Shiseido Senka Mineral UV Gel SPF50 PA+++

Posted on May 5, 2016May 5, 2016 By sweet surrender No Comments on Shiseido Senka Mineral UV Gel SPF50 PA+++

I had ran out of Artistry Pure White UV Protect SPF 50+++ so I got a more budget-friendly sunscreen, Shiseido Senka Mineral UV Gel SPF50 PA+++. I can’t remember how much it cost already. Bought it when it was on offer. Seeing that it’s from Shiseido, I didn’t think that it will go wrong.

This sunscreen is made from 100% mineral water, colour free, fragrance free, and allergy tested. Also claimed to be non-sticky and gave baby-smooth skin effect. Allowed smoother foundation application as well. No need special cleanser too, normal facial cleanser will do the cleaning.

Shake well before application is a must. The sunscreen is white in colour with watery texture. No smell indeed.

My verdict… I won’t repurchase. Maybe mineral based product is not suitable for me.

Not a good makeup base. At the end of the day, my makeup melted because of the oil produced on my face and I had to keep blotting. When I was using other sunscreens, I’ve never seen my makeup on the blotter/tissue or even had the need to blot. My face felt sticky at the end of the day. Very uncomfortable.

Without makeup, using it on its own was also not doing any good. Sticky from the start, not smooth at all. At midday, my face became oily and sticky. Ever since using it, I’ve been suffering breakouts on and off.

Mind you that I stay indoor most of the time be it with or without makeup.

This sunscreen just doesn’t work for me. Too bad…

Naruko Raw Job’s Tear and Taiwan Magnolia Facial Cleansing Products

Posted on March 24, 2016March 26, 2016 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Naruko Raw Job’s Tear and Taiwan Magnolia Facial Cleansing Products

I’ve been using Naruko’s facial cleansing products for 2 years. The first was Narcissus DNA Repairing Foaming Wash which got me hooked as it didn’t cause any problem to my skin. However, I couldn’t get this anymore at any of the Watsons in Malaysia. So I tried the other range.

Naruko Taiwan Magnolia Brightening and Firming Cream Wash EX

It didn’t produce a lot of foam. You must use makeup remover to remove your makeup or sunscreen before using this cream wash otherwise the residue of makeup or sunscreen will still be there. However, it doesn’t cause my skin to turn red, itch, or dry after cleansing. The face felt soft to touch after that.

Does it work as it claimed? Brightening and firming? To be frank, I didn’t notice any difference. Maybe you’ll see the result if you also use the other product from the range.

I tried the sheet mask, it was awesome! It did brighten and firm. Effect could be seen immediately. My skin absorb everything from the mask without feeling sticky on the skin. Will talk more about this in other post.

After that, I decided to try the other range, Naruko Raw Job’s Tear Supercritical C02 Pore Minimizing & Brightening Foaming Wash. My friend in Adelaide is a fan of this range. She has the whole range of product. That’s what prompted me to try.

The red granules infused with Vitamin E for exfoliation and anti-aging. Sounds great right? It foamed well but I felt that my skin was a bit tight after that. I also developed a bit of redness after using it but not as bad compare to other brands. Also, I didn’t see any effect at all. Hence, it just served as facial wash for me. Maybe, if you combine with its other products in the range will give better result.

I tried the sheet mask before too. It’s just another facial mask for me. I guess this range isn’t meant for me.

Overall, Naruko products aren’t bad. Affordable as well. In fact, I had ordered its Narcissus DNA Repairing Foaming Wash and facial masks (Narcissus and Taiwan Magnolia) from its official website because I do love the Narcissus foaming wash and the Taiwan Magnolia mask sheet. I figured the Narcissus mask isn’t bad also. We’ll see… Will review them in future post.

Artistry Pure White UV Protect SPF 50+++

Posted on March 15, 2016March 15, 2016 By sweet surrender No Comments on Artistry Pure White UV Protect SPF 50+++

Let’s take a break from all the food. Sharing a beauty product this time.

Artistry Pure White UV Protect SPF 50+++ is one of the products from Amway. I received this as a gift, so I’ve got no idea how much it costs. Any idea?

Fast-absorbing and moisturizing, this water-resistant, broad-spectrum formula helps shield skin during the highest levels of sun exposure
Exclusive Pure White Balancing Complex, with ingredients known for their brightening, soothing and antioxidant properties, helps even your skintone and keeps skin looking flawless.
Ultra light formula creates a smooth base for makeup to glide on

To use, shake well and squeeze the needed amount and smooth it on your face after your moisturizer.

Non greasy and it’s great to use on its own or under makeup. It doesn’t leave a sticky film on my face instead it’s smooth to touch. My face stayed matte for more than 8 hours no matter in air-con room or out there under the sun with or without makeup. It didn’t break me out as well.

In conclusion, it’s a very good product to use. Two thumbs up! So far, this is the best sun protector for face that I’ve used.

3Bskin Fruitful Cocktail Basket Enzyme Scrub

Posted on February 16, 2016February 16, 2016 By sweet surrender No Comments on 3Bskin Fruitful Cocktail Basket Enzyme Scrub

Was fortunate enough to receive the skin care product from 3Bskin for review. They sent me a tube of 60ml Fruitful Cocktail Basket Enzyme Scrub.

Packed in fuschia coloured box. The label of the tube was stick-on instead of printed. I have no idea how much it costs though. Anyway, I’ll just review it and if you are interested, just visit their Facbeook page by clicking here. I figure it should be quite affordable considering how the product is being packed and seems to be targeting teens and youths.

The product is formulated in France and manufactured in Malaysia. It claims to exfoliate skin and lift away pore clogging impurities.

Apply a generous layer of the mask after you cleansed and toned. Leave it for 5-15 minutes. Then, wet your fingers and gently scrub in circular motion. Yes, very gently because the granules are not very fine. Lastly, clean it off by sponging it with warm water.

It didn’t mention that you must not apply to your eye area and too close to lips which I think they should as this mask isn’t a very gentle mask. It’s granulated and the pineapple enzyme does sting. Also, it should not be used daily, too harsh for daily usage. One or twice a week is good enough.

Once applying the mask, I could feel tingling sensation and warming effect. Hence, this mask is also not suitable for those with sensitive skin.

The mask smells of pineapple. Smells yummy but don’t eat! Not meant to be eaten. It reminds me of Cellnique Advanced Bio Renewal Masque (you can find the review on the right sidebar under featured review) that I reviewed before.

So far, I’ve not suffer from any sensitiveness using it. The after-effect is as claimed, smooth and soft to touch. It should be a very affordable and good product.

Personally, I just feel that the packaging needs to improve. Stick-on on the tube feels and looks cheap. Have to pay more attention on the text on the box too.

Neubodi @ Vivacity Megamall

Posted on January 17, 2016January 19, 2016 By sweet surrender 1 Comment on Neubodi @ Vivacity Megamall

Discover your new body with Neubodi. Now available at Vivacity Megamall, first floor, shop 45. It’s an honoured to be invited to try out their products.

My first time hearing and experiencing this brand yet they’ve been around since 2008. Proudly a homegrown brand. The personalized fitting service is awesome! There is no measuring tape. The consultants do not only just listen to your needs but they also look at your height, built, and posture. Aside from that, they will gently hold our rib cage to determine the size.

They have the smallest size to the biggest size(30 to 44) from cup A to I.

All these while, I buy bras for its design and colour, most of the time neutral colours and cute strappy ones. As for sizing, I always requested for the smallest size to try. If couldn’t fit, I’ll ask for bigger size. I definitely won’t go for any bra with wide side panel as I have this perception that such design is only for women with big breasts and older women. Also with the big full cup and big strap, it’s a no-no for me.

Having the opportunity to experience the difference at Neubodi, all those perceptions are changed. The wide side panel is meant to provide fuller support and hold the fatty tissue around the back, shoulder, and breast area in one place so that no ugly bulges popping up here and there. I’m sure we all experience this.

Just because you are small built with small breasts, it doesn’t mean that your bosom are free from aging and gravity pulling effects. You cannot escape from that!

When I was fitted, even before I did all the steps of wearing a bra correctly, I could see some cleavage appeared. That’s not the end of the story, the next part is interesting which many people don’t know about or just being lazy like me, I normally just do the first two steps ;p. It’s not a secret anyway, it’s a proper way to wear a bra.

After that… WAH LA! I have breasts! Apparently, all these while I thought I’m a 70A but in fact I’m a 70C! What a surprise! That’s because the fatty tissues around the area are spread all over the place due to incorrect bra usage for years. You can try it with any bra you have at home. After you did all the steps, you can see and feel the difference. However, if you are wearing the correct bra with ample support, you will experience even more differences like what I experienced at Neubodi.

This is what makes up Neubodi bra:

So what do I get after the fitting? I’m given with a set of Clara Demure Bra . Tried a few, this is the only one the provide me with the best support and fit.

Inspired by the season’s full bloom of dramatic beauty, the Clara Demure bra incorporates Neubodi’s clear-cut sophistication, whilst adding a playful touch of “dandy” style. A divine creation using three-dimensional cutting on the bra cups, Clara gives you an instant lift with a fuller and rounder breast shape. A significant feature lies within its reinforcement sling on the inner edge of the cups to centralise the breasts and reveal a desirable cleavage. The cups are further decorated and hand sewn with lace to ensure a smooth fit at the bust line.

Key Features:
Underwired balconnet contour bra
U-shaped back design
Inner crescent-shape sling reinforcement
High side panels with unique soft boning structure
3 hooks fastening in B-C cup and 4 hooks fastening in D-F cup
Removable memory fit sponge

Big strap that doesn’t cut into your skin to ensure maximum support and comfort; and at least 3 hooks. Bigger cups will have 4 to 5 hooks.

Not just a layer of cloth to cover the padding but with reinforcement sling on the inner edge of the cups to centralised the breasts for better cleavage and the boning structure to support and hold the fatty tissues in place to avoid spillage.

OK… Pricing… I know you’ve been wondering, it’s not cheap, more than RM250 for a bra but if you care for it properly, it can last you long. However, even the other brands in the market are priced at this pricing for their new collections and premier range. Worry not! Always check neubodi.com for latest offers. After discount, it would be around the pricing of the other brands you find in the market.

Then again, you have to go for the fitting first before you commit to buy online as you will know which one suits you best and learn the right techniques. Every bra has a name, for my case, Clara is the one for me. Next time, if I want to buy online, I will go for Clara and my size. I will not go wrong with it. Even in the shop, they have discount corners, major discounts, the pricing is acceptable. It’s not that expensive actually.

An album with other bloggers and the people behind Neubodi. It was an interesting and eye opening session.

“How you care for your bra, is how your bra care for you”. Thank you for the invite 🙂
