PA++++. Basically, it works the same as Perfect Face Milk except it claims to correct dullness but I didn’t see much difference. I don’t really bother, the price is affordable and it offers the same kind of UV protection. That’s good enough. I’m using it as my makeup base too. Here’s a simple review that I did on my Instagram back in 2018.

Biore UV Colour Control CC Milk SPF 50+ PA++++ is another variant found in the Biore UV range. I never wanted to get this because I am not into CC. I just want a basic daily sunscreen for the face. However, when I ran out of Bright Face Milk a few weeks back, I wanted to get Perfect Face Milk yet there wasn’t any stock in all the major pharmacies that I went to. Even Bright Face Milk was not available.
Biore UV Colour Control CC Milk SPF 50+ PA++++
Seriously?!?! Only one bottle of Biore UV Colour Control CC Milk SPF 50+ PA++++ left on the shelf at Watsons! No choice because I used up the last bit, it’s empty!! I ended up with this and praying that it will be as sheer as Perfect and Bright.

Biore UV Colour Control CC Milk SPF 50+ PA++++
When I got home, I read the packaging. OMG! Oh dear… This is totally not the kind of sunscreen that I want for daily use. “Beige Make Up Base”! Oh boy… I was still hoping it is the very sheer type but…

The Result

Biore UV Colour Control CC Milk SPF 50+ PA++++
Left: Look at the colour! OH NO!!! Not sheer. My skin doesn’t work well with liquid-based makeup. All my makeups are powder-based. I don’t use liquid foundation or even concealer. It will always go cakey on me and got stuck in the nook and cranny of my face. My pores, my fine lines, my facial hair, and so on. I don’t even use lipstick/lip tint/lip gloss. Just lip balm.

Right: Here! I applied it to half of my face. Can you see the difference? Not that obvious in the photo but the one with the CC Milk looks a bit brighter. You can compare the colour at the side of the nose to see the difference as it is more obvious. In real life, it does even out my skin tone and provides light coverage to those spots on my face. It does conceal some of my visible pores. Can achieve a no-makeup look with this. However, I don’t think it will suit those with darker skin tones.

However, just like any liquid-based makeup, it does get stuck here and there, especially on the drier part of the face but not as bad. Luckily it doesn’t break me out. It is lightweight and easy to spread but not as light as Perfect and Bright. At least, this is very lightweight compared to a liquid foundation or BB. There is no need to use a sponge or brush. Just your hand will do.

Biore UV Colour Control CC Milk SPF 50+ PA++++
It’s a little bit sticky and takes a bit more time to absorb. You might want to dust some finishing powder on your face if you want. Usually, I just leave it as it is unless I’m going out which is what I usually do anyway. The upside is that my skin looks nicer with this compared to using Bright or Perfect. It does not go cakey at the end of the day which is a good thing.

One thing for sure, I cannot apply it all the way down to my neck and chest anymore or else I’ll get my clothes stained.

Now, let’s talk about how lasting it is. No joke! The word “Very” on the packaging is true. Very water-resistant indeed. The usual ones, I can just wash it off with soap and water easily. My goodness! This one needs a lot of soap and water to wash off. Hence, using a makeup remover is crucial to remove this at the end of the day. I do use a makeup remover daily before washing my face so it’s no big deal. Will just need to be more thorough and need a bit more time to do it.

Overall, it is not too bad if you are looking for cosmetic sunscreen and you don’t want to fiddle with all those conventional liquid makeups. I would make this my daily makeup base if I have to use makeup daily but I don’t. The price is quite affordable. I got it for less than RM30 (was on offer). After finishing this bottle, I won’t get it again because I just want a basic sunscreen for daily use.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2021

Posted on May 14, 2021May 14, 2021 By sweet surrender No Comments on Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2021

Wishing my Muslim friends a safe Syawal this year. It’s was a last-minute decision that our government had to make that there will be no visiting and crossing districts and states to celebrate. What to do? It’s all for our own safety. The hospital beds and ICUs are running out. Sarawak still refuses to follow the MCO order from the federal side. It’s not getting any better here and soon we’ll be seeing resources running low. Had just found out recently that a number of acquaintances are now in the hospital fighting for their lives all because of some decisions that some idiots decided to make and these people are paying for that egoistic decision now. Sigh… Whatever… Say so much also no use. Just hope for the best, stay safe and healthy, everyone.

By the way, since we can’t go visiting, can’t go anywhere, I dug out my baju kurung that I’ve never really worn. So… These photos are exclusively shown here on my social media accounts, you will never see me in such clothes in public. I just cannot wear them out haha…

Althea Christmas Box 2020

Posted on December 23, 2020 By sweet surrender No Comments on Althea Christmas Box 2020

Did a shopping spree on Althea early this month. Was fortunate enough to receive my purchase in this year’s Christmas box. Decided to make a quick video decorating the box for the sake getting some feel of Christmas 😀

Enjoy your coming long weekend. Don’t forget about all those SOPs while you are busy celebrating. Best would be just stay at home and don’t gather at all. The government don’t care about your movement anymore, it is you that have to be wise enough to make your own decision on your own health and safety.

Tsubu Night Pack, Get Rid of Milia Seeds. Does it Work?

Posted on December 5, 2020December 8, 2020 By sweet surrender 7 Comments on Tsubu Night Pack, Get Rid of Milia Seeds. Does it Work?

I bought Tsubu Night Pack from Japan in August 2018 as I’ve been reading and watching about its good review over the years mostly on Taiwanese variety shows since early 2010s. I decided to get it for myself when I saw it in the drugstore in Japan. I don’t remember how much I bought it though.

I’ve tried looking for a more comprehensive review online but didn’t find any. Many did not give a final say of the product and it’s all dated way back to 2014/2015, no new reviews on it. In fact, I thought of blogging about it last year after seeing some effects on it yet ended up I didn’t because I was just too lazy.

Few days ago, some how I’ve been seeing similar products on FB ad. Then I tried to do a search on Google to find out more of those products, just curious, not planning to buy. Then I realized that I should give an in-depth review of using Tsubu Night Pack as I’m sure many people will be searching for it.

Here you go… First of all, I have no idea what are the ingredients in this night pack except it can reduce/eliminate milia seeds. There is also no expiry date on it. In fact I’m still using it now on and off whenever I’m in the mood. I did not religiously use it nightly. Why? I’ll share with you later in the post.

Left, Sep 2018: This is the look of my milia seeds before I used the cream. I have many but those in the circles bother me the most.

Right: I applied Tsubu Night Pack on them. Ignore the other spots, I was just applying on all the milia seeds that I could see. The three spots in the circles will be the key to this review as they are most obvious.

Left, Dec 2018: After using it on and off, not nightly, only when I remember or in the mood, you can see that the one under the eye isn’t that big anymore and have flattened quite a fair bit. Meanwhile, the ones at the edge seem to have separated as the edges for both had shrunk leaving the two seeds looking more protrude. Not to forget the one on the top, it seems like the size got bigger because it’s flattened but it’s not protruding like the photo above.

Right, Feb 2019: Between the first usage until this period of time, I did not use it nightly, it’s just once in a blue moon. I couldn’t recall how often, it is too infrequent for me to tell. The one at the bottom (safe to say this one has been with me for over a decade or even two) is not quite obvious anymore in the photos but if looking at it in actual life, there’s a bit of mark left there not completely flattened. To me, I would say that it works! Not 100% but it sure has improved a lot. I don’t see them in photos anymore unlike previously it would always show up in my photos.

In fact, up until today, Dec 2020, it’s still looking the same as what it’s like since Feb 2019. I do still use them, on and off, extremely rare but I don’t see any difference anymore likely I don’t use it frequent enough.

Now, let me share with you why I don’t use it frequently. The reason is simple, it’s not that practical… You need to ensure that the area you want to apply is clean and dry which means you cannot apply your skincare product on the area. I need to apply eye gel to my eye area to ensure I don’t develop wrinkles and dryness easily. Imagine if you want to use the night pack nightly, you can’t use your eye care product(s) every night, that’s a no-no-no for me. One night is fine but nightly? No way!

Having it on you and go to sleep with it isn’t practical too as it will peel off while you’re asleep. It’ll end up on your hair or your pillow or mattress or other part of your face. It will just be little rubbery pieces but it’s a hassle to clean up especially if it got stuck in your hair. This is also another reason I didn’t use it often.

Nowadays, I will peel it away before I go to sleep. It dries up very easily, no uncomfortable feeling, it’s painless. I would apply them on the milia seeds for about 2 hours before I go to bed. Also, I did not make sure my eye area is clean and dry, I just applied it on my moisturized eye area.

In short, roughly this is what I did these days if I do shower early:
6pm shower, skincare -> 9pm brush teeth then apply Tsubu Night Pack -> 11.30pm peel off, sleep.

In conclusion, it does work for some and not all. Maybe it will work better if you use it constantly. Should you get it? Well… It’s really up to you as you can see and read from my experience. However, if you never try, you’ll never know. Just have to spend that money to try. At least it’s painless and much cheaper than having it removed professionally. I’ve personally experienced the removal on some before, damn… It’s painful! I’m not sure where you can get it in Malaysia but I found it on Shopee, you can check it out here, here’s the direct link -> https://invol.co/cl1zwy5

Inner and Outer Sun Protection with NUViT

Posted on May 28, 2020June 10, 2020 By sweet surrender No Comments on Inner and Outer Sun Protection with NUViT

I’ve tried a new sun care product recently. Even though it’s MCO, we stay at home but we are still exposed to harmful UV and blue light radiation. Hence, don’t be lazy with sunscreen application. I apply sunscreen daily even when I’m not going out. It’s a must for me or else my morning skincare routine will not be completed. Aside from that, I will have my daily Vitamin C supplement too.

NUViT has it all covered!

NUViT Daily Defender SPF50+***(RM55.90) with 360° Invisible Shield is non-greasy, lightweight, moisturizing, long-lasting, not sticky, and soothing. There is no paraben, fragrance, or alcohol in it. The key ingredients are Pollushield™, Ceramide, Laminaria, Ochroleuca Extract, and Hyaluronic Acid. All these ingredients can protect from UVA and UVB damage which cause photo-aging; anti-pollution to protect against urban dust and reduce metal imbedding into skin; reduce oxidative stress in skin cause by blue light and boost collagen production; restore skin barrier; and moisturize skin.

I’ve been using it daily. It doesn’t break me out. Fast absorbing with velvety finish. Use it as the last step of morning skincare routine by applying it evenly on the face and neck.

As for defense from within to complement the sunscreen, you can drink NUViT Sunblox(RM80) daily. It helps in reducing sunburn effect, skin aging, and skin damage from UV radiation while maintaining skin elasticity. Best to drink in the morning. It contains Vitamin C and collagen that are known to improve body’s defense system while improve other aspects of skin. This nutritional orange and lemon flavor beverage has no sugar, fat, preservatives, and artificial colouring added.

The key ingredients are 2000mg Collagen Tripeptide to maintain skin elasticity; 300mg Vitamin C to boost immunity; while clinically proven NutroxSunâ„¢ and Polypodium Leucotomos Extract are plant-based strong antioxidants that protect skin from UV ray free radicals.

Mix 1 sachet with 180ml room temperature water and stir well. Consume 1 sachet daily. I do like the taste, not too sweet, not too sour. You can add honey to enhance the sweetness but it’s sweet enough for me. Remember to really stir it well and drink it immediately as it will oxidize. By the way, in general, collagen supplement is beneficial, I experienced good effect from it, I had less breakouts and hair loss was less too. I believe Sunblox will do the same.

If you would like to learn more about NUViT Daily Defender and Sunblox or their other products, do check out their social media account, Instagram and Facebook @NUViTmy
