The Hahndorf Inn

Posted on May 27, 2012May 27, 2012 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on The Hahndorf Inn

The main place we wanted to go in Hahndorf was The Hahndorf Inn.

On the way there… (ignore the wrong label of the photo ;p)

Almost there… We’re there! It was already 3pm and most of us didn’t eat any lunch including me hahaha… Only had a cup of oat as my very late breakfast at almost 12pm.

Did not order A Taste of Germany Platter (AUD59.90) which people would usually order. Instead we went for other dishes which were quite enough for 7 of us. You only see two here, we ordered another plate of sausages but I forgot to take photo of it. It looked similar to the one on the right.

Left: Stuttgart Platter (Serves 2) $66.00 includes 400gm rump steak, 500gm pork ribs, 6 crispy chicken wings, served with Rhine potato, sauerkraut and homemade bbq sauce. In fact, it can feed more than 4 people hahaha… Don’t be fooled by the “Serves 2”. Portion is huge here if you are ordering anything that stated “Serves 2” in the menu.

Right: Trio of Wursts $29.90 includes Bockwurst, Bratwurst and Weisswurst with traditional German potato salad, sauerkraut, and a fresh German pretzel.

We also ordred another dish called the Duo of Kranskys $23.90. There’s cheese Kransky and Plain Kransky, served with Rhine potato, sauerkraut and a fresh German pretzel.

All were absolutely divine! The chicken wings, rump steak, and pork ribs were soooo goood!

Left: Trio of Wursts and I.
Right: It’s already so late yet the the lunch crowd was still there. This place is always packed with people at any time of the day. You will have to wait or reserve in advance.

Hi Irene, nice pics, name sounds European.
I love the scenery and noticed cars drive other side.
Always good to be exploring new places….
    Have fun, and keep well.

Uncle Lee, it’s a small German village in South Australia, that’s why it sounds European 😉 Yes, here drive at the same side as Malaysia.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
