I made orange butter cookies for Chinese New Year this year. There were so many oranges at home, so I decided to take one to make these cookies.
The recipe yields about 40 pieces.
Ingredients:
60g icing sugar (can reduce to 30g for a less sweet version)
Orange zest from 1 orange
35ml orange juice
75g salted butter (room temperature)
160g all-purpose flour (sift)
Steps:
- Mix icing sugar, orange zest, and orange juice, then set aside.
- Sift the flour and mix with the butter.
- Midway, add the orange juice mixture.
- Mix them all till doughy.
- Shape it.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 150 degrees Celsius for 35-40 minutes.
- Leave to cool and store in an airtight container.
