Pavilion & One Utama 7th January 2010

Posted on February 9, 2010February 22, 2010 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Pavilion & One Utama 7th January 2010

First stop in the morning was Pavilion.

It’s not very far from where we stayed. We just walked there. Spent quite a bit of time there as my parents were interested in the decorations selling there but they were too expensive to buy and no way to bring them back ;p We spent quite a lot of time at the food court too.

We decided to try Mr. Baoz! I knew about this place somewhere from the Internet more than a year ago(if not mistaken). Finally saw it here in Pavilion. Of course, we decided to try it out. There was promotion that time and we bought the promo set, 4 baby Mr. Baoz for RM1.70/each. Original price was RM1.80/each.

It’s really mini and cute! In fact it’s just your normal bao except it’s fancier and with lots of choices rather than the usually char siew or red bean. Frankly I don’t like bao but the bao from Mr. Baoz were just too cute to resist ;p

We had BBQ Chicken(from Royal Delicacy series), Winter Romance(from Chocolate Serise), Chicken Sate Baoz(from Royal Delicacy series), and Snowflake Taro Baoz(from snowflake series). I don’t quite remember what we had actually. I took the brochure so that I could refer when I do my post. Now… I notice that the actual Baoz doesn’t look the same as the Baoz in the brochure that’s why I can’t identify them *LOL*

How’s the taste? Hmmm… Well… Not so bad, something different but acceptable especially to my parents who prefer food that they are familiar with.

You can actually opt for the Baoz that is fried but we opt for the steamed ones. Why Mr. Baoz? I got these from the brochure:
– natural colouring
– less oil in the fillings
– can keep in freezer for 3 days and reheat with steamer/microwave
– texture is soft and healthy
– “double” filling, one on top, one in the bun
– presentable and nice packaging

After having Baoz, we ordered a bowl of Braised Beef Noodle(RM10.90) at Little Taiwan, one of the stalls there, to share. The taste was quite disappointing.

After that, we headed back to 41Berangan before heading to One Utama. In fact I was torn between One Utama and Mid Valley. At the end I decided to go to One Utama coz I thought I could get my CNY clothes there since I’ve been getting them there every time I’m in KL. Our taxi was to pick us up from 41Berangan using meter to One Utama, the fare was RM30.

In the end I regretted it coz I didn’t get anything there and we wasted most of our time getting lost inside the shopping mall hahaha… Should just go to Mid Valley, there’s more thing to see at Mid Valley or might just go to The Curve or IKEA.

There’s Old Chang Kee here. It’s a franchise from Singapore. Bought the curry puff to eat.

Photos taken from the One Utama. We ended up here when we tried to locate TGI Friday *LOL*

We tried to look for TGI Friday and got lost so many times, round and round, kept returning to the same place. We saw it from afar but couldn’t find our way to it. Silly, silly! We were all these while so near to it but never noticed it! -.-” Wasted so much time just looking for it.

Finally I got to dine here after so many years! We only ordered a set, it’s quite big in portion for us. Thought of ordering another but was full already. I definitely couldn’t finish it alone. Just having half the meat could make me full don’t even say the whole plate of food.

Left: Texas Ribeye and Cajun Fried Shrimp(RM54.90), generous 10 oz. Australian chilled air flown grain-fed ribeye topped with a fresh spicy tomato pico de gallo paired with crispy Cajun fried shrimp served with BBQ sauce, Cheedar mashed potatoes and grilled corn on the cob.

Initially I ordered medium rare but later asked them to change to 70% cooked as it was too bloody and my parents couldn’t accept it. I didn’t expect them to ask me to check when they serve it to us. Upon seeing my parents reactions, they offered to change a new one for us. They didn’t just took the meat and recook it instead it’s a whole new piece of meat. That’s good! I like that!

Seeing this now make me craving for it again -.-”

Right: Green Apple Slush(RM8.90), mixture of green apple and lemon-lime soda. Very huge glass, lucky we only ordered one.

After that, we called it a day and got a taxi back using meter for only RM25. It’s a good thing this taxi driver actually know his way once he saw the address unlike the one that we got at KL Sentral.

That’s all for the second day, spending most of the time getting lost ;p

Ministry of Beats Vol. 1

Posted on February 8, 2010February 9, 2010 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Ministry of Beats Vol. 1

Finally got the time to post this event, Ministry of Beats Vol. 1 that was organized by Shiok.org that happened on 30th January 2010 at Royal Oak. It started at 4pm and I reached there at around 4.30pm. What was it all about?

Think of electro beats from the DJ and rhythms by a group of percussionists and drummers. That’s what it’s all about.

Left: We were required to get stamped so that they know we had paid to go in. Went there with media pass. It wasn’t very happening at first. Well… What do you expect? It’s still too early for people to party!

Right: The DJ.

Left: The performers.

Right: We had the chance to try out too! Cool! I haven’t been beating drums for years!

Left: I went there right after I managed the anime collage competition at tHe Spring, that explains why I wore skirt and it doesn’t look decent *LOL*

Middle: Candid shot, I was playing the drum that time.

Right: When the sun went down…

I left at about 8pm+, couldn’t stand it anymore. Was tired due to rushing from one event to another. I didn’t stay long to enjoy the party.

That’s all about my experience at Ministry of Beats Vol. 1.

By the way, photos were taken from random sources in Facebook, namely from Andre, Sheng Han and Cyril. I hope I didn’t miss out anyone. I lost track of the owners of the photos ;p

Check out the video, you can see me in there hahaha… So awkward, really cannot wear skirt to do that! ;p My movement was restricted to the max.

Freebies Giveaways & RTM Recording

Posted on February 7, 2010February 9, 2010 By sweet surrender No Comments on Freebies Giveaways & RTM Recording

I have so many pending post, KL post. MOB post, Betong post, and food post that are not ready yet. However, I’ll blog about this first which is easier to blog ;p.

Today, it’s the turn of Morgan, Fahri, Naomi, and Sandra to give freebies away. Apparently they got many prizes too, so they had two rounds of games.

I went there with my parents and when I reached there, Morgan and Fahri almost ended their activities. All I know was that, I was busy looting stuffs that Mike got from the game ;p

Fahri asked me to go up to help out with Naomi’s and Sandra’s activity as someone from the crowd. I think I’m the only tHe Spring Ambassador finalists that actually went up to win something *LOL* We played Limbo Rock! Oh my! I fell hard on the stage in public! Wakakaka… I don’t mind really.

Then they had kids went up to do catwalk. Funny… Where’re the adults?!?!? I thought they could get better response compare to us but apparently we also had to help them look for people to join them on stage.

There… Everyone had done their final task and now we will be waiting for the final result.

Before Noami and Sandra’s slot, we(the finalists) had a short filming with RTM crews for KUPPA KOPI. It’s aired every Monday at 2pm on TV1. It’s not in the plan at all, it’s last minute.

Aiks… I didn’t even have full makeup, just a bit of foundation, blusher, eyeliner, and mascara which were not very visible. I was just simply wearing my usual clothes. Didn’t dress up at all since I was only tagging along with my parents.

The staffs at Stage offered to apply some makeup for me but we got no time for that. Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it 😉 I just applied some lipstick from them that’s all.

So… I’ll be appearing on national TV this coming CNY(should be second day of CNY, 2pm) with almost no makeup(can consider no makeup at all!) to wish you a happy Chinese New Year.

Here… Group photo is a must 😉 Too bad, the photo is too blurred to salvage. I should have activated the flash.

Lesson learnt ;p. From now on, I should not go there without dressing up first! See what happened today? *LOL*

Freebies Giveaways

Posted on February 6, 2010February 8, 2010 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Freebies Giveaways

Jonathan and I were given last minute instructions that we would be working in pair and our sponsors were changed to Level Up Fitness and add on another one, Digi, in less than 2 hours. Luckily we worked in pair and not individual as stated earlier. Two minds worked so much better and one. Even though it’s last minute, we managed to pull tru’.

Good thing we had plan B. We were expecting for more and better responses but too bad we didn’t get it. Where’re all the people?!?! For the first time in the weekend I got no problem looking for parking and there’s no jam out there.

Good thing we had supports from people around North Court and some friends.

We let them play a game called Musical Box, similar to Musical Chair. They were require to pass the box around. Whoever got the box will have to draw a piece of paper from the box to get either a question or an activity instruction. The last one standing would be the grand prize winner.

This is second round. We tried to get anyone up to the stage and also draw for a piece of paper from the box to get a question or an activity instruction.

We had to share a microphone. Seriously I hated it. Only one person could do the talking each time and talking alone is boring ;p When one got the microphone, the other got nothing much to do but stood there on stage -.-”

Left: Took a photo with Aprilia, the winner of Breeze Model Search.
Right: Me with “me”. See how huge the thing is?!?!

Finally got this last task done. We’ll now just wait for the final result. Thanks to whoever that came and supported our task today.

Join Me Tomorrow at tHe Spring

Posted on February 5, 2010February 6, 2010 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Join Me Tomorrow at tHe Spring

Updated: Plan changed! I’m not giving out Sushi King or WOW Book instead I’ll be doing something for Level Up. Not sure what time will it start but I think it should be around 1.30pm.

Got some sort of last minute task assigned to us. I was shocked when I saw the event in the newspapers this morning. We were not informed about anything that will be happening this weekend. Basically, less than 24 hours to prepare. It will be our last task before the finale.

My slot will be at 1.30pm, it will last for 20 minutes. I need to organize a game to let the shoppers win prizes. Been cracking my head for ideas. After some discussions, I finally got an idea. Now I need to prepare my props and my scripts for tomorrow. I’m going to give out Sushi King vouchers and WOW Book.

I hope I will do well and not get nervous. Cross my fingers.

That’s all for now. 😉 See you tomorrow.
