Haze Oh Haze

Posted on August 2, 2009August 4, 2009 By sweet surrender 13 Comments on Haze Oh Haze

This time of the year, we all know we will be having this haze attack. Red bright sun in the evening, hazy views, visibility turns low, smelly air, itchy nose, sneezes and so on.

It was a big deals more than 10 years back, it was so bad back then until the government had declared emergency. I don’t quite remember when was that, it was when I’m in primary 6 or early secondary school years. Anyone remember when?

The visibility was so low that time even in the house. Schools were closed if I’m not mistaken. Masks were selling like crazy and I remember my dad brought back some industrial masks, so many types! *LOL* Those masks were very expensive! However, we didn’t wear it, it’s so uncomfortable.

Nowadays, it seemed not a very big deal, everyone as if comes to term that this thing will surely happen and we can’t do anything about it. Even though we do complain, we still going around doing our daily activities without any problem unlike last time.

In fact, I have no idea how to deal with this problem. However, what I do not understand is that why some stupid people can’t stop burning at their own backyards during this time of the year? They know that the air quality is already bad yet they still want to burn their garden waste or whatever at their backyard. Why? Why make things worst? You don’t want to live, we still want to live ok?!? So selfish! There are other time that you can burn your waste, why must you choose time like this to burn?

You might say that people are burning everyday even with haze or without haze. However, from my view, from what I’m seeing around me, that’s what I notice. Other time I seldom see smoke coming out of their backyards and only time like this you can see it almost everyday. Usually, you might just see one or two, then time like this, there are more than that.

I’ve been hearing fire engine’s siren a lots these day and one happened near my place. The fire got out of control and spread to the bushes nearby. Guess what they’re burning? TIRES! I did take a photo if it, just the smoke but I accidentally deleted it when I wanted to delete some other photos.

During time like this, it’s not a very good situation for me because I have sensitive nose. Sneezing is one thing, the haze is also causing my nose to bleed but not the type where blood flows out, Phew… It’s due to the membrane in there that got irritated and dried. Simply by rubbing my nose will cause the membrane to rupture. There will surely be dried blood in there, it’s so annoying. Sigh…

Anyway, what I really don’t understand is that, why burn now? You are not supposed to burn now! ARG! Inconsiderate brats!

Kuching Festival 2009 – Part 1

Posted on August 1, 2009August 4, 2009 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Kuching Festival 2009 – Part 1

Update: No parade this year.

It’s this event of the year again. Went there just now thinking of catching the parade but the information I got from my source was wrong -.-” Many people got wrong information also. Usually the parade is on the first Saturday of August but not this year. I just found out that it’s tomorrow. Not going tomorrow I guess…

Let’s see some photos:

Left: The main entrance as usual.
Right: The balloon stalls as usual.

People and food! Who cares about A(H1N1)? *LOL* There are more stalls this year and the arrangement is slightly different compare to the passed few years’.

I bought two things to eat there, the fried burger and multi flavoured fruits mua chee.

The deep-fried burger is RM2.50, actually it’s just normal burger wrapped in popiah skin and then deep fried. You can choose to have chicken or beef burger, they cost the same. Do not expect patty in the burger, there isn’t, instead they are using shredded meat. I tried out chicken burger, it’s not that bad but it’s quite oily on the outside. RM2.50 is hmmm… A bit expensive for me. No photo for it because I couldn’t find a place to sit to eat my burger, I walked and eat at the same time hahaha… I will not buy this again, just not my type.

Left: The multi flavoured fruits mua chee stall is just next to the deep-fried burger stall. I bought small one which is RM3 and you can choose to have one flavour only or maximum 3 flavours and there are more than 10 flavours to choose. Something different from your usual mua chee. I bought lychee, mint, and mango. My bro said that there’s no taste at all but I managed to taste the taste. Lychee is slightly sourish, mango tasted mango-ish *LOL*, and mint tasted really minty. Pretty creative I would say. Will I buy again, maybe… Might try out different flavours. We’ll see.

The trade fair in the hall.

This year the stage is not at the usual place. It’s located at the lake. Water below the stage, interesting. I think it’s a pretty good way to have the stage somewhere outside the food fair as this will disperse the crowd and make more space to move.

The garden show wasn’t ready yet, maybe tomorrow will be ready since the opening is tomorrow not today.

That’s all for now.

Brush Strokes Clouds

Posted on July 31, 2009July 31, 2009 By sweet surrender No Comments on Brush Strokes Clouds

Been pretty busy lately with revision, memorize lots of big words. One subject down(as in memorizing, exam next week), one more to go, I thought it would be easier but who knows it’s harder because there’s much more BIG words than the other one. *sweat* It’s been a very very long time not feeding my brain with so many things, this is not going to be easy.

Think of it in other way, it helps stimulate more brain cells growth which is good. Stop using your brain and one day your brain will be useless ;p

Anyway, woke up one morning(few days ago) and I looked to the sky, the clouds were so beautiful, just like strokes of brushes. I quickly got my phone(camera was in the living room) and took some pictures of the clouds.

Things are pretty tough these days(more days coming…), I’m trying my best to face them. My conclusion is that, if it really happens, there’s nothing much I can do also. Rather than worrying, might as well just do my best, prepared myself for the worst, and have a backup plan. I shouldn’t be too worry, just stay focus and believe in myself. I CAN DO IT! Hopefully… ;p This is how I feel today, who knows I feel another way tomorrow. I’m so the very fickle minded.

Are you going to watch Kuching Festical parade tomorrow? I might be going, we’ll see by then.

August Coming!

Posted on July 30, 2009July 31, 2009 By sweet surrender 9 Comments on August Coming!

So fast… Tomorrow will be the last day of July. Almost end of the year already. I kept thinking today is Friday ;p

How’s your 2009 resolutions? Given up on them already? I never set any but almost all the plans that are supposed to be executed this year failed. Failed terribly because of just one thing! SUCKS!

I’m now busy with doing my revision, so many things need to remember, so many jargon. Exam next weekend, so fast! Seems as if there’s still time but it’s getting closer now.

I haven’t even get any money changed for my trip to Singapore in coming weeks. RM1000 can only get roughly SGD400 only! SGD400?!?! What can you do with it for 5 days in Singapore?!?! Cannot spend more than SGD90 a day. -.-” Luckily I don’t have to pay for accommodation else more money will be needed *SHUDDER* I hope money fall from the sky now…

Frankly, I’m pretty bo liang bo juak(hahaha… How to express in English?) lately because I really don’t see the point to do anything now but to protect myself from head to toe, inside and outside, building up layers and layers of walls. What else can I do? Aih…

On the other note, Kuching Festival will start tomorrow and the parade will be this Saturday, 1st August.

Lastly, I’m wondering anyone needs to get a home tutor for their kids or anyone hire one? Do you know how people charge in Kuching for tutoring primary school children? Just curious, doing some research on it.

Milo + Cracker

Posted on July 29, 2009July 29, 2009 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Milo + Cracker

I’m sure many of us have this memory of having Milo with cream crackers. I’m very sure that many still eat their cream crackers this way.

Dipped the cream cracker into the cup of Milo. It tasted so good! I haven’t been having my Milo this way for years. This morning I suddenly thought of it and here you see my breakfast ;p.

Rediscover the tastiness and the fun of having Milo with cream crackers. I just don’t understand why the both of them complement each other so much. No matter what, it’s satisfying.

By the way, this post is in no way sponsored by Milo *LOL* Since I posted about the wafer few days back, it seems as if I’m being paid to write for Milo ;p If only they do pay me, in my dream la!
