Paypal Incompetent?

Posted on May 21, 2007May 22, 2007 By sweet surrender 14 Comments on Paypal Incompetent?

TOO MUCH! Really TOO MUCH! How can a big corporation like Paypal taking ages to fix the problem facing by almost every international users with no US account? How can? GRRR!!!

I’m sure if those in the US are having this same problem like us, I’m sure they will sue Paypal for super duper huge lump sum of money for their monetrary losses, and mental and emotional torturing. It’s so unfair! Just because we are not people that simply sue anyone like those in the US, you shouldn’t be taking us for granted! Don’t forget that we are also those that contribute to the profits of those US citizens that trade on the Internet. We are their customers!

So, those e-traders in the US, if you noticed that your sales drop, you will know why. It’s been almost 2 weeks already! You are suffering sales losses and so do us. We can’t accept payments, we don’t have money and we can’t buy from you. I think you should start to think about suing them for all the losses you are suffering?

30 days mark is getting nearer and nearer… *Sigh* Are we going to lose all money pending to be accepted in there? This is not supposed to be happening to such huge and reputable corporation that is based in the US! You are bullying us! Too much!

One more thing, at least made an announcement about this problem and let us know the progress! Then you won’t be getting people bombard you will all the support e-mails! I got another mail from them just now, I had send one last week and got their reply:

We understand the frustrated situation you are experiencing, our technical experts are working hard on this issue and hopefully it can be resolved shortly. Because it is a complex technical problem, we are unable to promise you when it can be resolved. We would suggest you to check the transaction status in the coming few days to see if this issue has been resolved or not.

At the moment, we would be highly appreciate for your patience. If your customers are not able to wait and need the items in urgent, is it possible for them to choose other payment methods to make the payment? Such as bank transfer or money order.

Sigh… Will PPP and all those sponsored posts programs send us money in other form? Double sigh…

Miss Sarawak Model Of The World 2007 Preview Show

Posted on May 20, 2007May 20, 2007 By sweet surrender 18 Comments on Miss Sarawak Model Of The World 2007 Preview Show

It stated that it’s 2pm in the newspapers but when we reached Crown Square, 2nd floor… it stated 3pm!!! So loitered around until 2.30pm. Found a place to sit then waited. It started few minutes before 3pm and ended about less than 10 minutes after 3pm! So fast!

Finally… The contestants were out! OMG! I’m speechless… *shake head* Why? See it for yourself! The catwalk was all a mess, no discipline at all and not properly choreographed at all! It gave me a feeling that they were trying to make each other “ugly” and seemed like there were some boycotting among themselves too. I don’t know how true is that but that’s what I feel when I saw them. Those contestants were not professional enough, too amatuer. How to represent Sarawak like this? I faint…

First group, I was shocked to see their height. -.-” Aren’t they supposed to be tall but these are just average height that you can get from any girl on the street. I know I’m still shorter than them but… Don’t know how to say… Goodness gracious… Don’t be so desperate to try to act cute OK?!? Very vain.

Second group, much taller. Not much comment on this group but gave me the feeling that they were not in very good term with each other.

Third group, a mixture of heights. Kinda stiff and trying too hard to impress the audience. Also very common look that you can get from any girl on the street.

Everyone of them. See the way they are standing? The tallest girl tried to squeeze into her space but no one wanted to move a bit to give space yet there was this huge gap at the right side. However, finally she managed to squeeze in.

I’m sure you are wondering why they kept showing their claws? *LOL* They are showing off their nail art! Macphee Nail & Hair Studio is the sponsor for one of the their subsidiary titles, Miss Beautiful Finger(sounded something like this, didn’t really listen to what the announcer said, I was busy taking photos). Cheh… Only nails, I thought there would be hair show too.

The 5 finalists for the subsidiary title and the result will be announced on the big night itself which the entrance is not free, you have to buy tickets to watch the show at Riverside Crowne Plaza.

Luckily I didn’t went up and take their photos last night. They sure would stop me from taking it because after the show, there’s a girl trying to take pictures of the contestants’ nails in the salon, she was stopped by the organizer telling her something about contracts, rules etc. I wanted to take too but I didn’t, I quickly left after I heard what she told the girl. The girl left and obviously she’s quite upset with it. If I’m her, I will be pretty upset too.

There you go… Nice or not?

Amidst All The Bags & Shoes…

Posted on May 19, 2007May 20, 2007 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Amidst All The Bags & Shoes…

There are pretty girls…

I think they are the contestants of Miss Sarawak – Model of The World. There will be a preview show tomorrow at Crown Square, 2nd Floor at 2pm.

Hmm… Are they pretty? I don’t know… I didn’t really see them hahaha… According to my dad there’s one that are quite pretty. Hahaha… My dad(my bro followed) went over and stood there see them having some photo shoots at Formula One and when they walked into Lea Center, he followed too. So funny 😛 My mom and I were too shy to stand there and stare, we walked quite far away and see them from far far away 😛 I feel that it’s weird if girls are the those that stood there and stare at them summore take photos of them, I’m afraid that the organizers might ask me to delete the photos, there were some cameras there but I didn’t see any DSLR there hahaha… Those taking photos were the sponsors and the organizers. I noticed that the organizers looked quite “fierce”. *Scary*

Hahaha… I took the photo form outside the shop, using zoom.

They were at Lea Center at Sarawak Plaza just now for some assingments since Lea Center is one of their sponsors. You only see 4 here, there were another 4 behind them. If you see carefully, you can see one of their waists. They were wearing super short pants, very high heeled boots and exposed midriffs. I’m sure guys will not miss it.

Might be going to Crown Square tomorrow afternoon to take photos of the preview show. Hehehe…

Chong Qing Steamboat

Posted on May 19, 2007 By sweet surrender 15 Comments on Chong Qing Steamboat

WAH! Finally I had satisfied my craving last night! I know it’s crazy to eat this during the hot spell attack in Kuching lately but I’m glad that I made it on the Friday night which the whole day was wet and cool. Phew… If not, you go figure how are we going to survive? 😛 Too bad the rest couldn’t join us, it’s so hard to find such a nice day like yesterday to have it. We were so afraid that it’s not longer in operation anymore but lucky lucky… They are still in operation! YES!

Had it the first time in December last year. We spent RM56 for the 5 of us last night. This price exclude drinks. By the way, it’s not buffet style. You have to order your ingredients one by one.

Left: The base will cost you RM10. It’s divided into section, the non-spicy and spicy sections. You can choose the level of spiciness. We opt for the lowest level. Hehehe… At first we were thinking to order medium spicy but at the end decided to get the lowest one because we’re not sure about the rest whether they want it very spicy or less spicy since we reached there first. So if later they want it more spicy, we can just ask them to add more chillies! 😛 Then Ann came and I think she accidentally got choked by the spicy base hehehe… Poor girl yet her drink hadn’t arrived. So we settled with this level of spiciness.

Right: The sauce for you to dip your food. I’m not sure what it’s made of but can taste very strong garlic smell and a bit like satay sauce but it’s not stay sauce.

Here’s the tip to eat this:

– DO NOT dump everything in especially the meats into the steamboat, it’s not meant for you to do that, it’s for you to “shabu-shabu”, that’s why the meat are all thinly sliced. If you dump all your meats in, they are going to be very salty and not nice anymore.
– You can dump your fishballs and veggies(those thick type like cabbage) in though.
– As for tofu, don’t let it stay in there too long.

Left: Chicken meat.
Right: Beef. Wow! It tasted so good! This is the best meat to have with this “ma la” steamboat.

Left: Pork.
Right: Singapore fishballs. Huge! I had one only hehe… Ann got the last one and I just realised they were gone so she gave me hers since I didn’t eat any.

Left: Needle mushroom.
Right: Tofu.

Left: I don’t know what this is called. Chinese cabbage? The one u usually see in the market when almost Chinese New Year.
Middle: Cabbage.
Right: A type of fungus. Not sure what its name.

This place is really recommended for those that like spicy food. The location is hmmm… At Tabuan Laru, same row as AmBank. If you are facing AmBank, the direction is to your right. Great weather, great dinner!

No More Gatherings!

Posted on May 18, 2007May 19, 2007 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on No More Gatherings!

Warning: Long winding rant. It might offend some people but I hope not.

YES! As the title said! I’m so tired of it already. As some of you know, I’m always the one who is in charge of organising gathering for my gang. It’s getting harder and harder to arrange and I seldom want to arrange lately though May seems to be a lot of gathering for the same group of friends but it’s more like hang-out than a gathering because everytime it’s supposed to be a gathering, it ended up to be a hang-out session with almost half of the gang not turning up because of their commitments. Not that I blame you for not turning up. If you can’t come it’s all right. At least I let you know that we are having a gathering though sometimes I know that you will not turn up at all, still I tell you becasue you are a part of my gang. There is no way that a certain time can fit everybody’s schedule. It’s impossible but if you have the heart I’m sure it’s possible. It’s just a matter of priority and I don’t blame you for that. Everyone has different prority.

It’s just that I had this “conversation” with somebody today and I think this somebody actually don’t know what’s the difference of a gathering and a hang-out. Actually we had this kind of “discussion” before and I had already let him know my objective of organising a gathering instead of hang-out or yum-cha session. Then again today… Same “discussion” is back. So yea.. From now on, I’m no longer organising any gathering anymore because there is not point of having a gathering anymore when most people couldn’t turn up.

You see… A gathering is not something that you always have, it’s something that you only do once in a blue moon where all the gang gather together. As for hang-out or yum-cha, anyday, anytime will do and there is no need for all to turn up. I can guarantee you that if it’s yum-cha session, you won’t be seeing everyone, you only yum-cha with those closer to you though you’re in a gang but there are some that you are not that close to. See.. These are the differences.

Since I’m always the one that organise the gathering or yum-cha session, since no one will initiate it besides me, almost 98% of the time I’m the one who initiate them. Then I’m the one that have to turn up everytime for the gathering or yum-cha session. Indirectly this means I’m spending twice or even thrice more than others because our gathering or yum-cha sessions are always held at eateries around Kuching, be it kopitiams or cafes. Some might say, have it at kopitiams enough lar… No need to spend so much. That’s not my point, when I have to turn up in every one of them, I’m going to spend money even for just a drink even it’s just at kopitiam. Got my point? That’s why I prefer a gathering where I can meet everyone at once, everyone got to see each other and I only spend one time.

OK fine! Money aside, let’s not talk about money. The main point is I will not be organising any gathering anymore. It’s time for you people to initiate it rather than I’m always the one who do it. This somebody kept telling me not to plan the gathering so early, one week before you call it early?!?!? Then told me that I should do it last minute by asking 1 or 2 persons to confirm early then the rest just call them up last minute. Last minute you say? A gathering is not a last minute thing OK? Yum-cha is!

OK fine… Make it a last minute thing, then later call everyone up, then I will surely got shot by some saying that why didn’t I plan it earlier and let them know earlier so that they can reserve that time for our gathering. So… How? I usually will let the gang know one week or at elast 4-5 days in advance about the gathering hoping that this time will be reserved only for our gathering. If there is anything coming up, then the gathering should be the priority but usually 99% I will have last minute cancellation from people. So? Advance planning also cannot, last minute planning also cannot. How?

I guess the italic statement is a bit unfair to some. At least that’s what I do, I keep my promise. It’s all about first come first serve. If you want to ask me out or whatever, you have to book a time with me and that time is reserve all for you. If there is something like family dinner or whatever that come last minute as long that it’s not a life and death situation, I will tell those “book” me later that I already have plan, it’s acceptable and my family will understand, they will never force me to go with them or whatever and I will 100% show up at the time I had promised. Well, I know I can’t expect people to do so but just to let you know that I won’t disappoint you if you tell me earlier. I hate “last minute”. Usually I won’t be able to made it.

Also due to many of these “last minute” cancellations, I always got “put aeroplane” as the appointments were usually set with 1 person only and last minute the one and only that was making the appointment with me couldn’t made it and I’m being left there without nothing to do since I had reserved my time just for the appointments and the rest have their own commitments already. If two persons then at least I have one more to turn to but usually only 1 person. Like I said just now, not everyone has the same free time. So, you think I dare to make last minute yum-cha session when I had been “put aeroplane” so many times already?

Next time, it will be just “wanna join us for this and that?”(if I want you to join my activity, I’ll ask you, if I don’t, I won’t be asking, definitely in advance) instead of “gathering when and where”(specially/purposely arrange) which means there will not be 100% turn up and there will never be seeing the whole gang thing anymore. I see you more, I see you less or I’ve not seen you for ages. At least, it’s not that disappointing when many can’t turn up. So yea… I hope I’m not offending anyone. I feel very tired already kept arguing/discussing about same thing coz no one will ever understand what kind of problem that I’m facing when arranging these stuffs.

So… You prefer last minute or advance booking?
