It took you ages to build the reputation but it takes you a fraction of time to ruin the reputation.

It took you ages to reduce those weight but it takes you a fraction of time to increase those weight.

It took you ages to grow that hair long but it takes you a fraction of time to cut that hair short.

It took you ages to be a smart person but it takes you a fraction of time to be a stupid person.

It took you ages to be the person you are today but it takes you a fraction of time change to a different person tomorrow.

It took you ages to remember something but it takes you a fraction of time to forget something.

Turtle Eggs

OK! I know some people is going to flame me for this post but before you want to do so, please read the content carefully before you say anything. What I need here is your help and not your whatever oh-so-mighty lectures. I know I might be making a fool of myself or something for posting this but you better don’t make a fool of yourself here when commenting. Thank you!

I don’t encourage people to eat turtle eggs and it’s wrong!

I’ve been thinking whether I should post about it or not for more than a year because it’s obviously illegal to consume turtle eggs.

Seeing it in the newspapers last week or so about turtle eggs being served in a banquet really blew me off my mind because it was in a banquet attended by our beloved law enforcers. HOW CAN? Personally I know some people that like to eat these eggs but they don’t do it publicly with all those publicities.

Tell me what will you do?

If you are given with turtle eggs, already cooked, will you eat them or throw them away? Now here’s the problem, it’s already cooked, so how?

If you are given with turtle eggs that are not cooked yet, what will you do? What should we do? This answer will be able to help us save some of the turtles instead of going into the cooking pots.

I’m not afraid to admit that I ate turtle eggs before. Was first introduced to them 20 years ago. We don’t like them at all from the beginning, the yolk is sandy and the egg white is GROSS to the max. It’s different from chicken egg, the egg white just doesn’t become solid, it’s slimy. However, the problem came when it’s given to us cooked. People would give us once in a blue moon. What should we do? Throw them away? The thing is that they’re cooked, you can’t do much, will you eat?

I don’t know really… They’re cooked, so might as well eat them? Throw away will be a waste.

What you see in the photo(photos taken years back) are already cooked. Was given to us after it’s cooked. Ended up we very relunctantly ate them and it’s YUCKY! Even with all the sauces and so on to cover up the smell and the texture. The thing was that, they were cooked, furthermore they can be eaten, it’s food, you don’t throw food away right? This is the dilemma. Sigh…

I know I’m taking a huge risk of posting it here. Can anyone tell me, what should I do? If it’s you, what will you do?

HOW!??! As it seems like now is the season and who knows people might give them(especially cooked ones) to us again so I need to know what we should do besides telling them not to give us anymore. What else can we do? You know sometimes you cannot reject on things certain people give you. Any good way to let them know that this is a serious matter? They know it’s wrong, tell them it’s wrong won’t help, they already know it’s wrong but still buy them. What else can you tell them?

AGAIN! I have to stress that I do not encourage eating of turtle eggs, it is WRONG! It’s illegal! I need to know what is the next step to do when given with cooked or fresh turtle eggs.

To My Male Friends

Not many people know that today is White Day. It’s not popular here but very popular in Japan and South Korea.

Actually this post is dedicated to my male friends. Girls, don’t be jealous ok? Not that I don’t appreciate our friendship and never dedicate any post for you people. We have our own girly secrets 😉 Give the guys a break today.

Male friends… I have many of them compare to female friends. I don’t know why but I’m sure some girls agree with me as one of my female friends also got more male friends than female friends. You know who you are 😉

I think I blogged about it before. I always have a very close male friend in every single phase of my life. We ended up as good friends, it’s all platonic. However, there were some with romantic feelings at the beginning but ended up we didn’t go further. We just stayed as friends as the feelings just subside on its own. When we talked about it, we would laugh at ourselves for being silly to have feelings for each other last time.

I’m not sure whether it’s just me or otherwise, I feel more comfortable talking with my male friends about some problems that I’m facing rather than with female friends. With my male friends we can talk non-stop about just anything under the sun from girl talk to man talk. Strangely I can’t really share many things with most of my female friends, usually just girl talk.

Most of the time, if you see me talking about going out with my friend(s), 98% would be male friend(s). Most of the time, I will ended up be the only girl in the group.

Sometimes if I do go out one-to-one with my male friend who are single, we would always be mistaken as couple by his friends or my friends that haven’t seen us for long time. It’s quite funny. Sometimes if we were in playful mood, we’ll just play along(as in just smile to them, didn’t say anything at all) and later laughed over it.

I seldom go out with male friends that are attached because it’s not very nice to be seen with unless their other halves know about it else I will usually stay away because usually our closeness will cause jealousy to their other halves so it’s better to play safe.

I guess male and female friendship will usually slow down when one of them are attached, there is no way both of you can maintain the usual closeness. Agree? There are always some degree of differences between male and female. It’s quite hurt and sad sometimes knowing that you both can no longer “play” like you both used to.

For you guys(you know who you are), thanks for everything. Thanks for the company and help whenever I need, be it shopping, traveling, dining or just anything and the rides, trusting me with your expensive gadgets(those DSLRs that were place under my care while you are away hahaha…) and your secrets, and many more. Most importantly, thanks for the respect, the trust, the understanding, and not taking advantage of me.

Be it male or female friends, the one that will go tru’ the ups and downs with you are your true friends besides your family.

Marriage is the Biggest Challenge in this World

I came across an interesting article today from the brochure I got from church this morning written by the reverand.

By the way, the title of this post is not the title of the article, the title is my summary after reading the article. Click on it for bigger version if you can’t read the small version here.

I’ll just roughly translate the whole article for those that don’t know how to read Chinese. I will skip the bible verses translation.

There are 5 conversations in the article:

For the deeply in love couple:

Girl: After getting married to you, I will share all your worries and sadnesses with you.
Boy: Honey, you’re so sweet but I don’t have any worry or sadness.
Girl: Oh… That is because we haven’t get married.

For the newly wed:

Groom: If my father didn’t leave me with all the properties, will you still marry me?
Bride: I don’t care who leave you with what, I will surely marry you.

Bride: What do you love about me? My pretty face? My nice body?
Groom: I love your sense of humour.

For the long-time married couple:

Wife: What are you doing?
Husband: Nothing.
Wife: Nothing? You are staring at our marriage cert for 1 hour.
Husband: Oh… I’m looking for expiration date on the marriage cert.

Wife: Why you keep my photo in your wallet?
Husband: If I’m facing any problem, I just have to look at your photo and everything will be fine.
Wife: WOW! I got such huge impact on you!
Husband: When I see your photo, I will tell myself, the person in this photo is the biggest challenge I have to face in my life. There’s no other challenge bigger than this.

If you notice, no matter how successful a person is in his/her life or very strong in facing the challenges thrown to him/her, when his/her marriage is having trouble, everything in the world will turn upside down. Marital issues are life issues. If you don’t want to change your life, no matter how educated or how rich you are, there is no way to save your marriage.

I hope this article will inspire you a little and something for you to ponder upon.

All I can say is that, marriage is no child play. Marriage comes with huge responsibilities. A marriage can either make or break a person. Think carefully before you commit yourself to it. It’s not something as easy as just signing a paper to get married just because you feel like it and later sign another paper to get a divorce when there is no feel anymore.

Happy Valentine’s Day 2009

It’s that time of the year again where everything is hiked double, triple or even more. Every couple practically flood every single eatery in Kuching not even letting go of the hawker stalls. Road is jammed too as everyone is heading out for celebration.

To all those legal love birds:
Wish you all the best and may the love showers you with all the happiness.

To all those illegal love birds(cheating spouse or third party):
Wish you all the worst and may the “love” showers you with all the sorrows when the time comes.

Shoo! I’m not talking about you, don’t perasan! If you think I’m referring to you then that’s your problem. Means you admit that you are wrong.

It just happened that since last year until now I’ve been hearing a lot of cases like this happening and it has affected those around me badly even though they are not the ones that got involved in it. Not just one case but severals *HORROR*

Can you imagine how many I have to listen to because they need my ear for it? Not that I complain, I’m willing to hear you people out as long that it can help in reduce your stress level even though I can’t do anything. That is why I’m very sensitive in thing like this nowadays.

Thing like this is not only about the couple but it will affect anyone close to the cheating spouse or the third party. It comes in a package.

Be it legal or illegal, a relationship is not about two people but the whole package of the person ranging from the past, the present, the future, the family, the friends and so much more.

To all the singles or those having their loved one somewhere else:
Let’s hope next year will be better. We can celebrate Valentine’s Day on any other day! Why must it be on the day itself when everyone is trying to earn more than an extra piece of your money and squeeze around with others? Even you are madly in love doesn’t mean that you have to be a stupid consumer. We don’t have to follow the crowd at all. Make your own Valentine’s Day! Agree?!?!

Anyway… It’s Saturday and I’m having class then after that stay at home jiak kaki. Dear… Do you hear that? ;p Don’t think so… So long we share the same sky, the same sun and the same moon, it’s better than nothing. *MUAKS*

By the way, anyone wanna date me tonight to spend our very own without-lover/single Valentine’s? Come to think of it, I don’t think we have a place to go at all *LOL* I better prepare for my presentation tomorrow ;p Not in the mood to go out, don’t want to be part of crowd.

I’m so bitter… So what?!?!? It’s not like my bitterness will cause your Valentine’s Day to go bitter also. Like as if you will be reading this, you don’t even have time at all. You are too busy spending time with your Valentine.
