Finally got time to compose this post! Well… I went to the Royal Adelaide Show on the second day. It’s a Saturday, the crowd was huge!
Left: The entrance. It was at Showground where I had my exam last study period. Coming here felt as if like I’m going for exam hahaha…
Right: The Yellow Brick Road is where you could buy a bag with the map in there and later go to the booths with the signage to claim freebies! It’s only $10, pretty worth it, the things you’d get cost more than that but I didn’t buy it. A bit regret not buying it ;p
The Royal Adelaide Show also known as the Royal Show or simply The Show, is an annual agricultural show/fair held in Adelaide, South Australia that begins on the first Friday in September, or the last Friday in August, and runs for 9 days. It is held at the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds, located in Wayville and is attended by thousands. It features food, rides, a Ferris wheel, competitions and animal races.
The Royal Show is primarily an opportunity for the State’s farmers to show examples of their livestock. There is Horticulture on display with the freshest fruit and vegetables. It also includes rides, competitions, demonstrations and food of all tastes (i.e. gourmet food as well as waffles, hot dogs, hot chips, sausage on a stick, cinnamon donuts, sausages, sausage rolls, pies, pasties etc.) and styles.
It’s a big event here.
I’ll just let the photos do the talking…
So much to see!
Was there for about 10 hours! Walking and standing most of the time. Poor feet… Suffered a lot. So painful.
It’s a very interesting event, highly recommended to go. Even though people kept saying that every year it’s the same, still they go every year because Adelaide is just like Kuching hahaha… Not much big events going on, once there is, everyone will be flocking there.
Didn’t go on any ride though, quite expensive.
Had our lunch, Dagwood Dogs aka corn dog. There’s foot long one but I went for the 6-inch one which cost $5. So filling! Really cannot underestimate it. I thought I won’t be full eating it. Taste? It was okay. What do you expect? Basically, it’s just a sausage in a stick fried in batter.
Left: My friend bought this fries, don’t remember the name. I think it’s called Potato “something”. Very expensive! $9!! It tasted good but very oily.
Right: *Blek* It’s me. The weather was so good that day. The sun was so strong. Not cold at all but it turned quite cold at night.
To be continued…
hmmm the potato something looks dericious
jojo, hahaha… It’s just like brain, that’s how the stall’s signboard looked like, a mad scientist brain.
