Birthday Post 2007

Posted on September 4, 2007September 4, 2007 By sweet surrender 18 Comments on Birthday Post 2007

If you want to skip this post, you can hahaha… Nothing informative just me, me, me and me… Very long one too…

Ah… Got a surprise mail(real mail, not e-mail) this morning. Somebody sent me something in the middle of the night. Santa is coming to town! Hahaha… A bit too early *LOL* Thanks. You know who you are.

This is my one and only birthday present for this year, I don’t think there will be any other coming. I don’t have many presents for my birthday, sometimes even none but then I don’t mind, no one remembers I also don’t mind. What’s the big deal with birthday? Especially when you are getting older and you are still stuck in the same place as last year or since years ago.

Oh well… As long that I get to have my family with me, I’m thankful already. Will be going out to eat satay tonight hahaha… Yummy…

Let’s see… I’m 25 this year. What have you achieve before you reach 25?

Me… Money wise, I manage to make money from blogging, making far more than my day job. I’m saving up these money for my trips.

Other than that… I’m still very much single, not much achievement in other things as well.

Here’re my observations of my peers:
1. In steady relationship, got married, engaged, started a family…
Me? I’m still far from all these! Yesterday my mom just told me that, “At your age, I already have a daughter already… That’s you.” *SWEAT* Me? Even boyfriend also don’t have. Not that no one wants me, there are many but none can give me the security I need! Financial security that is. Not that I’m worshipping money or what, it’s just that everyone has different needs in a relationship and it happened that financial security is my biggest concern, I tried out so many tests and so many quizzes and no doubt, all came out saying that I need financial security. Well… There’s one but… Not going to talk about it now… Not until we had worked thing out.

I met an ex-classmate on Sunday and told her that many of our ex-classmates are married with kids already. She exclaimed,”WOW! So early get married, don’t even say with kids. We are only 25, too early la…”. Personally, I think getting married before 25 is a bit too early too. We also did talk about how many of our friends actually have no more social life(all their life resolve around husbands, kids and their in-laws, friends are no longer in their list) after they got married, damn scary…

2. Steady career, climbing up the career ladder…
Me? Hahaha… Not my cup of tea and I’m making money via blogging, no fixed income but at least get more than what many people are getting from Kuching’s job market.

3. Have tonnes of loans, mortgages, dealing with mortgage payment protection, bad credit mortgage, debts, helping in paying household expenditures…
Me? None… I don’t have any property and I don’t help with paying bills or groceries, I’m still so much of a parasite if that’s what you want to call me as *LOL* Sometimes I do pay a bit but at the end my parents still pay me back the money, got to keep the change summore. πŸ˜›

*SHRUG* What scares me the most is th BIG 30 is getting so much nearer! OH DEAR!!!

Last but not least, happy birthday to myself and I will blog about the birthday present by somebody after I clear my post debts πŸ˜›

This post was not meant to be a paid post but I found an opp that is suitable for this post, might as well… Hehehe… So I slot it in, please don’t hate me hahaha…

Me, myself and I, Take A Break

    Hi and Happy Birthday!

    A couple things.

    Age and Marriage:
There is nothing wrong with not being married at 25 or even 30. I am glad my wife and I waited until we were both 25 to get married. If we had married at 18-20 I don’t know if we would have made it. People are still changing so much at those ages and trying to β€œfind themselves”. Most of us didn’t have a good job, we were in college, and even a bit immature. Its best to focus on studies, grow up a bit, and get some dating experience (I am not talking about sleeping around). I know it is much harder in Asia, but don’t let someone (or age) pressure you into marriage. From the time she was 18 my wife’s parents were constantly asking her β€œwhen are you getting married?” Now they constantly ask us β€œWhen are you having kids?”

To touch a bit on the money aspect:
I do agree financial security is important in a marriage. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be secure in life as long as it isn’t the ONLY requirement you are looking for. You have to honestly love the person and enjoy being around them. You also need someone who feels the same about you. Look for a guy who may not be rich at the moment but one who has a good future ahead of him. Look for a guy with a good education and a great work ethic. Many times β€œrich” young guys just received the money from relatives and didn’t earn it themselves. They may be spoiled, lazy, and arrogant. Also, what happens if the parents cut them off or die and leave the money to someone else? If someone has a good education and is hard working you can never take away his ability to earn a decent living.

My advice would be to find one that has earned or can earn a decent living on his own. When my wife and I met, we were both getting our masters degree and a bit poor (student bills). Neither of us had money but we knew that after we graduated we both could work just about anywhere. We have been happily married for several years now and live what we both think is a fantastic life. We are happier than ANY couple I know. In all our years together we have only had 2 real arguments. I enjoy waking up next to her as much today as I did the day we were married. I hate when we go to work and look forward to getting home every day. There is no experience in the world to match true love so make sure the love is there along with financial security.

Well enough of the unsolicited advice, sorry for the lecture. I wish you all the happiness the world can give in the year to come.

    Jay

a bday is still a bday but still a special day πŸ˜‰

Deadpoolite, hahaha… I seldom post things like this πŸ˜› I won’t do it so often else it won’t be special anymore *LOL* What a waste, you shouldn’t throw it away, you should keep it for the next girl πŸ˜›

Jay, No problem hehehe… I knew something like this will be coming :P. The bit about getting money from parents and relatives, that’s the kind of guy that I will stay away from which some of them that are after me are like that. I only go for those that knows how to make their own money, capable and hardworking enough to know that money doesn’t fall from the sky and they have to work for it. They must establish themselves to win my heart with their hard earned money haha… Successful guys are yummy *LOL*

    Pink Cotton, hehehe… Thanks πŸ™‚

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
