Turn Red Mini Zoo – Part 1

Posted on September 5, 2007September 5, 2007 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on Turn Red Mini Zoo – Part 1

This is in Bau, not in Kuching, so I’m not grouping it under Uniquely Kuching. On 31st August, we made a last minute decision to go to visit a zoo. Called up many friends and too bad they already had their own plan already.

I’m not sure how to describe the direction to go there. Basically just go to Bau, then you will see the signboard below…

Take the left… The right is going to Sematan and Lundu.

Just drive straight up, don’t turn into Wind Cave on your right. Don’t turn right! Just drive straight up to Fairy Cave direction. See the magnificent mountain! Very nice! You don’t see this everyday for the city folks.

You will reach a junction with the yellow signboard, then turn right. You will reach the police check point. This is also the direction for you to go to Serikin, where the Indonesia border is.

Not long after that, pay attention to your left, you will see the signboard. This is where the mini zoo is located. You are now right below the rock mountain.

Left: We were greeted by huge and tall tree trunk. See how small I am 😛
Right: Well… Just normal tree 😛 You can only see my eyes there hahaha…

Some views of D’ Villagers(formerly known as Turn Red Restaurant). This is where you can sit and rest after hours of walking aroud. Enjoying the clean air and the nature around you. You can also order some drinks and food to savour there. This, I will cover in later part.

The middle is a huge rock pillar, pretty tall too just like the tree trunk above.

The time it took us to reach there was around 45 minutes-1 hour…

I didn’t know that Bau got this mini zoo. It used to be my “balik kampong” place… born and grew up here.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
