Kuching Festival 2009 – Part 1

Posted on August 1, 2009August 4, 2009 By sweet surrender 3 Comments on Kuching Festival 2009 – Part 1

Update: No parade this year.

It’s this event of the year again. Went there just now thinking of catching the parade but the information I got from my source was wrong -.-” Many people got wrong information also. Usually the parade is on the first Saturday of August but not this year. I just found out that it’s tomorrow. Not going tomorrow I guess…

Let’s see some photos:

Left: The main entrance as usual.
Right: The balloon stalls as usual.

People and food! Who cares about A(H1N1)? *LOL* There are more stalls this year and the arrangement is slightly different compare to the passed few years’.

I bought two things to eat there, the fried burger and multi flavoured fruits mua chee.

The deep-fried burger is RM2.50, actually it’s just normal burger wrapped in popiah skin and then deep fried. You can choose to have chicken or beef burger, they cost the same. Do not expect patty in the burger, there isn’t, instead they are using shredded meat. I tried out chicken burger, it’s not that bad but it’s quite oily on the outside. RM2.50 is hmmm… A bit expensive for me. No photo for it because I couldn’t find a place to sit to eat my burger, I walked and eat at the same time hahaha… I will not buy this again, just not my type.

Left: The multi flavoured fruits mua chee stall is just next to the deep-fried burger stall. I bought small one which is RM3 and you can choose to have one flavour only or maximum 3 flavours and there are more than 10 flavours to choose. Something different from your usual mua chee. I bought lychee, mint, and mango. My bro said that there’s no taste at all but I managed to taste the taste. Lychee is slightly sourish, mango tasted mango-ish *LOL*, and mint tasted really minty. Pretty creative I would say. Will I buy again, maybe… Might try out different flavours. We’ll see.

The trade fair in the hall.

This year the stage is not at the usual place. It’s located at the lake. Water below the stage, interesting. I think it’s a pretty good way to have the stage somewhere outside the food fair as this will disperse the crowd and make more space to move.

The garden show wasn’t ready yet, maybe tomorrow will be ready since the opening is tomorrow not today.

That’s all for now.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
